8. Nevşehir, Cappadocia Cappadocia region, meaning the Land of Beautiful horses in the Persian language, comprises the majoriy of Nevşehir city. Millions of years ago, the volcanoes of Mount Erciyes erupted and covered Cappadocia with a layer of tuff. Over millennia, this tuff layer was eroded through wind and rainwater and formations known as “ FAIRY CHIMNEYS” sculpted.
