Playground <ul><li>In the past at lunchtime children could choose to go home at that time </li></ul><ul><li>They didn’t have as much playground equipment as they do now </li></ul><ul><li>Their playground in the past would be a big field to play on and trees to climb on & also catching eels. </li></ul>
  3. 3. LIBRARY <ul><li>Libraries were small back then, but they did have a lot of books. </li></ul><ul><li>They used card catalogues to look up the books they wanted because there were no computers. </li></ul><ul><li>They had big file cabinets to look up the books you wanted. </li></ul>
  4. 4. NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN CLASS <ul><li>If you moved a grade higher the number of class student would decrease. </li></ul><ul><li>Some schools would have about 30 students in their where some would only have about 12. </li></ul><ul><li>Some classes would have about 40 students in a large room. </li></ul>
  5. 5. WHAT WAS STUDIED ? <ul><li>Back then, you had to learn to spell the words right because if they were incorrect the teacher would tell you to write 5 or 10 times out </li></ul><ul><li>You would study subjects like social studies, science and the usual subjects you study now a days & also study animals that were around you. </li></ul><ul><li>Nice handwriting was taught daily in the old days. </li></ul>

SCHOOL RULES <ul><li>There weren’t much school rules back then. </li></ul><ul><li>If you broke a school rule you would go the principals office or have detention. </li></ul><ul><li>You wouldn’t be allowed to chew gum in class or talk to the neighbour beside & you would always have to respect the teacher. </li></ul>
  7. 7. ANYTHING ELSE DIFFERENT? <ul><li>Small school and only went up to six grade </li></ul><ul><li>Children were only allowed inside the classroom after the teacher had rang the hand bell </li></ul><ul><li>Children living less than 2km from the school were not given bike access. </li></ul>
