2. REVIEW OF ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES
1. Students may appeal against the result awarded for any piece of assessment in any
unit in which they are enrolled. This includes the final result.
2. To have a piece of assessment reviewed; students must complete the Review of
Assessment Application form and submit it to MIBT within 3 working days of the
publication of the result of the piece of assessment.
3. Applications for a review of assessment will be considered by the Unit Coordinator
in consultation with the lecturer(s) concerned.
A review of assessment consists of a check that all the procedures for determining
the (final) grade have been followed correctly. It does NOT require a re-marking of
work.
4. Where a review of assessment in a Diploma unit leads to a change of final result, a
recommendation will be made to the Unit Chair at Deakin University for
consideration.
5. Students will be notified of the outcome of an application for a review of
assessment by email. If there is any change made to a unit grade, the amended
result will appear on the student portal.
