Speech On Value Of Diversity
Diversity is defined as "a state of being different" however, the meaning extends further than just
culture and race. It is a concept which revolves around acceptance and respect. Understanding each
individual, their tradition, their belief, their uniqueness, and their importance in the community
builds up the true meaning of diversity.
The concept "Value of Diversity" refers to, understanding each other and moving beyond religion and
culture to appreciate the person's principles and their presence in the society. Valuing diversity
teaches respecting individuality while maintaining respect for others. It helps us to highlight the
contributions of various groups in making up a community. As evident from the speech by Kofi
Annan at Global Centre...show more content...
When the importance is known, no group would dominate the other to overpower it with their
morals. The most rival groups, Hindu and Muslim will also observe that 'Diwali' has the name 'Ali'
and 'Ramadan' has the name 'Ram'. The two groups will come to realize that apart there minor
differences, there are similar ideas and concepts that can bring them together, a wall of hatred and
dominance is futile. Hence, the wall must be demolished keeping all the differences apart, and
shaking their hands in the name of unity and

Descriptive Essay About Summer Vacation
"Hooray!" I shouted, I am so excited about today. Why am I so enthusiastic you may ask, because
today is the first day of summer vacation. We were on our way to the beach Every year me and my
family visit the beach for a whole month. So as you can see there is much to be excited about. As we
drove along I could barely wait, I could smell the fresh, salty ocean air. I asked my parents "are we
there yet." They replied with one word, yes! This year in particular is extra exciting because we
are going to rent a new beach house. We had arrived as I leapt up out of the car to my dismay the
new beach house wasn't as great as I had anticipated.
My parents and I went for a walk around town. As I was dragged into the Pirate Museum I listened
to stories of the pirates and their treasure. The stories were not at all what I had expected they
surprisingly were very interesting. One story in particular was the most interesting about pirates
who had supposedly buried their treasure on this very beach. When we returned home I went
outside searched for more about this new found buried treasure. I felt the hot, dry rough grains of
sand on my feet. As I searched I heard someone call out "hey what are you doing." As I looked up
I saw the face of the kid from the beach house down the street. I replied, "I am looking for the
buried treasure."The kids name was Joe and he wanted to help me on my quest. We decided that the
next day we would look for clues around town.
The next day we split up and looked for clues I went to learn more from the Pirates Museum and
it's workers and he asked around people town and looked for other places that might help. From
my second trip at the museum, I was told much more about the pirates who sailed the deadly
ocean seas. I could practically feel the windy, cold rough seas of the ocean. I learned this city
used to be the hideout for the pirates, and that there was also a map hidden somewhere to lead
you to the treasure. Part of the map was kept here in a secret room but the rest was yet to be
found. I was overjoyed with this incredible news and ran quickly to tell Joe. If we found the rest of
the map we could find the treasure. I saw my new friend Joe walking towards me, he had also

"My favorite holiday" Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love seeing the shinny
Christmas lights that decorates my street and the sound of fresh fallen snow on the ground.
Christmas reminds me of family, the laughter and loved we shared, and the gifts we gave to each
other. My house on Christmas became the center of my joy. I remember waking up on Christmas
day with a huge smile on my face, heart full of joy, and my stomach barking. I can smell all the
spices cooking down stairs. As soon as I got out of bed I will rushed down the steps into the
kitchen to see what my mom had prepare for us on this special day. We had different variety of food

Me and my older cousins drag the box outside onto the front porch. As I begin to open the box my
hands started trembling. I couldn't tell if my hands were shaking from the excitement or because
it was five degrees outside. It took us two hours to put the hoop together. Our lips felt like icicles
we were numb from head to toe, but it was worth every moment. It was the most beautiful
basketball hoop I ever seen. It was candy apple red and the backboard had lights on it just in case I
wanted to play in the dark. I thought Santa Claus gave me the coolest gift in the world. Later on
in the evening I use to enjoy sitting in our cozy living room while, the fireplace was burning
sipping on hot cocca and scoff down ginger bread cookies we made the night before. My family
was always exchanging jokes. My brother Tito and my sister Titania love joking around, but my
brother was a lot funnier than my sister. He was the jokester in the family. I remember this one
particular joke my brother said about my aunt. He said she had a temptation hair style. I was
hollering it was so funny because when you looked at her hair it did remind you of the singer
group the Temptation. You would of thought she was a member of the group. I was laughing so
hard tears were running down my face and I urinated a little on myself . My brother always made
holidays so much fun. Christmas was very special to me because the feast my mother

