CASE STUDY: How Eaton Interactive Marketing turned a
$250,000 unprofitable media buy, initially losing $4,000 per day
into a profitable, 22% margin campaign in 10 days.
Before Eaton Interactive Marketing took over display campaign management:
- Overall display strategy suffered from lack of display specific expertise. Management was
  hoping for success in display due to their success in other channels, but the media buy began
  losing $4K / day.
- The Ad Serving Technology in use was “cheap” but was costing them thousands due to tracking,
  reporting, and optimization deficiencies.
- The Media Partner chosen was a good one for the product type, but not appropriate for the early
  stage of the advertiser’s display channel.
- The Insertion Order was much too large, inflexible, and overly optimistic. It lacked appropriately
  structured tests, as well as a clear exit or reallocation strategy.
- The Testing & Targeting Strategy was virtually non-existent. The advertiser saw competitors in
  certain placements and decided they should be there too.
- The Creative Strategy focused on “let’s see what works” rather than forward thinking strategies
  of isolating and iterating variables in a structured effort to increase CTR & overall conversion.
