When we talk about something that started in the past which hasn’t finished or is still true in the present we  use the  present perfect tense Look
Bird watchers  have seen  90 different species of birds. They saw them in the past but the number is important now and they might see more.
We  have studied  English for more than six years. We studied in the past and we are still studying.
We have been in grade 7 for _____ months
I have studied at this school for __________.
My family has lived in ________for _________.
The form has/have +  the  past participle . He / She / It  +  has I / you / we/ they  +   have   Many  past participles  end in –ed but others don’t  { eaten , thought , etc.}.
Examples I  have lived   here for ten years.  she  has walked  for an hour. They  have  just  gone  out. He  has broken  his leg and he is in the hospital now.
