• lastminute.com, sold to Sabre for $1.1bn.
Brent was CEO from its inception, guiding
the company to profit and gross bookings
of >$2bn, acquiring 14 businesses post-
IPO, with annual core brand growth of >
100% from ‘98-’04;
• PROfounders, a £26m London-based seed
fund; firstminute a $100m London-based
seed fund;
• MADE.com,a direct-from-factory consumer
crowd-sourced homewares retailer, with
$73m in funding to date;
• Founders Forum, a series of intimate annual
global events for leading entrepreneurs and

Justus is Chief Product Officer
Before joining the Factory, Justus was
Head of Platform for HERE, formerly
Nokia Maps, in charge of this global
door-to-door routing platform used by
Microsoft, Amazon, Yahoo, and
Garmin. As a part of HERE’s precursor
startup, Gate5, Justus helped build
Nokia’s Maps and Transit applications,
putting mobile navigation in the hand
of hundreds of millions of users every
year.
Justus started life as a C++ front end
software engineer in the financial
services sector in the Silicon Valley
Jeffrey is Chief Scientist
Before joining the factory, Jeffrey
worked on reverse-engineering the
human visual cortex at Imperial
College and co-founded two startups
on internet-scale visual search and AI
reasoning on scientific articles, raising
on aggregate £MM of funding. Jeffrey
has deployed large-scale AI for Tier 1
Silicon Valley players and advised
startups and big corporates on sales
personalisation, recommendation
engines, medical imaging, AI that
design websites and social platforms
that mix fashion, image recognition
and recommender systems.
Author on 3 patents and over 45
scientific publications
Paul is Chief Technology Officer
Paul has been working in tech for over
20 years, and has been founders or
CTO at multiple startups including
xrnd, mydeco and Rockpack.
Prior to getting hooked on the startup
drug, Paul held senior engineering
positions in a number of global
corporations including Motorola and
Disney.
