menjadi –y kemudian ditambahkan akhiran –ing
Lie (lying), die (dying), tie (tying)
4 Verb berending vokal & konsonan, maka
konsonan terkahir dirangkap dan ditambah -ing

5 Verb berakhiran dengan 2 huruf ‘e’ (rangkap

NO MEMBENTUKV-ing EXAMPLE 1 Verb diakhiri silent –e, Hilangkan huruf e, ganti menjadi “I” dan tambahkan akhiran –ing Dance (dancing); create (creating), make (making), write (writing). 2 Verb berakhiran 1 konsonan-vokal-konsonan (KVK), menambahkan huruf terakhir yang sama sehingga akhiran konsonan menjadi double. Chat (chatting), run (running), sit (sitting), stop (stopped), 3 Verb berakhiran –ie, mengubah akhiran –ie menjadi –y kemudian ditambahkan akhiran –ing Lie (lying), die (dying), tie (tying) 4 Verb berending vokal & konsonan, maka konsonan terkahir dirangkap dan ditambah -ing Sit (sitting), cut (cutting), swim (swimming), run (running) 5 Verb berakhiran dengan 2 huruf ‘e’ (rangkap ‘ee’) maka cukup dengan menambahkan –ing See (seeing), free (freeing) 6 Verb berending huruf “L”, dan didahului huruf vokal tungal, maka L harus dirangkap, dan ditambah -ing Travel (travelling), cancel (cancelling) 7 Verb umumnya langsung ditambahVing Act (acting), call (calling), enjoy (enjoying), eat (eating), drink (drinking), go (going),
