3. In virtual classes there are certain challenges that are
being faced by educators as well as students. In this
study we are going to focus on challenge present in
higher education during lockdown and suggestion for
addressing this concern with agile methods in teaching
and learning
As Covid-19 pandemic turned professional and
personal worlds upside down. Online learning emerged
as a safe and viable option for education continuity
4. This paper is based on study of Challenges faced in
online teaching and learning for post graduate
courses
Through this study we provide suggestion to solve
problem faced by students in lockdown period in
online teaching/learning.
5. Challenges faced in online teaching and learning for post
graduate courses this means challenge faced by both students
and teachers.
online education has improved the quality of education and it
has become easy not only for students who can refer to content
as per their convenience but also for the professors and
institutes to teach creatively without needing a classroom
interaction.
As pandemic forced shift in offline to online there are
limitations such as time management, adaptability, motivation,
technical difficulties.
6. How agile model can help virtual learning:
Agile values are followed currently in many of the software development
companies. Higher Technical education students can benefit by introducing agile
values in their career.
Problems faced by students in lockdown:
Online Security
◦ teachers conduct online classes through free platforms such as ZOOM and
Google Classroom. Need for secure options is heightened.
Monotony
◦ challenges associated with online learning is monotony and boredom induced by
increased exposure to the screen as well as the modus operandi of sitting at one
restricted spot for prolonged hours.
Students are gaining education via online classes post pandemic. The challenges
faced by students like exams, entrance test are postponed temporarily and colleges
closed for uncertain time and cannot operate from their campus physically until
situation gets under control. Virtual labs are not as effective as physical.
7. Some of the collaboration tools which are used in market are:
1. Google classroom
2. Microsoft teams
3. Google drive
The professors do not read each message typed by student because of time restrictions.
We can introduce Natural language processing uses sentiment analysis and find out the
concerning chats of students with the system and forward it to the professors. This app
will keep track of user mobile activity- speed of typing, scrolling, swiping etc. And
keep the measurements. Helps during exams to keep track of answer sheets submitted
8. 1. Affordability:
Online education is more affordable over traditional. Students can
save both time and money for travelling to reach institute. Students should
have access to mobile phones, tablets, laptops, stable internet and electricity.
2. Advancement in Learning technology:
More advanced visual technologies may also find their way into the
e-learning industry. These technologies include virtual reality (VR) and
augmented reality (AR). VR refers to the technology that provides users
with an immersion experience that aims to shut out their actual physical
environment. Meanwhile, AR adds digital elements to a live view produced
by a digital device’s camera
9. 3. Social Impact:
In all over world Higher Education students are major source of
economy development. They get major support in learning through agile way
of teaching as agile practices have benefited many organizations.
Collaboration skills will positively impact growth of industry professionals.
4. Impact on student and professors:
Students will use Agile Methods in their learnings. Agile values
include involvement all team members throughout process similarly students
will take part in learning throughout education in creating projects. Cross-
functional teams, collaboration and increased interactions amongst individual
are also agile values students will learn to listen to and respect other students
which have different skills than their own.
10. 5. Economical impact:
Technology forms major source in economic development hence involving agile
methods from education level will give students more confidence in using their skills at
work.
6. Technological impact:
Videos are effective way of learning than text document. Developing interactive video
based apps to create engaging user experience is at rise. Many platforms are developed
now a days example skype, Google Meet, Zoom Meeting, Microsoft teams, Facebook
live.
7. Assessments:
Post lockdown there is environment of uncertainty in students and teachers regarding
assessments as there is need of trial and error until we find a safe medium to
communicate securely. Students should use ethical way of attending exams and
assessments should be fare. Students should be able submit their responses timely
without delay while taking online assessments.
11. These new technologies are still in their early stages of development,
they required thorough research to ensure the proper use in academic
teaching. Mostly these agile model-based teaching and learning are useful
for higher technical education to help teachers and student to able to learn
in rapidly changing situations, but they are not replacement for actual in
teachers. Also, In agile model conditions changes are required. It is true
that these technologies have more positive effects than negative effects,
they help learners to reach out for education through online access and
students also giving positive response towards this new innovation. To get
accepted by higher technical education field these technologies have to
work hard on curriculum design. If they do, there might be a window that
education field will use them in delivering quality education.

replaces traditional physical teaching methods
“School’s Out, But Class’s On”
This means colleges operate through online platform
In agile every iteration involves cross functional teams
working simultaneously on various areas like −
• Planning
• Requirements Analysis
• Design
• Coding
• Unit Testing and
• Acceptance Testing.
14. Learning agility is the ability held by an individual to
adapt to unfamiliar situations, learn quickly, and in a
mostly self-managed way.
Introduction of agile in online learning in such a
challenging times of pandemic will positively impact
post graduate courses.