Shades of orange, purple, green, deep red, magenta and dark blue make beautiful festive colors. If
you are going for a monochromatic theme, go for colors like champagne, iris, sapphire, tango
pink and laurel green. Diwali festivities are spread over multiple days in some regions, during
which celebrants explode fireworks, share sweets, and send greetings to friends and family.
Women may have their hands decorated with henna designs. Homes are decorated with small
lamps and colorful paper lanterns called diyas and kandils, important parts of Diwali decorations.
In some parts of India, Hindus also create rangoli, intricate floor paintings made of colored tikka
powder or sand. Rangoli designs are made up of an unbroken line, the idea being that there should be
no gaps through which evil spirits can enter. Motifs are usually natural – animals, flowers, etc.–
though they can also include geometric patterns.
People celebrate it by getting together with their relatives as well as nearest and dearest ones.
They celebrate it by sharing gifts, sweets, greetings and best wishes for Diwali. They enjoy a lot of
activities, playing games, firing crackers, puja and many more. People purchase new clothes for all
the family members according to their own capability. Kids enjoy this festival by wearing glittering
and blazing clothes.
People enlighten their home and pathways with the clay diyas to remove the single bit of the
darkness and to

Essay about Germany
Germany is the fourth largest country in area in
Europe, with a total area of 356,970 square
kilometers (137,827 square miles). The country has
a varied terrain that ranges from low–lying coastal
flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central
area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily
forested mountains and snow–covered Alps in the
south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich
culture, but it did not become a unified nation until
1871. Before that time, Germany had been a
confederacy (1815–1867).
The country has a total of 82,071,765 people (1997

Stretching from the Baltic and North seas to the Alps,
Germany measures about 800 kilometers (about 500
miles) from north to south; the country extends about
600 km (about 400 miles) from west to east. In
addition to coastline and mountains, the varied
terrain includes forests, hills, plains, and river valleys.
Several navigable rivers traverse the uplands, and
canals connect the river systems of the Elbe, Rhine,
and Danube rivers and link the North Sea with the
Baltic.
Germany has a mostly moderate climate,
characterized by cool winters and warm summers.
River valleys, such the Rhine, tend to be humid and
somewhat warmer in both winter and summer,
whereas mountain areas can be much colder.
Precipitation on the average is much heavier in the
south, especially along the Alpine slopes, which force
incoming weather fronts to rise and let off moisture in
the form of rain and snow.
Germany does not have large pockets of poverty or
great economic disparity. Crime levels are
substantially lower than those in the United States,
and the possession of guns is controlled. However,
there are substantial numbers of homeless people
and problems of violence, alcoholism, and drug
abuse. Nonviolent crimes, such as theft and burglary
in urban areas, have increased since the 1970s.
They occur often enough to make law and order a

My Most Memorable Event Essay
My most memorable childhood event was when I was 15 years old. It was the Fourth of July. A
big family vacation a barbeque, over night stay and out of town trip to six flags, and I had a blast
the night before me, my mom, sisters and brother packed our bags to stay the night over my cousin
house in Goodlettsville ,Tennessee. She had the biggest house ever I thought it was a mansion; six
bedrooms two an half bath, a swimming pool, a game/movie room with a nice big kitchen. It was
something that I was not use, knowing that we stayed in a three bedroom based on an income
apartment on the East side of Nashville. Arriving to my cousin house i seen alot of my family

We finally came to a stop i was waken by my big brother hitting me with a water balloon. i was
pissed and i rush out the car to get him back but my mom was giving us that you better act like

fun had begun. There were so many rides big and small. Some of them i did'nt get to ride because
i was too short and they didnt believe my age. So i was mad and ready to home because i thought
it was unfair. So i decide to stay by the pool with my granny and Aunt Jackie. Which was fine with
me because they gave me money to play games and to get food. I remember almost collecting
fifthy dollars from them and that was alot of money to me. I listen to all the grown up gossip.
They were funny until they realized i was laughing with them. So they made me go play. I finally
seen my brother swimming so that was my plan in revenge i jump on him while he was under
water and didnt let him until i felt like he had enough. After while it turned into a game of marco
polo. Then it was time to go we got together we all gathered at the concenstation stand and got
food and drinks. We took a couple of pictures together and said our last goodbyes before we
hopped back on the road to go home. I had so much fun at that the sometimes i wish i could go
back to that age at times, but now i have my own kid to raise and have family vacation with. I just

