2. Two chords
• If two chords intersect inside the
circle, the product of the parts of
one chord is equal to the product of
the parts of the other chord

3. Intersect outside the circle:
• If two secants intersect outside the
circle, the product of the length to
the circle and the entire length to
where it would exit the circle is equal
to the same parts on the other
secant

4. Intersect outside the circle part 2
• If a secant and a tangent intersect
outside the circle, the distance for
the tangent squared equals the
product of the length to the circle
and the entire distance from the
point of intersection to where it
would exit the circle

5. Clearer again please?
• Basically, if it intersects outside the
circle, you multiply the distance to
get to the circle times the entire
segment…if it is tangent, the
distance to the circle is the entire
segment (explaining why the length
gets squared).
