Dried chilies are products obtained by drying the
fresh ripe fruit of the paprika, which is a plant from
the Capsicum genus.
Dried chilies can be naturally sun-dried or
dehydrated in hot air circulation tunnels. Dried
chilies are produced in different forms, but there
are three main forms: as a whole, crushed flakes
and ground powder. Crushed or ground chillies
can be produced with or without seeds.

PRODUCER WITH DRY CHILIES PRODUCTION OF 2.1
MILLION METRIC TON IN 2017. INDIA IS THE W ORLD’S
LEADING PRODUCER OF DRY CHILIES ACCOUNTING FOR
MORE THAN 35% IN 2017 OF THE GLOBAL DRY CHILIES
MARKET FOLLO WED BY THAILAND, ETHIOPIA, CHINA, AND
PAKISTAN.
5. Global Importers
Dry red chilies contain Vitamin A and C which is
important for healthy mucous membranes and it
reduces the risk of prostate cancer cells through
various mechanisms. Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka,
USA, and Spain are the largest importers of dry chilies,
together contributing a share of 66.37% of world
imports in 2017.
