Thank you for buying this digital camera. Please read this manual carefully before
you use and put this manual at a safe place for the reference in future.
The content contained in this manual is referred to the latest information when
preparing this manual. The screen display and illustration used in it is for the
purposing of elaborating the operation of the camera in a detailed and clear
manner. It may differ slightly from those of the camera that your use due to the
technical development and different production batch.

Attention: For the new memory card or card that is used in other digital camera/digital video camera,
please format them with this video camera if they are used on the video camera. Please backup the
important data on other important mediums such as floppy disk, hard disk and CD-ROM.

nstruction for use
This video camera can use SD memory card and MMC card (multi-media
memory card).
The SD memory card has the write-protect switch that can prevent that the image files
are deleted or formatted.

Push the switch of the SD memory card to the bottom and the data will be
protected. Push the switch of the SD memory card to the top and the write-protect
will be canceled. Please push the switch on the SD memory card to the top before
taking photo.
Instruction for use of memory card
● If the memory card that is bough newly or there is data in the memory card that
the video camera cannot recognize or pictures that are taken by other recorder,
please ensure that the memory card should be formatted first.
● Please switch off the power of the video camera before inserting or taking out
the memory card.
● The performance of the memory card will be reduced after many times of use. If
its performance is reduced, please buy new memory card.
● As the memory card is a precise electronic device, please do not bend it and it
should avoid being pressed by heavy load or dropping.
● Please do not place the memory card in the environment with strong electric
field or magnetic field such as near the speaker or receiver.
● Please do not use or place the memory at the too hot or cold environment.
● Please keep the memory card clean, from touching any liquid. If it touches the
liquid, please wipe it with soft cloth.
● When the memory card is not in use, please put it into the care sleeve.
● Please notice that the memory card will become hot after long time of use. This
condition is normal.
● Please use the memory card that is used in other digital video camera or
camera. If they are intended to be used in this camera, please format it with the
video camera.
● Please do not use memory card that is formatted by other digital video cameras
or the memory card readers.
● If one of the following conditions occurs to the memory card, the recorded data
may be damaged.
The memory card is not used properly.
The power is cut or the memory card is taken out when the recording, deletion

● It is suggested that the important data should be backuped on other medium
such as floppy disk, hard disk and CD-ROM etc.
Maintenance of video camera
It should be stored in a dry place when it is not in use and the battery must be
taken out.
● When it is in use, the wrist strap should be always used to avoid dropping.
● Use proper protective sleeve to avoid scratching the lens and display screen.
● To clean the surface of the lens, the dust on the surface should be blown away
and wipe the lens slightly with the cloth or paper tissue that is used for cleaning
the optical equipment. If it is necessary, please use the lens cleaner. Do not
use organic solvent to clean the video camera.
● Do not touch the surface of the lens with hand.

When this digital video camera is under operation or in use, please refer to the
minimum requirement of computer for use of the video camera we strongly
recommend that you use the better computer equipment to operate the video
camera to realize the best performance. The minimum system requirement is

Note: the indicator light for playback is used as the charging indicator light during the
process of charging of lithium battery.
Inception of use
Installation of battery
This video camera uses four AAA alkaline batteries. When the battery is changed, the
power of the video camera should be switched off. Open the battery cover; install the
battery according to the hint for battery polarities beside the battery compartment. Then
close the battery cover.
Charge the lithium battery
Put the lithium battery into the battery compartment and switch off the video camera
(when charging the battery, the camera must be switched off). Use the USB wire to
connect the USB port of the computer or USB power supply to charge the battery. During
the processing of charging, the indicator light for playback/charging is on. It will be off

11. after the battery is fully charged.
Install the SD/MMC memory card
Open the battery cover; insert the metal pin of SD/MMC memory card into the card
slot with the pin towards inside according to the hints beside the card slot. To take
out the memory card, press the SD/MMC downward and take the card out.

Note: � Please switch off the power of the video camera before changing the
memory card.
� Please follow the correct direction to insert the card. There is no need to
apply large force to insert the card to avoid the damage to the card or part
of the video camera. If this does not work, please check whether the
direction is correct.
� If the memory card is used for the first time, or the card is used in other
video camera, please format the memory card first.

Open the screen
Open the LCD outwards and turn the LCD display screen towards the user. You
can rotate the screen at your option.
Switch on
Press down the power key and release it, the video camera starts.
Mode switching
The video will perform recording, sound recording or playback mode after the video
camera is switched on according to the position of the mode rotary button. After the
video camera is switched to the mode, the corresponding indicator light will be on.

