1. You don't need long arms to
embrace the world; you need
English.

2. Imagine yourself in a world where globalization
doesn´t exist. Information is scarce and other
cultures are something to imagine. Brazilian
books are the main source of research,
therefore, your community has a public library
where everybody has access to these sources.
if something is scarce, there is not very much of it available.
3. Now, in this world, you discover that a global
language is emerging, and in this way people
will have access to a lot more information and
cultures. But, there is a problem: this language is
not the one that you learned as a child. So, you
´ll have to learn how to speak, read and write all
over again.
•How would you feel?
4. How do you feel about having
ONE language to globalize the world?
Are you for? Are you against?
5. 80% of the world´s electronically stored
information is in English. English and
globalization have spread hand in hand through
the world. And, in the same way that the
direction of the wind doesn't determine the
sailor's destination, the language we speak will
not determine our destiny.
6. By electing English as the world language, the
history sentenced all non-English speaking
countries to become the illiterate people of the
coming future. Besides that, if English do
become the global language, what is going to
happen with our language?
•Illiterate: someone who is illiterate has not learned to read or to write.