Special Delivery Analysis
The first essay I read was Special Delivery. This essay was particularly funny to me because I
could see my husband saying everything this new father was writing. When my husband and I
had our first son I could see the panic in his eyes. Then my husband, like Brian, was scared to be
in the delivery room. He also toughed it out and surprisingly became very supportive and excited.
When we talk about the delivery, he describes it the same as Brian, they felt it was gross. When I
was in recovery my husband stayed with our son and he also described a feeling that his whole
world changed because of the little, wrinkly boy he was holding in his arms. The second essay I
read was Epiphany. In this essay the writer is describing a moment

Diwali or deepavali is a five day that festival that represents the start of the Hindu New Year. All
the fireworks, the small clay lamps and candles that are lit during the celebration is one of the
main reasons why it is called the "Festival of Lights". This festival usually falls on the month of
October or November . The lights are said to symbolize the victory of good over evil, and
brightness over darkness. The Festival of Lights creates a warm atmosphere and it is celebrated with
much joy and happiness.
The first excitement would be the new clothing that we usually run around for days buying to be

Descriptive Essay About Carnival
The screams echoed throughout the field. This was one of the greatest time of the year for me,
carnival weekend. Every year during the summer I travel to Preston, Idaho to visit family and
enjoy the fun filled weekend. There is a carnival, rodeo, parade, and sidewalk sales for 3 days!!
And I was back again, this year I am 8 years old. The smell of carnival food drifts though the air as
I stand next to my grandma and aunt. The excitement of the event pumps through my veins. It
was finally here I thought, the carnival. I stood watching the crazy rides where most of the
screams and laughter came from, the people seemed so small inside of the giant rides that flung
them this way and that. "Stay close Destry," my grandma said. I nodded and looked back to the
rides. The bright flashing lights reflected in my dark green eyes. The smoke machine of one
clouded the side and the screams and laughter increased. I couldn't wait till I was tall enough to
ride these. My cousin and I were really excited to be apart of the big kid rides. My cousin Shayla is
about the same age as me just a few months older. Aside from cousins, we are best friends! We
usually don't see each other but when I come for the weekend I stay at my grandma's house and
Shayla stays with me too. I turn to look at my grandma as the big ride ends, and find myself alone. I
wouldn't go as far as alone, there are hundreds of people around me. But my family was nowhere in

Fidget Spinners Essay
Something showed up at early 2017, and it instantly became a massive hit. Guess who they are.
Yes, fidget spinners. Small fidget toys made from plastic or metal, spinning on our fingers to their
massive boom. These toys might look simple and small, but their popularity isn't. They're well
known all over the world. So, what do they hide behind their metal bearings? Where and when do
they come from? Sit back and get yourself a cup of coffee, as I will take you on this trip, uncovering
fidget spinners, and examining their reason of existence, in terms of science and art. Before
cracking these spinners deeper, we'll first go through the history of fidget spinners. There are no
clear evidence about it's original inventor, but there are indeed some other evidences that could lead
into the creation of this small toy. Catherine Hettinger, 62 years old, is one of it. She is a chemical
engineer, and she said that she's a tinkerer. Surprisingly, she doesn't have any kind of connection
towards any companies that are producing this popular toy. She had her first 2 patents for a
placemat that could help people on their diet. Her third patent, granted in 1997, is a circular device
made from a single piece of plastic that spins on the tip of a finger. She called this device a "spinning

Descriptive Essay About Summer Vacation
Summer vacation! The beach! The mountains! Friends! Airplanes! Then, there was me with no
plans, just drawing and eating, and other monotonous things, very repetitive. If someone asked,
"What is something new and interesting you did this summer?" I would of had to reply with, "I
tasted a new potato chip flavor, it was good. What did you do?", but that wasn't the case, because
my parents then all of a sudden, in the very last minute scheduled a vacation, It was a three day
vacation. The vacation consisted my family going to New Hampshire, Maine, then Boston. First
of all, if you didn't know, New Hampshire is located South West from Maine. Go north, then wow!
Hello Canada! Next, Maine is located South and a little West from New Brunswick, one of the
provinces in Canada. Fun fact, Fredericton is the capital of News Brunswick! Lastly, Boston is
Massachusetts' capital and largest city. Another fun fact, it's one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The
people that are involved in the events are me, of course, others are my sister, mother, father, and the
people of the inn and hotel. A delightful and enjoyable summer vacation! Our first stop, New
Hampshire as I introduced it, it is South West from Maine, it's capital is Concord. When we first
entered New Hampshire, there were buildings, students, and workers walking everywhere in
different directions. It actually, sort of reminded me of New York City, of course New York City was
more crowded, had more large buildings, and different, but still it reminded me of New York
City. My family went to New Hampshire riding a car, so we had been in the car for seven hours.
Well we kept driving North, the outside started to change, the buildings became less more
common, then before I knew it there were trees in everywhere, just no trees on the path we drove
on. There were yellow deer crossing signs ornamented the tall and green trees. Then when we
arrived at the inn, I mean to go to the inn, we took like three stops to ask where this inn was. The
inn was around trees, were we had to park the car was not the parking lot you would see normally.
The parking lot had no lines to indicate where to park. It was just covered in small rocks as tiny
pebbles, gravel, sand, and etc. The

