J ohn Daniel Fountain Jr. , “Daniel” (or Dano), was born on April 23, 2003. One look at his pictures will tell you he is full of life, full of love,
has a passion for activity and wide open spaces, and is capable of more than a little mischief. However, on October 7, 2009, when he was
six years old, he became so much more. He became a warrior and a reluctant hero with more worries and threats to consider than any
small boy should. He was diagnosed with brain cancer. Over the years, he has endured repeated surgeries, procedures, and
chemotherapy to remove the monster that is growing around his brain stem. The miracles and victories along the way have been many,
but this beast has been tenacious and fearsome. Daniel, his family, and the team of doctors in whom his care lies need our prayers to
fortify them on September 19 and in the following weeks as Daniel relents to another surgery and begins the long road to recovery yet
again. Please hold Daniel up in your prayers and believe that whatever we ask, we will receive if we have faith (Matthew 21:22).
Psalm 107:28-30 Then they cried to the LORD in their
trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He
made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were
hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were
quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.
"Children with cancer are
 like candles in the wind
      who accept the
possibility that they are in
     danger of being
extinguished by a gust of
 wind from nowhere, and
  yet, as they flicker and
  dance to remain alive,
their brilliance challenges
the darkness and dazzles
  those of us who watch
  their light." ~Unknown~
