And that’s all about operationalizing the information and data that runs your organization allowing you to free data management and integration processes that traditional vendors would have kept bound in their specific IT domains. With data services, you now have reusable and portable elements that you can use across applications making the management of data across these domains much, much easier. And that’s what we provide when we combine Talend Integration Suite and Talend ESB.

- Before and after
- Data Virtualization is the replacement of brittle point-2-point connections a services layer. All consumers of data go through a standard API, rather than directly connecting to the data itself. This architecture is systematically applied for cloud and SAAS based solutions. Organizations need that flexibility and agility to run their application in these virtual cloud environments. By de-coupling the consumer from the underlying data, applications can address the global consumer as location is transparent, be more easily clustered for scalability and address concerns about security by systematically enforcing authorization within the API that services export to their consumers.
- Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a set of principles and methodologies for designing and developing software in the form of interoperable services. These services are well-defined business functionalities that are built as software components (discrete pieces of code and/or data structures) that can be reused for different purposes. SOA design principles are used during the phases of systems development and integration.Talend Data Service enables organization to apply SOA principles to abstract data sources.
- But not all businesses in need of an integration solution are as large as Deutsche Post. A large university in Sydney Australia was faced with challenges in the student enrollment process. The process involved making changes to 15 independent databases as well as applications hosted by partners. It would take over a week to enroll a student for the semester. Macquarie University chose Talend to consolidate their data and incorporated the ESB to provide distributed access to the registration process, enabling students to enroll in near real time. With Talend – and open source – Macquarie is able to reduce the time of enrollment from a week to minutes.
