stars. Probably they knew the story of the Messiah’s birth from

captivity and teaching the people of the East.

* Matthew tells us in his account that the wise men found the “young
child” in a house. By the time that they arrived much time had passed
since they had first seen the star. Jesus was now a young child. Thus Herod
ordered all baby boys 2 years and younger to be killed according to the
wise men’s account of when they first saw the star.

who was also expecting.

Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least
among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a
ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’”

frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a
dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their
