law History.
 One is, it referred the sod’s law which states
anything that can happen to a poor sod will.
 Another says, In 1866 Augustus De Morgan
wrote ‘Whatever can happen will happen’’.
Which is a positive view of murphy’s law.

5.  But, There was a real murphy. Captain Edward
A. Murphy was an engineer in Air force.
 Edward helped in the project called ‘Gee Whiz’.
 In the first test the team failed and then Edward
stated ‘If there are two ways to do something
and one of those ways results in
a disaster then he will do it in
that way’.

6.  After your hands become coated with grease,
your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to go
to the rest room.
 Any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least
accessible corner.
 If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy
signal and someone always answers.

7.  If you change queues or traffic lanes, the one
you were in will always move faster than the one
you are in now.
 The probability of meeting someone you know
increases dramatically when you are with
someone you don't want to be seen with.
 When you try to prove to someone that a
machine won't work, it will.

8.  Although Murphy's Law captures the pessimistic
view of the world very well, it doesn't stand alone.
 Some observer stated that Murphy was an
optimist.

Like-
Patton's Law - A good plan today is better than
a perfect plan tomorrow.

9.  Our attraction to Murphy’s law is nothing but our
sense of fatalism.
 Fatalism says that the things that happen to us
are unavoidable.
 Fatalism contradict the concept freewill too.
 Freewill – People make their own choices, so
result will be their own.

10.  So our connection with Murphy’s law is collision
between freewill and fatalism.
 Murphy’s law has two main aspects :
I. It reveals our undeniable stupidity.
Eg – I we given a chance to do something
wrong half the time we will do so.
II. It reveals our lack of control.
Eg – If we stuck in the slowest lane of the
traffic.

11.  Things happens always but only noticed when
become inconvenience.
Eg – Aircraft in the sky.
 Other forces also work when we consider the
Murphy’s law.
Eg- a piece of buttered bread will always land
butter-side down.
It is not because of Murphy’s law but because
of gravity.

12.  Murphy's Law doesn't prove anything. It doesn't
even explain anything. It simply states that
things will go wrong.
 Murphy's Law reminds engineers, computer
programmers and scientists of a simple truth -
systems fail.
 Murphy’s law aware us that always install the
fail-safes.

13.  Fail-safes are referred as ‘Idiot Proofs’.
 Murphy’s law still has tendency to strike, even
the care (Idiot Proofs) has been taken against
the failure.
 So, this leads us to compare murphy’s law with
one more law called “Grave’s Law”. Which state
that:
"If you make something idiot-proof, the
world will create a better idiot."
