Super Bowl XLIV will be the 17th Super Bowl broadcast by CBS Sports. This slide show looks at some of the history of CBS Sports, the NFL, and the Super Bowl.

3. CBS's first attempts to broadcast the NFL on television were notable for there being no broadcasting contract with the league as a whole.
