Why Are You Applying For A Scholarship?
Write an essay (no longer than 200 words) to explain why you are applying for a scholarship.
Because some scholarships require financial need, you may want to include information on your
family's financial situation.
Coming from a single parent household finances are very tight. My father is not fiscally involved
and my mother holds two jobs to support her family. It's clear to me that there will be a heavy
burden of student loans. A scholarship would allow me the opportunity to become a first generation
college graduate. I have a strong desire to become a better person, to better provide for my family by
pursuing higher education. Becoming a business or civil rights lawyer has been my ambition since I
was a little. Discuss your passion

College Scholarship Benefits
A college education has been my main goal growing up, and this scholarship would help make
this opportunity possible. In the fall, I plan to attend Ohio State University and major in both
political science and biology. After earning my undergraduate degree, I would like to continue
my education and earn an advanced degree because my career goal is to become either a lawyer or a
doctor. However, one of the most difficult challenges I will face as I earn my degrees will be how I
can reduce the amount of debt I will incur. Therefore, scholarships like the Men's Club Civic
Involvement College Scholarship provide a means for me to help lower the cost of my education.
As a part of preparing for college, I have strived to become a well–rounded

Personal Student Scholarship Essay
Hi, Sister Carol Clark!
I am in great need. I have 12 credits left for my undergrad degree, and my financial aid has run
out. I've applied for a personal student loan but was not approved. However, I am short of $4,500
plus monies for my school books. Please note, if the agency can help me, this will be a loan. I am
very independent and won't to repay the monies make to "Exhale Women." I don't have supporting
documentation from Liberty University if need.

FASFA Scholarship
My grandmother was a nurse who helped deliver babies. Everybody who worked with her was
her friend and looked up to her including her patients. She passed away two years ago after
battling cancer. She is my inspiration and I hope to become a great nurse just like her. By being
awarded a scholarship I would be able to pursue my dream career and receive the education I need
to do so. I work full time and attend school full time and I'm doing everything on my own with no
financial support outside of loans. I have taken out loans to help me but I can't afford to keep
taking out loans. Even though I am required to use my parent's information for FASFA I do not
receive any financial help from them to complete my schooling. I am on my own. They make

Instead of saying I deserve this scholarship, I am going to justify my commendable work ethic, and
then you can decide whether or not I should receive this generous investment. I call it an investment
because at some point there is supposed to be material result, and that is my future.
Recently I have been accepted into Arizona State University for a degree in Aeronautical
Engineering. Along with the acceptance I have also obtained a Dean's scholarship, an award given
for academic merit and a number of other factors. Despite my degree of choice, and there is always
the possibility of change, I have plans to join the automobile industry as both of my parents have
before me. Even my letter of recommendation

My Scholarship: A Positive Impact On My Education
This scholarship would have a positive impact on my education and help my mom pay for college
without taking student loans. My mom has been a single mom for eighteen years and has supported
me, my brother, and grandparents. She does not receive child support on a regular basis and does
everything on her own. Unfortunately, my younger brother is an accident–prone child and has
racked up some high medical bills throughout the years. For countless years she has worked two
jobs to support everyone and provide anything within reason. My mom is currently unemployed due
to the downturn in the oil field in west Texas. Now she has taken on the challenge of remodeling
and flipping houses. I work a few partial jobs throughout the year to help my mom

Why I Want To Get A Scholarship
Like a lot of students applying for these scholarships, I do not come from the most fortunate
family. I was raised by a single mother. My mother did everything in her power to keep us afloat
in this rough world, including attending a community college to become a licensed practical nurse
while having a child at home. All my mother ever asked of me was to stay out of trouble and keep
my grades up so I can attend a good college. I knew that if I did not gain a scholarship to a school,
she would have to pay out of pocket for college. I could not put that burden on her shoulders
because I knew she could not afford it. With that motivation, I worked hard through all my years of
school to make the best grades possible. I managed to make my mother proud by being an honor
graduate from a predominantly white high school, making 24 on the ACT, and earning a full
scholarship to Alcorn State University to major in biology....show more content...
It was a culture shock to me coming from a mostly white high school to a historically black
college. It was also my first time away from home. I felt Alcorn was the going to be a place where
I could achieve my career goals, mature into a responsible young man, and have fun. However,
halfway through my first semester, I began to have too much fun and lose sight of why I was at
Alcorn. My grades slipped because of this and I dug myself into a hole I could not get out of. I
tried my hardest to bring my grades up next the semester but it was not enough. I finished with a
2.86–grade point average instead of the 3.0–grade point average I needed to keep my

