or SMS text, email or send a letter to the
parents to request a reason for the absence.
Update any unexplained marks once reasons
have been
provided.

Manage partial or full school closure, via
recording an exceptional
circumstance.
Given a reason for the closure, any
recorded attendance marks will be
overwritten by the selected code, ‘#’
or ‘Y’ for the date period selected.

28. We have been using PARS for two years. We now have a much
better picture on attendance. We know who is in, and the accuracy
is dependent upon the user and not the software. We didn't have
lesson registers until PARS, now we can quickly see who has
disappeared. Our Attendance Officers use it all the time and
attendance is now better than it was before. We also use the
messaging and notices facilities on PARS and find its
communications features very helpful – Steven Cleaver, ICT

PARS started to prove an essential tool and was expanded to all
lessons. It informed staff if a student had been missing from even one
lesson. This proved essential in a battle for attendance. Our
