1. What kind of media institution
might distribute your media
product and why?
2. Media Institution
A media institution is an established, often-
profit based organization, that deal in the
creation and distribution of
advertising, entertainment and information
services.
3. IPC Media
IPC media is the UK’s leading consumer magazine and digital publisher
I believe IPS would be a good media institution to help distribute my
magazine because they are a well known and one of the leading media
institutions in the UK. They have already been in successful in publishing
similar magazines such as ‘NME’ magazine which will also have the type
of target audience my magazine would have so this is already a good
match.
With more than 60 iconic media brands, IPC creates content for multiple
platforms, across print, online, mobile, tablets and events. This is
important as the institution already shows they cover contents over
different types of platforms.
Also engaging 26m UK adults - almost two thirds of UK women and 42%
of UK men. This is great as I know they will be able to reach out to my
target audience who would be both female and male.
They have an award winning portfolio of websites reaches over 25 million
users globally every month therefore I believe this institution meets my
magazine’s standards
4. Bauer Media
Bauer Media is Europe’s largest privately owned
publishing Group. The Group is a worldwide media
empire offering magazines in 15 countries, as well
as online, TV and radio stations creating a wide
range of sources and offering a global appeal. This
would be a major advantage.
Bauer Media is a multi-platform UK-based media
Group consisting of many companies collected
around two main divisions, one of which being
magazine.
They have produced a lot more successful
magazines such as ‘Kerrang’ and ‘Q’ they have a
lot of experience which is why I believe this
institution would be a good to publish my
magazine.
