This document discusses a project involving several universities working together in a cluster to improve initial teacher education training regarding special educational needs (SEN) and inclusion. The cluster trialed new SEN training materials and extended placements in special schools. Student teachers found the SEN placements valuable and it changed their views on inclusion. Teacher educators benefited from collaborating and saw potential to further develop SEN training across their programs. The cluster aims to evaluate the impact of SEN training and support ongoing improvements.