12. Video recording
Press the recording key to begin the video recording under the shooting mode and
the video recording stops by pressing this key again.
Taking photo
Press the shooting key to take photos under the shooting mode.
Note: press during the process of video recording
Sound recording
Press the recording key to perform sound recording under the recording mode.
Playback
The photos can be browsed or play the video or the sound recorded by this camera
in the playback mode.
Browse photo: use left key or right key to select the photos, zooming key to zoom
in the photo. Press up/down/left/right key to move the photo after it is zoomed in.
Play a movie: Use left or right key to select the movie to be played and press the
OK key to play it; pressing the OK key again to stop playing. During the process of
playing, pressing up key can pause the playing and pressing this key again will
resume the playing.
TV output
If the image or the sound needed to output to the TV, please insert the common
terminal of the TV cable to the TV port on the video camera. The yellow port is
connected with the video input port of the video equipment; the red/white port is
connected with the sound input port of the video equipment. Note: please stop the
video recording or sound recording or playing before connecting or taking out the
TV cable.
Direct printing
This video camera can use the USB cable to connect the printer supporting
PictBridge standard printer (the printer has a mark) to print the photos or images in
the video camera directly.
Select the photo to be printed, and press up key or select the “print” menu through
menu, connect the printer with the USB cable and press Ok key to print.
Switch off
Press the power key to switch the video camera under the power-on state.
If the video camera is under the idle state and the video is not operated exceeding
the set time for automatic switching off (1 minute/3 minutes/5 minutes）, the video
camera will switch off automatically to save the power.

13. Menu setting
Under the modes of shooting, video recording and playback, press the menu key to
open the menu, press up/down/left/right key to select the menu, and press Ok key
to enter the submenu. When selecting the menu, the background of the selected
menu will be highlighted.

Set date and time
Press the menu key to open the menu, then press left or right key to set the menu.
Press down key to select the “date and time” menu, and then press the OK key to
enter the setting window.
In the setting window, press left or right key to select the items to be adjusted (date
and time), the background of the selected items is displayed in sky blue. Then
press up key or down key to make adjustment, press the confirmation key to make
confirmation or press the menu key to cancel the setting and return. At last, press
the menu key to exit the setting mode.
Connect the computer
Please install the driving program of the video camera using the installation CD
before connecting the computer.
Switch on the power of the video camera first, use USB cable to connect the video
camera to the available USB port of computer. Select the removable hard disk or
camera of the USB mode and the video camera will enter the removable hard disk
or camera mode correspondingly.

14. Advanced operation
Shooting mode
Enter the shooting mode through the mode switching key after switching on.
Start the video recording by pressing the recording key, pressing this key again
stops the recording. Pressing the shooting key can take photos.
Press T key or W key to perform digital zoom.
Press the right key to switch to the 2s automatic shooting or 10s automatic
shooting.
Automatic shooting mode: press the shooting key to begin the countdown, one
picture is taken after 2 or 10 seconds are delayed.
Use LED fill light: the left key can be used to open or close the fill light (the fill light
cannot be used in the playback mode)
When the video camera is in idle state, pressing the left key can make selection
among three types of screen display naming close the icon, close the screen and
normal display.

Note: � Please hold the video camera firmly when the video recording is
performed, it is better to place it on the tripod and other supports to make
clear photos.
� The BUSY light will be on after taking photos by pressing the shutter
button. The video camera should not be moved at this moment. It can be
moved after the BUSY light is off to prevent the vague picture.
� Do not press the shooting key during the process of video recording, the
shooting key does not function in this process.

Note: 1. A piece of new photo will be saved separately after the special effect is set

After the video camera is connected with the computer, and enters movable disk
mode, there will be a new movable disk displayed in “my computer” window and the
photos or videos are saved in the directory of “DCIM100MEDIA” in the movable disk.
After entering this directory, the files can be copied to your hard disk in the computer.

Note: during download process, the USB connection can not be disconnected.
When USB is connected, the memory card can not be pulled out to prevent
data lost.

Application of PC camera function
Before the application of PC camera function, make sure to confirm that the camera driver
has been installed to the computer. After driver is installed, the “start all programs”
menu will be increased with one “SPCA 1528 PC Driver” menu which has the shortcut
icon . After the video camera has been connected with the computer and has

26. entered PC camera mode, click this shortcut icon (shown as the following picture) to open
AMCAP window. All the relevant images corresponding to the camera lens of video
camera will be displayed in AMCAP window. When AMCAP software is not opened,
application of PC camera function can send video images by network.
Make sure to select the
Preview in Option menu.
3. Install Software
Insert the accompanied CD into CD-ROM, and the installation guide program will run
automatically, the installation guide window appearing. There are four keys on the guide
window:

the clew.
After finishing installation, please restart the computer.
Note: Before installing the driver, do not connect the camera with the
computer in order to avoid the install error.
