Netiquette guidelines
1. What is ‘Netiquette’
Netiquette is an internet form of ‘etiquette’. Since this is an online
course, everyone should be made aware on how to interact and
communicate effectively. We all know of the problems that exist when
not present or face to face with each one another, therefore we have
these guidelines to ensure none of these problems happen and we can
provide the best learningexperience for you.
While it may seem pretty obvious that we should all know how to
behave, but we have to be certain that everyone is well informed
clearly and concisely on the attitude and respect that is expected from
the participantsof this course.
Here are the netiquetterules:
1. Be kind, positive, kind and considerate in all forms of communication.
Treat people with the common courtesy you would like to be treated
yourself.
2. 2. Respect each other privacy. Please do not ask questions that are
too personal, and if someone declines to answer a question which he
or she find uncomfortable, please do not persist.
3. Use English to the best of your ability. As learners here are already
teachers, we expect everyone to use a level of English which is
reflected as such.
4. Respond to communication with a reasonable set time. We deem
24hrs a reasonable time set time when responding to Emails. We
shouldn’t inconvenience other learners who wish progress with the
course and it’s also a part of being respectful to others.
5. If you don’t understand anything, please ask. This is a learning
environment and it’s fine not to understand everything you may come
across. If this happens please don’t hesitate to message the teacher. It’s
very easy and you can do it in a variety of ways depending on how
urgent it is.
6. Respect each others opinions and learn from each other. Everyone
has their own views and in most cases there is no real right or wrong
3. answer. Please always polite when comment on each others work when
communicating. Also, please use every available opportunity to learn
from your peers if they have done great work. There may have been
some points you may have missed or you can see how certain task
could have been done better. Gather ideas and great example to help
improve yourown work, when doing further activities.
Finally, with these netiquette guide lines in place, we all hope you enjoy
learning on the course and have a great time having fun as well as
learning!
