PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Associate Agent Program provides business professionals seeking an entrepreneurial startup opportunity with
access to a 24-month business support program and a nationally recognized brand. You will have the opportunity
to work with representatives of the Companies who can help you develop additional skillsets you can leverage in
your business. In addition to learning from experienced industry professionals, Associate Agents will have access
to the award-winning University of Farmers®
training program, which includes resources designed to help enhance
knowledge and introduce tools that may help the Associate Agent grow as a business owner. If an Associate Agent
meets all applicable eligibility requirements, they will have an additional agent appointment opportunity, if such an
opportunity is available.
ASSOCIATE AGENT APPOINTMENT PROCESS
Background Check
To be eligible for the Associate Agent Program, potential candidates must pass a background check in accordance
with Farmers®
guidelines, policies and procedures. The background check will cover three (3) major areas:
• State, Federal and County Criminal History
• Regulatory Actions
• Financial Responsibility
The candidate will need to pass all criteria in the Agency Owner Candidate Background Review Guidelines to be
considered for this program. The current Agency Owner Candidate Background Review Guidelines (31-7672) can
be found on the Agency Dashboard.
Appointment
Prior to being approved as an Associate Agent, a candidate must be fully licensed (property, casualty, life and health
licenses). There is no minimum liquid asset requirement for an Associate Agent.
If a candidate is approved, the respective district or Territory Office will submit the Associate Agent Packet (32-9499)
via DocuSign®
. Once Agency Services receives, reviews and finalizes the submission, a confirmation notice will be
sent to the Territory Office and the district office (if applicable).
ADDITIONAL APPOINTMENT OPPORTUNITY
Requirements
Associate Agents will have 24 months, beginning on their appointment date as an Associate Agent, to complete all
eligibility requirements in place at the time to become appointed under an Agent Appointment Agreement, which
may change from time to time in the Companies’ sole discretion. The Companies may communicate the applicable
eligibility requirements or any changes to such requirements through bulletins, email or other media.
An Associate Agent seeking appointment under an Agent Appointment Agreement must meet the following
minimum criteria to be eligible for appointment consideration:
• Active property, casualty, life and health licenses.
• Achieve $250,000 in Cumulative New Business Gross Folio Premium (GFP) within 24 months after their
appointment date as an Associate Agent. The premium must be written in the Associate Agent’s producer code.
Eligible New Business GFP is capped at $5,000 per policy and excludes CEA, Flood, and Kraft Lake® business.
Note: If an Associate Agent is seeking appointment as a Retail agent, the Cumulative New Business GFP target
will be lowered to $180,000.

Associate Agent training program.
• Complete a panel interview with Farmers representatives (e.g., the Area Sales Manager and Market Leader).
Process
When an Associate Agent meets the above minimum criteria, he or she can submit a request to the district office or
the Territory Office for an agent appointment through an Agent Appointment Agreement. The Territory Office will
review the request and validate production and training requirements with the following reports:
• e-Folio Premium Summary Report – to verify that the production requirements were met by the Associate Agent
• University of Farmers Online Training Transcript – to validate that the Associate Agent training modules were
successfully completed
Once the above criteria has been validated by the Territory Office, the Territory Office will seek final approval from
the Home Office Agency Recruiting and Development team. If the Territory Office and Home Office approve the
Associate Agent for appointment through an Agent Appointment Agreement, the agent appointment procedure
currently in place will apply.
ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS
The terms and conditions of the Associate Agent Program are subject to change, including program termination, at
