2. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I am grateful to all those who helped me in this
survey. I am particularly thankful to Mr.
Chandranand, Mr. Balanand and Mr. Dassan
Sada whose dedicated work helped me in the
findings of all these valuable information during
the month of May-June in really so hot weather.
These people also ignored some threats given by
the village headman and his people. Without
fearing these, they encouraged me to complete
my survey. Without the help of these people I
would really not be able to reach all these
people.
3. INTRODUCTION
21st century India and one of its state, Bihar
which is always notorious for its poor condition
of food, education, health and sanitation,
government and its facilities provided to the
people. Today Bihar got its Mahadalit chief
minister which is from by caste Musahar. I am
trying to find out the conditions of the same
caste of my area. How these people are living
and what facilities they are getting from the
state as well as central government.
4. SURVEY
This survey is conducted during the month of
May-June 2014 with the help of some local
people who went house to house and asked
every family of these locality.
This locality is situated in Araria district which
one of the poorest district of Bihar. As per the
survey it has around 1350 citizens out of them

Survey is totally conducted by either me or by
people assigned by me. There no any
financial or any type of support by any
government or any NGO.

government. How much they are getting benefits
of government schemes and programs.
What can be done for the help of these people for
the upliftment of these people particularly in the
field of education, health, electricity, roads, access
of government facilities etc.
To find out the differences between these people
and other people of same areas and other part of
state and country.
6. REAL SITUATION
Less than 25% people are literate and most of
these people are studying in under 5th class
which is also because of some the scheme
started by the government. Around 1% people

The area is completely closed by many rivers all
around. The nearest main road is available at least
3 km from the locality. The situation become worst
when any emergency occurred.
The nearest primary health centre is in around 4km
away from the locality and there also very less
chance of availability of any doctor.
During rainy season people are forced to stay in
their homes or they have to cross the river without

A few Kachhi roads are available which is also not
joining all areas and during rainy season any two

Annapruna Yojana card. All the people are labour class
only but hardly 25% are having enlisted in
MGNAREGA .
Last time they worked in MGNAREGA in around 6
month ago for total of 10 working days. In last 12
months they had hardly 30 days work. For these works
they have not been paid. So they are also not
enthusised about this work.
Those who are having Antyodaya or Annapurna Yojna
card they hardly get these facilities 2-3 times in a
year and the remaining time they(PDS) say that the
scheme has not come.

30. SUGGESTIONS/RECCOMENDATIONS
Local panchayat representative should take care of all
government facilities and provide these people.
Panchayat head (Mukhiya) should work properly and
bring all scheme in this area.
For road, electricity and school he should raise voice to
the local MLA and MP.
State government should be strict for all the schemes
provided by them. Whether state or central
government facilities are provided on ground level or
only paper work is done.
Individual or NGO should take initiative to improve the
conditions of the locality.
