1. Guerrilla Marketing – Nikki Shails
Types of marketing tools:
Posters
Billboards
Trailers
Adverts on magazines and newspapers
She works for ‘Lady fest’ (the marketing side) and she has come today to give us an intro and idea on what lady fest is about and what kind of marketing tools that we should consider and how we will publicize our campaign.
386588035560We talked about what is ‘guerrilla marketing’ which is a ‘surprise attack’. This is a technique people use when they are working with a small budget and this means that we have to be creative with how we take our approach on promoting the festival.
With guerrilla marketing it doesn’t cost a lot of money but lots of time and effort.
What Nikki told us to be creative and come up with an idea that would stand out such as ‘street art’ she said that we had to think about how not to break the law during the process like clean graffiti (working on a dirty surface).
An example of what she done to promote is the ‘The great cake Escape’. What she done was bake loads of cupcakes and put a message on a toothpick to promote something. This type of campaign or promotion technique creates free publicity and that doesn’t cost you a thing e.g. from this event the local newspaper wrote about it.
45910501295402390775198755-18859552070
http://www.myspace.com/thegreatcakeescape
