- 2. About TPP • TPP are specialist charity recruiters • We have a dedicated fundraising team • In 2014, we met 802 fundraisers • and arranged 559 interviews for them
- 3. Are you worth it? • How could you demonstrate your value within your organisation? • Which of these are important to employers?
- 4. Why is value important? • A new member of staff is an investment for a charity – they need to be sure of a return • When choosing between candidates – which would you go for? • More candidates transferring from private sector – you need to compete
- 5. It’s all about targets • How many of you know your team target? • How many of you know your individual target? • If you don’t know it, you can’t measure it
- 6. Targets • How did you perform to target? • Then you can go into the detail • Can you link to outcomes?
- 7. Targets • What if you don’t know your individual target? • You need to start tracking NOW
- 8. Other KPIs • Partnership building – meetings, calls, etc • % uplift in size of partnerships • Different elements of corporate partnership – Major milestones met – Pitches done

- We really know fundraisers and talk to hundreds of them each week We go through interviews with every candidate we meet, and this is a snippet of the kind of things we talk about Experience – we have successfully recruited specialist charity employees since 1996 and our own staff tend to stay with the company for a long time, giving us a depth of knowledge of the sector. Expertise – our internal teams are divided up by specialisms, so our fundraising team only recruits fundraising staff. This gives our consultants a unique insight into both what our clients need and what is likely to motivate candidates. - Think of a couple of things and write down on your notes Ask people to read out their answers
- Performance to target: Did you achieve your target? Did you exceed it? By what %? How did you perform year-on-year?
- Get it from your line manager If they are reluctant to share, or you only have group target, you can still track your individual income generation and % contribution Need to start measuring now to build up track record Not just when you are looking for a job
