Part I- INVESTIGATING DIGITAL STORYTELLING
What is it?
"Digital Storytelling is the practice of combining narrative with digital
content, including images, sound, and video, to create a short
movie, typically with a strong emotional component."
Digital Storytelling is storytelling using computer-based tools to narrate the story of your life.
Most digital storytelling focus on a particular topic or a point of view or a moral that the person
learnt.
People of all ages and experiences share their stories either personal or creative imagination.
The movie cannot be more than 8 minutes long.
Different types of Digital Storytelling:
Audio only (Narration)
Images with audio (still images)
Movie with music
Images with audio and background music
Stills
Graphics
Can contain sounds
Words only
Photographic images
Can you define it in one or two sentences? Digital Storytelling is storytelling using any computer
software or websites for movie making tools to tell personal or either creative stories. How is it
different to creating a video?Normally creating a video consists of just music, pictures or a recorded
clip of basically anything, but Digital Storytelling is where a software (any) is used to express a story
which is either personal or creative and has a moral, theme or a lesson to it (normally). My 5
