A Cloud Concept of Customer Relations Management with SugarCRM
1. “ A Cloud Concept of Customer
Relations Management with SugarCRM
”
Conference session by Sergey Sundukovskiy
Cloud computing sets a new trend in the way IT infrastructure operates, enabling greater
responsiveness and lower costs across companies of all sizes. There are many Cloud
products presented in the market today to help companies satisfy their growing needs for
powerful performance and functionality. Cloud products and Cloud-targeted applications
are designed for companies that are either building their applications in the Cloud from
scratch or that are replacing substantial portions of their federated services. This session
is aimed at helping Cloud runners and Cloud starters choose the Cloud products and ser-
vices that suit their business and technology requirements so as to help them avoid costly
mistakes.
SESSION DESCRIPTION
In the course of this session, the speaker will give a detailed overview of the top industry
Cloud products and services. He will focus on SugarCRM, an open source Customer Rela-
tionship Management (CRM) system. After attending this event, you will be able to find out
how SugarCRM can be implemented in your Business Environment.
OUTLINE
What is SugarCRM?
SugarCRM is an open source Customer Relationship Management system. Its archi-
tecture allows companies to customize and integrate client-oriented processes in order
to build and maintain business relationships. The speaker will start by giving an over-
view of SugarCRM’s basic features. Attendees will learn about both its on-site and
hosted editions, as well as the Data Center Edition, which allows ISPs to offer their
own hosted versions of the software to their end-users. The session will also cover
SugarCRM's Sugar Community Edition, Sugar Professional, and Sugar Enterprise.
Sugar Community Edition is available under the GPL v3 at SugarForge, SugarCRM's
community development Web site. Both Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise can
be deployed on-site or delivered over the Web via the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
model.
The speaker will explain how SugarCRM supports sales-force automation (contact and
account management), marketing automation (lead management, analytics), and cus-
tomer support (case management, bug tracking). In addition, he will touch upon plat-
form collaboration, project management, an Outlook plug-in, and the management
tools presented in SugarCRM.
2. “ A Cloud Concept of Customer
Relations Management with SugarCRM
”
Conference session by Sergey Sundukovskiy
Why SugarCRM?
The speaker will explain the advantages of SugarCRM as an open source Cloud prod-
uct that can be integrated with third-party data service providers. You will learn how
SugarCRM allows businesses to design and build custom applications that support
business processes outside the CRM (for example, HR and PR functionality). The
session will also cover how SugarCRM's open source architecture enables companies
to customize and integrate customer-facing business processes.
The speaker will touch upon the stack technologies that SugarCRM is built on. Sug-
arCRM is supported by the two most popular Web Servers: Apache HTTP server and
IIS, while its database is, actually, MySQL. The session will demonstrate how Sug-
arCRM runs on the most common operating systems, including Linux, Windows, and
Mac OSX.
SugarCRM Recommended Use
The speaker will explain how SugarCRM can help budget-critical businesses support
their sales and business model without making a major initial investment. He will also
focus on other real-world scenarios for companies that prefer to manage the software
themselves, downloading or purchasing SugarCRM as an appliance. Finally, the
speaker will provide expert advice about your particular Business and Technology
needs.
SugarCRM Challenges
You will learn about the challenges related to managing customer relations in the
Cloud, including system administration and gathering comprehensive analytics data.
The session will cover the typical issues a company may face when customizing CRM
platforms and demonstrate use cases when this may become too expensive or never-
ending a process. The speaker will discuss some other challenges that were encoun-
tered during the implementation of real-world Cloud deployment projects.
Finally, you will be able to participate in a question-and-answer session, discussing the
challenges related to your specific Cloud Computing needs.