Diwali, the festival of lights, is one of the important and widely spread holidays celebrated in
India. It is a celebration of lights, and for many, it is truly a sensory experience; some families

to bring in wealth and prosperity for a new year, cook and eat delicious food, design rangolis, light

enjoys.
Diwali in the Modern World
A growing number of scholars and people debate the need and justification of using fire crackers to
celebrate Diwali for a number of reasons. One is the amount of money that goes into flames every
year in the name of celebrations towards the purchase of firecrackers . Secondly, many
companies that are engaged in the manufacturing of these fire crackers said to employ child labor
and hardly follow the safety rules or welfare measures. Thirdly, there is hardly any control on the
quality of the fire crackers manufactured by these companies, which often results in injuries and
deaths due to accidents or poor performance. Fourthly, it is not uncommon to see irresponsible
youth in various parts of India using firecrackers to tease women and trouble helpless people in
streets and public places. Fifthly, excessive use of fire crackers often lead to communal clashes
and social tensions. It also exposes the children of poor families to a lot of despair and loss of self
esteem when they see other children playing with them. Lastly the firecrackers are a source of
pollution, although on the positive side people claim that the smoke and smell drive away the
insects and clear the air.

Speech Reflection Essay
During speech class this semester, I gave several different types of speeches on several different
topics. During this semester, my ability to give speeches in front of an audience has improved quite
a bit, I hope. Going into the semester, I had a really hard time giving speeches to people, but now that
speech is almost over I feel like I am more capable of doing so. I think the thing I did best during
the semester was getting good information for each of my speeches. My favorite assignment was
most likely the impromptu speech. I really liked that one because we did not have to prepare an
outline or anything like that, we just got to go up there and speak. During this semester, I learned
a lot about how to give speeches such as the proper way to stand so I do not rock, or how to use
my hands to emphasize my points. In the future, I think that I will be able to control my speed better
during my speeches which will help the people I am presenting to understand my message. I
think the skills I have acquired during speech will help me for the rest of my life. No matter what
career I choose, I am sure that at some point I will have to present to someone about something.
The skills I learned in speech will also help me just communicate with people in a one on one
situation easier than I do now. I can use these skills throughout the rest of high school and through
my six years of college still to come because whenever I have to present a project I will know how to
effectively communicate my message to my audience.
Based off of all of my reflection sheets, video evaluations, and peer critiques I have improved over
the course of the semester. At the beginning of the semester I had a problem with speed and using
to many "filler" words. As the year progressed, my speed became more and more controllable and
I used less and less filler words. After my most recent speech, I'm still not quite at the level I want
to be at, but I am far better than I was at the very beginning. I think just speaking in front of people
more than I am used to doing has helped me develop better speaking skills and grow in my ability to
effectively communicate with others. Throughout the semester I learned a lot about speaking,
performing, and

They all love homemade food instead of fast food because they say it is delicious. Talking with
people who cook at home, most stated that they make fresh ingredients at home, like grind and

British Broad Casting, The World Health Organization recommends greatly reducing the intake
of processed foods, because it is not freshly made and people do not know how long it is been in

who cook at home have their own kitchen garden also, so all the vegetables are fresh and organic.
This gives us a great satisfaction and peace of mind that it is fresh cooked meals from our own

Before the wide spread availability of fast food restaurants, people always cooked their meals at

the one that looks the clearest for you. Start using the night–light The usual blue screen light is
actually rather bad for you in terms of getting rest. The unnatural light can shift your body clock and
make you feel like you don't need to sleep – it's no wonder we could spend hours staring at the

more natural to your eyes and which won't hinder your ability to sleep. You can change this setting

