recycled or FSC-certified.
22. Sustainably Sourced Palm Oil
Globally, the IKEA goal is to source
100% of palm oil from sources
independently verified as sustainable
and responsible by the end of this year
23. This means the oil in IKEA candles
will be traceable to producers that
are certified as sustainable: from
plantation to manufacturer.
24. IKEA is preparing to go beyond the global
standard by 2017. We want to ensure palm
oil in our products does not come from
plantations contributing to deforestation in
any way.
26. IKEA was the first retailer to eliminate plastic
bags in Malaysia in 2011. We have donated
MYR 300,000 from our blue-bag sales to
WWF’s Eco Schools Programme
