5. POKEMON X
GENRE: Role-Playing Video Game
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y (X・Y Poketto Monsutā Ekkusu & Wai) are role-playing video games developed
by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. They are the first installments in the
sixth generation of the Pokémon series of role-playing games. First announced on January 8, 2013, by Satoru
Iwata through a special Nintendo Direct, both X and Y were released worldwide on October 12, 2013, making them
the first Nintendo-published retail games to have such a global simultaneous release in all key regions.

6. GAMEPLAY:
Pokémon X and Y are role-playing video games with adventure elements, presented in a third-person, overhead perspective.
It is also the first Pokémon game to have 3D functions. The player controls a young trainer who goes on a quest to catch and
train creatures known as Pokémon, and win battles against other trainers. By defeating enemy Pokémon in turn-based
battles, the player's Pokémon gains experience, allowing them to level up and increase their battle statistics, learn new battle
techniques, and in some cases, evolve into more powerful Pokémon. Alternatively, players can capture wild Pokémon, found
during random encounters, by weakening them in battle and catching them with Poké Balls, allowing them to be added to
their party. Players are also able to battle and trade Pokémon with other human players using the Nintendo 3DS's
connectivity features. Like in previous games in the series, certain Pokémon are only obtainable in either X or Y, with players
encouraged to trade with others in order to obtain all Pokémon from both versions.
7. 3DS Polygonal Graphics
Pokémon X and Y are the first titles in the main series presented in fully 3D polygonal graphics, allowing for more interactivity with the overworld and
more dynamic action during battles. Players are also able to customize their Pokémon trainer's appearance, choosing gender, skin tone and hair color
at the start of the game, and can later acquire outfits and accessories to change their character's look. Joining the previous generations of Pokémon
are all new species, such as the new Starter Pokémon; Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie, and the Pokémon that are, within the fictional Pokémon
world, described as legendary, namely Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde. Players will also be able to choose from one of the classic starter Pokémon
from Pokémon Red and Blue later on in the game. The new Fairy-type is introduced for both new and old Pokémon, the first new type added to the
series since Pokémon Gold and Silver. Game developers stated the addition was used to balance the Dragon-type. In battles, certain moves can
interact with background objects, including rocks, bushes, and sand dunes, to uncover items that are difficult or impossible to obtain otherwise.
9. HOTTEST GAMING NEWS
So, is the Apple TV a PS4 and Xbox One
killer?
Technically, the Apple TV has the same 64-bit A8 processor as
the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus smartphones, but without the M8 motion
coprocessor as that's not required in a set-top-box. It is therefore
capable of running games in as good a quality as you're used to
on the current phones.
It also has Metal technology support, which developers have been
using to squeeze graphical performance out of the A8 chip for the
last year. And as developers get better at data management, the
games have gotten better over that time.
Just look at recent iOS releases, like Unkilled from Madfinger to
see how good games can be on the platform.
The file size limit for iOS applications is 4GB, while triple-A PS4
and Xbox One games can be 10 times that or more. Forza
Motorsport 6, for example, is almost 45GB in size.
That said, games like the excellent and graphically impressive
Real Racing 3 are very clever with storage management on iOS,
fitting within the 4GB limit and also using the cloud effectively. And
graphical fidelity is not the be all and end all with games, there are
many indie games for consoles today that have been awarded
five star reviews yet fit within a couple of Gigabytes.
11. BADASS CHARACTER OF THE WEEK
The Worms
Game: Worms
We are convinced you will not find a
group of creatures as bad ass as the
ones in Worms. These blood thirsty
creatures constantly find ways to blow
each other to bits using tools,
weapons, and tanks.
13. DID YOU KNOW?
On Call of Duty MW3, though the
enemy weapons have tac-lights, once
the player acquires one of these guns,
the flashlight disappears. This is due
to the fact that the lights are attached
to the enemies themselves; not the
guns.