  • 2. Descriptive Essay About Summer Vacation "Hooray!" I shouted, I am so excited about today. Why am I so enthusiastic you may ask, because today is the first day of summer vacation. We were on our way to the beach Every year me and my family visit the beach for a whole month. So as you can see there is much to be excited about. As we drove along I could barely wait, I could smell the fresh, salty ocean air. I asked my parents "are we there yet." They replied with one word, yes! This year in particular is extra exciting because we are going to rent a new beach house. We had arrived as I leapt up out of the car to my dismay the new beach house wasn't as great as I had anticipated. My parents and I went for a walk around town. As I was dragged into the Pirate Museum I listened to stories of the pirates and their treasure. The stories were not at all what I had expected they surprisingly were very interesting. One story in particular was the most interesting about pirates who had supposedly buried their treasure on this very beach. When we returned home I went outside searched for more about this new found buried treasure. I felt the hot, dry rough grains of sand on my feet. As I searched I heard someone call out "hey what are you doing." As I looked up I saw the face of the kid from the beach house down the street. I replied, "I am looking for the buried treasure."The kids name was Joe and he wanted to help me on my quest. We decided that the next day we would look for clues around town. The next day we split up and looked for clues I went to learn more from the Pirates Museum and it's workers and he asked around people town and looked for other places that might help. From my second trip at the museum, I was told much more about the pirates who sailed the deadly ocean seas. I could practically feel the windy, cold rough seas of the ocean. I learned this city used to be the hideout for the pirates, and that there was also a map hidden somewhere to lead you to the treasure. Part of the map was kept here in a secret room but the rest was yet to be found. I was overjoyed with this incredible news and ran quickly to tell Joe. If we found the rest of the map we could find the treasure. I saw my new friend Joe walking towards me, he had also Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I would of had to reply with, "I tasted a new potato chip flavor, it was good. What did you do?", but that wasn't the case, because my parents then all of a sudden, in the very last minute scheduled a vacation, It was a three day vacation. The vacation consisted my family going to New Hampshire, Maine, then Boston. First of all, if you didn't know, New Hampshire is located South West from Maine. Go north, then wow! Hello Canada! When we first entered New Hampshire, there were buildings, students, and workers walking everywhere in different directions. It actually, sort of reminded me of New York City, of course New York City was more crowded, had more large buildings, and different, but still it reminded me of New York City. My family went to New Hampshire riding a car, so we had been in the car for seven hours. Well we kept driving North, the outside started to change, the buildings became less more common, then before I knew it there were trees in everywhere, just no trees on the path we drove on. There were yellow deer crossing signs ornamented the tall and green trees. Then when we arrived at the inn, I mean to go to the inn, we took like three stops to ask where this inn was. The inn was around trees, were we had to park the car was not the parking lot you would see normally. The parking lot had no lines to indicate where to park. • 17. Speech Reflection Essay During speech class this semester, I gave several different types of speeches on several different topics. During this semester, my ability to give speeches in front of an audience has improved quite a bit, I hope. Going into the semester, I had a really hard time giving speeches to people, but now that speech is almost over I feel like I am more capable of doing so. I think the thing I did best during the semester was getting good information for each of my speeches. My favorite assignment was most likely the impromptu speech. I really liked that one because we did not have to prepare an outline or anything like that, we just got to go up there and speak. During this semester, I learned a lot about how to give speeches such as the proper way to stand so I do not rock, or how to use my hands to emphasize my points. In the future, I think that I will be able to control my speed better during my speeches which will help the people I am presenting to understand my message. I think the skills I have acquired during speech will help me for the rest of my life. No matter what career I choose, I am sure that at some point I will have to present to someone about something. The skills I learned in speech will also help me just communicate with people in a one on one situation easier than I do now. I can use these skills throughout the rest of high school and through my six years of college still to come because whenever I have to present a project I will know how to effectively communicate my message to my audience. Based off of all of my reflection sheets, video evaluations, and peer critiques I have improved over the course of the semester. At the beginning of the semester I had a problem with speed and using to many "filler" words. As the year progressed, my speed became more and more controllable and I used less and less filler words. After my most recent speech, I'm still not quite at the level I want to be at, but I am far better than I was at the very beginning. I think just speaking in front of people more than I am used to doing has helped me develop better speaking skills and grow in my ability to effectively communicate with others. Throughout the semester I learned a lot about speaking, performing, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
