Introduction

• OD is a process that applies Behavioral
  Science Knowledge and practices to help
  organizations achieve greater
  effectiveness including increased financial
  performance and improved quality of work
  life.
Cont
• OD is different from other change efforts
  such as technological innovation, new
  product development, etc…..they focus on
  building the organization ability to assess
  its current functioning but OD involves
  improving the total system……..it thinks
  about the larger perspective.
Definition

• OD is a system wide application of
 behavioral science knowledge to the
       planned development and
    reinforcement of organizational
 strategies, structures and processes
    for improving an organization’s
             effectiveness.
Explanation
• OD applies to an entire system.
• OD is based on behavioral science Knowledge