Pursuing A $ 3, 000 Scholarship For Education
A $3,000 scholarship for education will make a major difference in my life. Pursuing a college
education has always seemed like a dream that I always wished I could embark on, and getting
$3,000 will ignite me to continue persevering for that dream. This scholarship will encourage me
to keep on finding more scholarships and applying to them, because I know I have the capability to
earn them. The most beneficial thing I could get, is gaining some financial relief that I will be able
to pay for some of my college tuition with this

Athletic Scholarships Essay
Athletic Scholarships
There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in
college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young,
Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the
pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into
professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not
only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for
many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional
athlete. Some people make it a reality, but...show more content...
After it's done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can't be complete without it
being baked. There can not be a missed step in the process. Could Mark McGwire have made it to
the pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or
Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown
University, or Steve Young without attendingBrigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster,
you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along
with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times
the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many
times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to
$25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4
year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living
expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is
that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The
University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of
spending that much money. Many people would

As I get closer to the end of my high school career, many questions arise about what I want to do in
my future. Sports are currently a big part of my life and I enjoy doing them, but I am torn about
whether or not I would like to continue playing them through college. To develop a plan for my
future, I wanted to research the pros and cons of playing a sport in college considering my academic
and financial status, as well as my ability.
Before I began my research, I addressed the information I already knew about playing college
sports. I knew it takes a lot of time and commitment, which could affect my academics. I also
know that college scholarships are not given for four years, but they are renewed after one year,
and they can be taken away at anytime. This is unsettling because if I were to get a scholarship, it
could be lost due to injury or other reasons....show more content...
I searched for graduation rates of student athletes to begin with. I again wanted a reliable source so I
searched for the NCAA statistics and found that 71% of student–athletes graduated at the division II
level, and 87% at the division I level. This information was useful, but it was not what I was
looking for. I wanted to know specifically about standings during the academic year. I searched for
this and found a book, The Game of Life which explains that students who participate in sports
during college have lower grade point averages than students at large. I went back to my interview
with Allen Hirsch and he confirmed this point when I asked him how playing a sport affected his
academics. He explained, "Sports affected my academics in a bad way because time was limited
and I did not plan my academics around athletic schedule." This makes me hesitant to play because I
do not plan to play sports professionally so if the preparation for my career is being compromised by
sports, this is

myself to always look for some way to help those in need I don't want to limit myself in one

Why I Chose Scholarship
I want to continue my education so I can get the best job I possibly can. I know the only way I
can achieve that goal is to continue my education. I also want to be financially stable so my kids
and wife never has to worry about being able to go on vacation, or going shopping, or helping out
friends and family when they need me. I want to be able to help, and it all starts with getting a good
job, which requires a higher level of education.
The reason I want to study exercise sciences is because I want to be an athletic trainer. I want a
career where I can help people and be around sports at the same time, and being an athletic trainer
would allow me to accomplish that. Being around athletes that remind me of my past self would be
so cool....show more content...
It is a wonderful state with many dedicated communities. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne are a
couple cities with an abundance of opportunities. However, Adams County is a fantastic place to
raise a family in my opinion. I'm definitely biased from growing up here and being a fifth
generation of the area, but I would recommend Adams County to anyone looking for with a value of
community that embraces the idea of a city of safety. I also believe that we are fortunate to be a
community that has three school districts that received high ratings not only at the state level but in
national rankings, which would create a desire to return Adams County to raise a family.
I know for sure of one thing that keeps college–educated people from returning to Adams County
after they have completed their education. First of all, I believe it all goes back to their high school
days. I know from experience, there is no significant activities for teenagers in Monroe, Berne, or
Decatur. Yes, in Decatur and Berne, we can bowl. But we can only bowl so much, and it can get
costly. Since as teens many find the area boring, when given the opportunity to move on from the
Adams County area. Then when drawn to larger cities that have more activities, they choose not to
return––with the exception to visit family. Secondly, the lack of economic growth outside of
manufacturing leaves little choices for college–educated individuals. For myself wanting to major

Receiving this scholarship would not only mean a lot to myself but to my family also. I think I
have worked hard all year in order to receive this and it will benefit my financial aid greatly. This
scholarship would mean that all the hard work has really paid off, especially my family who has
been supporting me from the beginning. If received this scholarship, it is not about money for me. It
tells me that I am seen as having potential, for the future in the society and nursing program.

