Vidya & Child – A snapshot
• Started in 1998 with 2 children, today reaches out to over 800 children across 4
communities in Noida and 1 in Siwan, Bihar
• Team of over 60 teachers & staff and a strong network of over 45 actively involved
volunteers
• A strong relationship with each child till the child is financially independent
• Our Supporters – TechMahindra Foundation, Axis Bank Foundation, ATS Infrastructure,
Cadence Design Systems, HCL, Mentor Graphics, GiveIndia and YouthReach
Non Formal Education Programme – Prepares children for mainstream school
• Caters to over 700 children
• Classes held from Nursery to Class V
• Internally developed level-based curriculum
• 1:20, teacher to child ratio
• Strong parent interaction programme
• On completeion of Class V, children admitted to formal mainstream schools
After School Support Programme – Academic support from Class VI to X
• More than 100 children admitted to mainstream schools
• Academic support to all mainstreamed children
• Reinforcement of academic concepts
• Active volunteer involvement in academics
Foundation Programme – Tutoring support from Class XI upwards
• Currently caters to over 35 children of Class XI upwards
• 13 children have finished Class XII and are pursuing higher education
• Children provided professional help from tutors
Arts & Performing Arts Programme – A creative platform for children to dream
• Caters to over 250 students learning atleast one activity
• Children can choose from Kathak, Tabla, Music, Art & Craft, Theatre, Film Making etc..
• Children who have been learning since 4-5 years are excellent performers
• Classes conducted by professionals from respective fields
Life Skills Programme – To help children face life’s challenges
• Part of curriculum from Nursery to Class XII
• Internally developed curriculum under guidance from professionals
• Intensive workshops, film reviews and interactive sessions for Class X to XII
