- 4. VINTAGE BROCADE Vintage brocade dresses usually have a collar at the top. It has small elaborate designs woven into its fabric. The sleeve is tight around wrist and gets looser towards the shoulders.
- 5. ROUND GOWN The round gown is a breezy loose dress that is only tightened in the sleeves.
- 6. APRON The apron is used for baking. Women would wear it while at work in the fields, on the farm or at home. Women would wipe their hands on the apron to clean them. The apron also protected the clothing underneath.
- 7. MUSLIN DRESS The muslin dress is a very formal dress, usually worn to parties or dances. The back of the muslin dress has whalebone inserts which make for a very sophisticated look.
- 8. CORSET The corset is made from whalebone and cotton. It was used for good posture and support. Women would always wear it under dresses and take it off before bed.
- 9. DEFINITIONS Brocade- fabric woven with an elaborate design, especially one having a raised overall pattern. Muslin- a cotton fabric made in various degrees of fineness and often printed, woven, or embroidered in patterns, especially a cotton fabric of plain weave, used for sheets and for a variety of other purposes.
- 10. DEFINITIONS Vintage- old fashioned Corset- close fitting undergarment used for support Apron- a garment covering part of the front of the body and tied at the waist, for protecting the wearer's clothing. Silk- thread made from cocoon of a silkworm.
- 11. DEFINITIONS Satin-woven silk Wool-sheep fur Cotton- a white fluffy plant grown and woven into thread. Whalebone- A small thin bone found in the upper jaw a a whale.

- Have a summary slide of your presentation – state it succinctly in a way that wraps your presentation.Use the ‘Fade in and dim’ animation – this keeps focus on the major summary heading but still allows you to talk about summary points.Three important steps in wrapping your presentation: Thank your audience for taking part in the presentation. Call for questions, making it clear how many questions you’ll take or how long question time will last. Encourage the audience to take what they’ve learned in the presentation and apply it to their situation directly.
- Make a natural segue to the next slide so that your presentation flows naturally.The gradual reveal of your points serves to keep anticipation up and enables you to flow naturally to the next point.Note: Level one text on the Title and Content layout used by this slide contains no bullet. To demote your text to level two, which is the bulleted text level shown on this slide, on the Home tab, under Paragraph, click Increase Indent.
- To illustrate your presentation and bring it to life use:Real-life stories.Recent news events.Strong and relevant anecdotes.Statistics that are relevant and not overwhelming – be careful of filling a slide with figures that can’t be read or quickly understood.
- Consider sub-headings that provide an emotional or action-oriented aspect to your presentation – these can be very motivating to an audience.
- If you’re presenting to an audience, the final slide should include:Your contact information.Publications relevant to your presentation and of interest to the audience.Other relevant information for the audience to follow up if interested.Keep this slide on screen while the audience disperses.