Scholarships are a great way to a free college education. There are many prospective college
students who use several other means for funding their college education such as grants, or loans.
Grants are funds that do not have to be repaid. Student loans usually have to be repaid. There are
several ways how to pay for college, and start off your college career with scholarships.
When starting your search for college scholarships, you should consider your current student status.
Are you a new high school graduate? Are you pursuing a second degree or advanced degree? What
field do you wish to pursue? The answer to these questions may determine where you start your
search for scholarships. If you're a recent high school graduate, you may...show more content...

education and science. You may search the internet for these type scholarships, or you may check
with a representative from the financial aid office at the institution that you wish to attend for more
information about these types of unique scholarships.
There are some scholarships that are institution based. You may check with a financial aid counselor
at the institution that you wish to attend to find out if you meet the criteria for any scholarships that
they have available. They will usually inform you of what's available at their institution, and there
may or may not be additional requirements to apply for the scholarship. Some scholarships may
require you to write an essay, or maintain a certain grade point average to keep the scholarship.
There are also many scholarships available to prospective students who are athletes. There are
many generous scholarships available for students who wish to play football, basketball, baseball,
golf, track & field, cheerleading, softball, or other sports. This is usually based on the type of sports
that are offered by the institution that you wish to attend. Many college athletes are recruited prior
to enrollment, but there are opportunities available for

Receiving A Scholarship
Receiving a scholarship will impact my career gravely, not only will this help me to continue my
studies, but it will also help me in my studies, so that I may not stay focused on the money aspect of
things. While being in college the thing to stress about the most should have to be studying and
staying on track with your assignments, but money plays a huge part in a college students life. We
have to be aware of how much money we are putting into our career and not get behind on bills,
but in trying to keep up with those bills, working long hours at a minimum wage paying job,
trying to volunteer and studying, we, or I as a student get very overwhelmed from time to time. So,
receiving a scholarship will be load off of all the stress I put on my shoulders on a daily basis. Not

Since I was young, I loved to hang out with kids, and I liked to teach them and play or talk to
them. I thought that their love for knowledge was amazing and it taught me to be more curious
and to ask more questions. I felt nervous every time I was around them, but as time went, I got
more and more comfortable around kids. I wanted to babysit them at first, so I took a course in
Vancouver, Canada and I got a certificate with my friend!
Ever since then, my interest in teaching only grew and grew. When I was in high school, I helped my
juniors with their studies and also helped them concentrate if they ever needed help with that, also
explained concepts. Ever since then, I always dreamed about doing it as a profession, because

Scholarships To Achieve My Educational Goals
The opportunity of scholarships would help me achieve my goals of going into education by
lightening the financial burden school has put me under. Work and school consume most of my
week but any extra time is donated to COS young republican club and donating blood. I am the first
in my family to attend college, I strive to do better for myself than what I was born into. A
scholarship would help me postpone student loans for as long as possible and allow me to earn my
teaching credentials.
My current education goals are to earn my bachelor's degree to begin teaching at an elementary
school level. My education wouldn't stop there, I would continue to attend school to work towards
my masters degree to teach at a college level. My dream is to teach history and to create a love for
it in my students....show more content...

my political party. Because of work and school I can't put in as much time as I would like so, I also

in foster care. My mom worked hard to save me from those situations and now I work hard
everyday to build a better life for myself. As the first person in my family to attend college my goal
is not just to graduate at the top of my class but to move past them and achieve my life's ambition to
become a teacher; not held back by my family situation.
All things considered, my need for a scholarship is high. A scholarship would allow me to focus on

Should Scholarships Be Paid?
A lot of students have big dreams, those mainly and mandatorily need some college degree to
realize. Some of them dream about to be doctors, lawyers or engineers, the only way to realize
those dreams is go to the college and get the degree. Everyone can go to the college, but
sometimes it is hard due to the high cost of the colleges, but there are a lot of ways to pay less or
maybe nothing and saving a lot of money.
First off, scholarships are a really good and interesting way to pay the college. According to
HowToGo.com "There is scholarships for literally everyone". They are sure that everyone could get

The two types of the loans are Federal and Private loans. The difference between federal loans and

graduation. Federal loans, according to HowToGo.com have "No payments until six months
after you graduate". Federal loans provide a lot of benefits and also they have the lowest interest
all of this comes from the government , maybe it is not a better way to pay college than
scholarships because you have to pay back the money borrowed but it is a good and interesting
way to not leave out. Unlike private loans, this type of loans comes from private businesses, if
you chose this way you have less to take care because you do not have to pay the money borrowed
back, private student loans allow you to borrow from $500 up to the cost of education

