2. Yes, we had a great time.
What we basically did was to sightsee all
the main buildings and places of Buenos
Aires City. These are The National
Congress, The Colon Theatre, The Pink
House, The Cathedral, Recoleta
Neighbourhood and Mayo Square. It was
quite an exhausting day, but we enjoyed
it, that’s for sure. We left the hotel at
8:00 and we got in at 21:00. Get the
picture?
3. Facing the west square, lies
the imposing building of the
Congress’ Palace, conformed
by the Senators and the
Deputies’ Chambers. It was
built in the early twentieth
century, in times of
prosperity and in
conjunction with other
major works that sought to
give the city the style and
height he deserved for his
growing development.
4. The Teatro Colón is
the largest theater in
the city of Buenos
Aires and the country.
Many internationally
renowned artists
passed through his
scenario since it
opened on May 25,
1908.
5. In“Plaza de Mayo” now stands the imposing and
striking building of the Casa Rosada. Inside you
can find many halls, like the Great Hall, called
"Hall of Honor", where two reliefs made by José
Fioravanti are found.
6. The Plaza de Mayo,
foundational site of the City
of Buenos Aires, Argentina,
was born from the union of
the squares Victoria and
Front, in 1884 to demolish a
building called Recova Vieja
that separated them.
It is located in downtown
Buenos Aires called
“microcentro porteño”
7. The neoclassical Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos
Aires is the main Catholic church in Argentina. It is
located at the intersection of San Martin and
Rivadavia Avenue, the neighborhood of San Nicolás,
opposite to the Mayo Square.
8. Recoleta is a central suburb
of the city of Buenos Aires.
It’s a broad area of historical
and architectural interest,
especially by the Recoleta
Cementery located there,
and a major tourist and
cultural focus within the
city. It is considered a fancy
neighbourhood and the value
per square meter is one of
the most expensive in the
city.
