The day will be divided into three parts:
Writing across the content levels (7:45- 9:00)
Introduce and read through the BV Writing Assessment (9:00- 11:00)
Calibrate and Score BVSW Essays (12:30- 3:00)

7:45-8:00—Introduction/ Learning Targets/ Chalk Talk Activity (Lisa Wilson)
8:00-8:20—CCSS Writing Anchor Standards/ Close Reading Strategy (Morgan Scanlon, Kat Buchanan)
8:20-8:30—CCSS Standards for Writing in History, Science, and Technical Studies (Joel White)
8:30-8:45—What is a DBQ? (Mike Ortmann, Katherine Pinto, Lindsey Hogan)
8:45-9:00—Argument v. Persuasive Text/ Reading for Meaning (Morgan Scanlon, Tyson Ostroski)
9:00-9:15—Break
9:15-11:00—Writing Assessment Read Through/ Practice Scoring (ELA CCSS Committee Members)
11:00-12:30—Lunch
12:30-3:00—Calibration and Scoring of BVSW Student Essays
