People buy from people. If you run a business, it's important to show who you are, and who your team is. This presentation, prepared by Keren Lerner from Top Left Design, shares some ideas of how you can add personality so people feel a connection with you, even online!

To build trust and credibility, you have to show who
you are in your business! Even if you feel shy or you
don’t think you're photogenic. Or you have a team of
shy people who think they aren’t photogenic!

them are my company’s way of showing our own
personality, and some are client examples. We share
a lot, hoping that this will make people want to meet
us. And it does!

You can include a picture of yourself on your
homepage as one of the sliders on your homepage.

Your blog can include some stories about your
team, so people can see who is in the business. You
can talk about new members of staff, events you
attended, team building days, “a day in the life”, and
posts from interns.

You can do some really creative things on your Team
page in your website. Get a professional photo shoot
organised for the team and ensure there is
consistancy between the pictures. It’s worth it.

These can be dotted throughout the site or even fed
through from Twitter. There is a WordPress plugin
called “Tweetstimonials” which shows your Twitter
favourites randomly fed through.

36. Now, your website is the home of
your business but you also can
exist, and show personality, on
your social media channels! Yay!

You can put your picture into your profile area, and
also in your Twitter background.

Share a little bit of what happens in your company by
putting in pictures from team events and what your
staff are up to in the office.

6 second videos can be a great way to show
fun, introduce the team and show activity.

You can include a Pinterest board with just images of
your team, showing behind the scenes images. But
this should be just one of your boards, be sure to
have a variety so people see how well rounded you
