Will participation in social media transcend those silos?Unequal digital literacies unequal participationsSocial media: greater connectedness or -> isolation, voidHomophily & reproduction of societal norms/structuresResistance to sns for a variety of reasons Civility in online networksEcho chambersMultifaceted identities > overlapping sns presence might cause problemsAre we free to structure our online identities or is that being structured for us?How should we be responding to these issues? And what can we do to democratize online networks and scholarly participation in them?
