2. What is Hydrocelectomy
Hydrocelectomy is a surgery to correct a hydrocele. Tunica vaginalis covers the front
and sides of male testes. When this membrane gets accumulated with a peritoneal
fluid it is called a hydrocele.
Causes of hydrocele:
Hydrocele is usually congenital which is caused due to the failure of the membrane
of the testicle that descends with the testicles in the fetus to close. Due to this the
abdominal fluid flows into the scrotum. If this occurs in children, time is given for
surgery because they often close by itself in due time.
Hydrocele also develops slowly in due time causing overproduction of the fluid due
to a defect in the tunica vaginalis .
