PROFILE
I am currently employed by Stanford University Medical Center where I am a staff RN on two
intermediate critical care units. The patient population on one of these units consists of renal
transplant, reconstructive plastic surgery, digit reimplantation, and trauma patients. The other
unit is a cardiac thoracic surgical unit where I care for patients who have undergone surgeries
and procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, ablation, pacemaker placement, Whipple,
Ivor Lewis, Thoracotomy, EVAR, and heart and lung transplant. Both units also accept medical
patients who require cardiac monitoring. On both units I frequently work as the Resource RN.
In this role I coordinate patient care for all of the patients on the unit, collaborate with the
staffing department to assure that the following shift is staffed as necessary, and act as a
resource to the other RNs who are caring for patients on the unit. I am also a Super User for
EPIC which is the electronic documentation system that is currently used at Stanford. I serve
on the Transplant Committee and also as a Service Excellence Champion for both of our units.
My objective for applying for a position at San Jose Regional Medical Center is to obtain per
diem employment on a medical, surgical, or telemetry nursing unit where my skills as a
registered nurse will be challenged and enhanced while having the opportunity to deliver
quality patient care.

Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center - Carson City, NV March 2007 - June 2007
Registered Nurse
Worked as a staff RN on a 23-bed telemetry unit, providing quality patient care within the RN’s
scope of practice. On a typical shift I would care for five patients. I left this position after only
three months to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area because of my husband’s employment.
Carson Valley Medical Center - Gardnerville, NV April 2005 - March 2007
At this critical access hospital, I was a staff RN where I provided quality patient care, within the
RN’s scope of practice, on a medical-telemetry unit. I would care for up to eight patients each
shift on both day and night shifts.
2. Barton Memorial Hospital - South Lake Tahoe, CA May 2002 - April 2005
I began working at this hospital as a new grad and was a staff RN where I provided quality
patient care, within the RN’s scope of practice, on a 25-bed medical-surgical unit. Prior to
California ratio laws, a typical shift would entail caring for eight to ten patients each night shift.