A scholarship would allow me the opportunity to become a first generation college graduate. I have a strong desire to become a better person, to better provide for my family by pursuing higher education. Becoming a business or civil rights lawyer has been my ambition since I was a little. However, one of the most difficult challenges I will face as I earn my degrees will be how I can reduce the amount of debt I will incur. Therefore, scholarships like the Men's Club Civic Involvement College Scholarship provide a means for me to help lower the cost of my education. As a part of preparing for college, I have strived to become a well–rounded Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. FASFA Scholarship My grandmother was a nurse who helped deliver babies. Everybody who worked with her was her friend and looked up to her including her patients. She passed away two years ago after battling cancer. She is my inspiration and I hope to become a great nurse just like her. By being awarded a scholarship I would be able to pursue my dream career and receive the education I need to do so. I work full time and attend school full time and I'm doing everything on my own with no financial support outside of loans. I have taken out loans to help me but I can't afford to keep taking out loans. Even though I am required to use my parent's information for FASFA I do not receive any financial help from them to complete my schooling. I am on my own. • 8. Why I Want To Get A Scholarship Like a lot of students applying for these scholarships, I do not come from the most fortunate family. I was raised by a single mother. My mother did everything in her power to keep us afloat in this rough world, including attending a community college to become a licensed practical nurse while having a child at home. All my mother ever asked of me was to stay out of trouble and keep my grades up so I can attend a good college. I knew that if I did not gain a scholarship to a school, she would have to pay out of pocket for college. I could not put that burden on her shoulders because I knew she could not afford it. With that motivation, I worked hard through all my years of school to make the best grades possible. I managed to make my mother proud by being an honor graduate from a predominantly white high school, making 24 on the ACT, and earning a full scholarship to Alcorn State University to major in biology....show more content... It was a culture shock to me coming from a mostly white high school to a historically black college. It was also my first time away from home. I felt Alcorn was the going to be a place where I could achieve my career goals, mature into a responsible young man, and have fun. However, halfway through my first semester, I began to have too much fun and lose sight of why I was at Alcorn. My grades slipped because of this and I dug myself into a hole I could not get out of. I tried my hardest to bring my grades up next the semester but it was not enough. I finished with a 2.86–grade point average instead of the 3.0–grade point average I needed to keep my Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 10. Athletic Scholarships Essay Athletic Scholarships There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional athlete. Some people make it a reality, but...show more content... After it's done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can't be complete without it being baked. There can not be a missed step in the process. Could Mark McGwire have made it to the pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown University, or Steve Young without attendingBrigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster, you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to $25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4 year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of spending that much money. Many people would Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. College Scholarships As I get closer to the end of my high school career, many questions arise about what I want to do in my future. Sports are currently a big part of my life and I enjoy doing them, but I am torn about whether or not I would like to continue playing them through college. To develop a plan for my future, I wanted to research the pros and cons of playing a sport in college considering my academic and financial status, as well as my ability. Before I began my research, I addressed the information I already knew about playing college sports. I knew it takes a lot of time and commitment, which could affect my academics. I also know that college scholarships are not given for four years, but they are renewed after one year, and they can be taken away at anytime. This is unsettling because if I were to get a scholarship, it could be lost due to injury or other reasons....show more content... I searched for graduation rates of student athletes to begin with. I again wanted a reliable source so I searched for the NCAA statistics and found that 71% of student–athletes graduated at the division II level, and 87% at the division I level. This information was useful, but it was not what I was looking for. I wanted to know specifically about standings during the academic year. I searched for this and found a book, The Game of Life which explains that students who participate in sports during college have lower grade point averages than students at large. I went back to my interview with Allen Hirsch and he confirmed this point when I asked him how playing a sport affected his academics. He explained, "Sports affected my academics in a bad way because time was limited and I did not plan my academics around athletic schedule." This makes me hesitant to play because I do not plan to play sports professionally so if the preparation for my career is being compromised by sports, this is Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. Why I Chose Scholarship I want to continue my education so I can get the best job I possibly can. I know the only way I can achieve that goal is to continue my education. I also want to be financially stable so my kids and wife never has to worry about being able to go on vacation, or going shopping, or helping out friends and family when they need me. I want to be able to help, and it all starts with getting a good job, which requires a higher level of education. The reason I want to study exercise sciences is because I want to be an athletic trainer. I want a career where I can help people and be around sports at the same time, and being an athletic trainer would allow me to accomplish that. Being around athletes that remind me of my past self would be so cool....show more content... It is a wonderful state with many dedicated communities. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne are a couple cities with an abundance of opportunities. However, Adams County is a fantastic place to raise a family in my opinion. I'm definitely biased from growing up here and being a fifth generation of the area, but I would recommend Adams County to anyone looking for with a value of community that embraces the idea of a city of safety. I also believe that we are fortunate to be a community that has three school districts that received high ratings not only at the state level but in national rankings, which would create a desire to return Adams County to raise a family. I know for sure of one thing that keeps college–educated people from returning to Adams County after they have completed their education. First of all, I believe it all goes back to their high school days. I know from experience, there is no significant activities for teenagers in Monroe, Berne, or Decatur. Yes, in Decatur and Berne, we can bowl. But we can only bowl so much, and it can get costly. Since as teens many find the area boring, when given the opportunity to move on from the Adams County area. Then when drawn to larger cities that have more activities, they choose not to return––with the exception to visit family. Secondly, the lack of economic growth outside of manufacturing leaves little choices for college–educated individuals. For myself wanting to major Get more content on HelpWriting.net
