Project Work
Post-Graduation
1. Modelling and simulation of impact of SVC on distance protection of
transmission line.
“SVC is used to maintain the voltage magnitude at the middle of a long
transmission line as well as to enhance the power transfer capability of
transmission line but SVC has effect on apparent impedance seen by relay
subject to the mal-operation under the L-G fault.”
2. Modelling and simulation of impact of Series Compensation on distance
protection of transmission line.
“Series Compensation is used to increases the power transfer capability of
transmission line with improving the steady state and dynamic stability
limits but it introduces several problems like voltage and current inversion,
over reaching problems. An adaptive schemes of distance relay used to
overcome over reaching problem.”
Under-Graduation
1. Tuning of power system stabilizer (PSS) using Genetic Algorithm
“Power System Stabilizer have been added to excitation system to improve
the oscillation instability and extend the stability limit by providing a
supplementary signal to excitation system by optimizing the system
parameter."
Training
Under-Graduation
1. Summer training at Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL)
“Practical Training on transmission and distribution system
220KV/132KV/33KV substation, at power training centre chandaka,
Bhubaneswar on 13th May to 11th June, 2010”
