CSD Rise Multi Cable & Pipe Sealing System - Features : Simple and effective : RISE Duct Seals are a multi-cable and pipe transit sealing system providing an effective and simple solution to all fire, gas and water tight duct sealing requirements. Few Components : RISE Duct Seals system consist of only two components - 1) rubber insert sleeves used to guarantee cable separation and as a backing for the sealant layer, 2) FIWA sealant, a high quality silicone based, fire resistant, water repellent sealant which makes the duct seal system quick and easy to install. Water and Gas Tight : RISE Duct Seals provide high elasticity and bonding strength which resists movement, shock and vibration providing a stable duct seal. RISE rubber insert sleeves are applied to provide cable separation and a backing for the application of the FIWA sealant. 60mm RISE sleeves are adequate for water and gas tight duct sealing. Fire, Water and Gas Tight : RISE Duct Seals using rubber insert sleeves at a length of 160mm and applying FIWA sealant to both faces of the opening will provide a fire tight duct seal. Flexible and Versatile : RISE Duct Seals can be used in vertical and horizontal ducts. RISE rubber insert sleeves cling to the cables without sliding down and falling out of the penetration. The high adhesion and viscosity of the duct sealant means it will not run or drip when applied overhead. Adding and Removing Cables : RISE Duct Seals allow the installing of additional cables - it is a simple matter of coring into the soft rubber of the sealant to a depth of 20mm and passing the additional cables through the opening created. The duct sealant is then applied around the new cable to re-seal - there is no need to disassemble the transit system.

High Visibility Clothing is a mandatory requirement for all persons associated with rail track or lineside working. With most of the work undertaken on active railways, both day, night and under different weather conditions, it is very important that the highest level of visibility is maintained. ProGARM supply a high visibility orange range of protective clothing which complies with the GO/RT 3279 standard specified by the rail industry - orange high visibility garments are designed for workers on or near the rail trackside, this includes hi-visibility orange trousers, jackets, coveralls, polo shirts and sweatshirts. There are specific standards this high visibility clothing has to meet to be worn on the UK rail network: GO/RT 3279 - the 'minimum requirements for high-visibility clothing for being conspicuous on the lineside or on or near the line'. Colour: Orange. BS EN471 - The minimum requirements for high visibility clothing worn as part of personal protective equipment, conforming to the class 2 specification in respect of the minimum area of visible materials. All high visibility PPE garments have to incorporate both fluorescent and retro-reflective materials. The railway standard specifies the high visibility warning clothing to be orange meeting the GORT 3279 standard. Railway Group Standard GO/RT 3279 GO/RT 3279 standard is based on the European standard EN 471:2003 + A1:2007. GO/RT 3279 requires garments to meet at least class 2 (the mid-point of a 3-class scale) of EN 471 for the minimum area of high-visibility materials used within a garment. Whereas the European standard permits several different colours of high-visibility materials, the Railway Group Standard specifies an orange colour. Railway locomotive headlights pick out retro-reflective materials in high-visibility clothing. Again, the Railway Group Standard GO/RT 3279 draws on EN 471:2003 + A1:2007 and specifies materials for use that meet the highest level of photometric performance criteria that are specified within the standard. GO/RT 3279 also defines the requirements for a high-visibility minivest. These are required to conform to class 1 design requirements of EN 471:2003 + A1:2007, except they need to exceed the requirements in EN 471 for both the minimum area of the orange background material and retro-reflective tape in the garment.

Syngulon’s technology expands the capacity for selection of microorganisms. The ability to select individual microbes with a behavior of interest is essential, whether for simple cloning at the bench, or for industry-scale production. Synthetic biology uses the concept of “bioengineering” to improve or modify existing genetic systems to create microbes with desired behaviors, and Syngulon uses this approach to develop its selection technologies. This selection technology is based on bacteriocins, ribosomally-produced peptides naturally made by most bacteria to kill competitive microbial species. These bacteriocins can have a limited or wide target range against other microbial species. This technology offers advantageous over antibiotic selection for several reasons: it avoids the use of antibiotics in the first place, helping to reduce the spread of antibiotic resistant microbes. The technology also increases product yield; as bacteriocins are generally smaller peptides, they do not impose a heavy metabolic burden on the producing cell. They can have a wide target specificity, helping to avoid genetic drift. Finally, our system is 100% plasmid-based (e.g. without chromosomal mutations), making it applicable for use in any E. coli strains.
