If you’re looking to buy a brand new PlayStation 3 or a PS
Vita console, you may want to hold out a little longer for
these brand new colours – “Azurite Blue” and “Garnet Red”
for the PS3, “Ice Silver” for the Vita – and be amongst the
first in Singapore to own one.
Azurite Blue, Garnet Red PS3s
Inspired by the precious gems azurite and garnet, these PS3s
are brightly coloured in deep hues, and well-poised to be the
cornerstone the interior decor of any self-respecting gamer’s
entertainment or living room.

Interestingly, unlike the Azurite Blue and Garnet Red PS3
models announced for the Japanese market, the units
available in Asia will come with 500GB of HDD storage
which is twice the amount packed into the Japanese edition
(250GB HDD).
Both PS3 colours will hit retail stores here in Singapore from
February 26, to be sold for S$399. These colours will be
available in retail stores for a limited time only.
Product specifications:
 Ice Silver PS Vita
Ice Silver is the fifth official colour for the PlayStation Vita
(not including limited edition specials, like the Soul Sacrifice
set), and it is a colour exclusive to the Wi-Fi only model –
at least for now. 3G/Wi-Fi PS Vita units will not come in Ice
Silver.
The Ice Silver Ps Vita Wi-Fi model will retail for S$399,
available in stores beginning March 4, 2013.

AKB48 member Minegishi
Minami shaves head as act of
apology due to ‘sex scandal’
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/akb48-member-minegishi-minami-
shaves-head-act-apology-due-sex-scandal/
By sentinel011 on February 1st, 2013
As queer as Japan’s entertainment industry goes, AKB48
member Minegishi Minami shaved her head as an act of
apology to her fans and management due to a recent sex
scandal.
As far as Japanese society’s rules go, the act of girls shaving
their heads as an act of apology is nothing new. Young girls
are usually made to shave their heads by their families to
signify their sense of guilt and acknowledge the shame the
girls put onto their family.
For Minegishi’s case, the shame she brought upon would
be to her idol management as well as the rest of AKB48′s
members, as Japanese idols often had to sign contracts
dictating that they are not allowed to have romantic
relationships.
February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone
4
Fans of such Japanese idols often fantasize about
their favourite idols, as such having such idols
‘untouched’ romantically (apart from segments done on
variety shows or TV dramas and movies) would further
drive the hardcore fans to continue to support the idols by
purchasing tons of CDs and merchandise. When Minegishi
was involved in the scandal, fans were angered and demand
apology for ‘cheating’ them.
To allay her fans and the management Minegishi took
matters in her own hands through shaving her head bald.
Her management has released the following statement
in reply to the publication Shunkan Shinbun that
released Minegishi’s scandal article and photos:
This is regarding Minami Minegishi’s scandal that
was reported on a weekly magazine that was
released today. We decided what her punishment
will be and so, I want to take this opportunity to
inform the fans about it.
We had decided to demote Minami Minegishi
to become a member of team Trainee as her
punishment for causing nuisance to the fans because
of this scandal. This demotion will take effect on
February 1, 2013.
Moreover, we will give more information about her
schedule as soon as details have been decided.
This is a sudden announcement, and I apologize
to all the fans. Please keep giving your support to
AKB48.
AKB48 Theater General Manager, Tomonobu
Togasaki
Minami Minegishi has a message to the fans, and
you can watch it on AKB48’s Official YouTube
Channel.
The following is a translation of Minegishi’s statement:
I’m Minegishi Minami from Umeda team B of
AKB48.
I’m very sorry to have caused enormous worry to
members, fans, staffs, my families and a lot of other
people with the article in the weekly magaizne that
is published today.
(Deep Bow)
As the 1st generation member of AKB48, the group
that has formed in 2005, it’s my responsibility to
always behave as a good role model to juniors.
I deeply regret what I did this time. It was a
thoughtless deed and I was completely lacking self-
awareness as a senior member.
My brain blanked out and I’m still unable to figure
out what to do, what I can do. But after I saw
the magazine a little ago, I couldn’t help but doing
something. And I decided to shave my head without
consulting any member or staff at my agency.
Although I don’t think I would be forgiven by doing
this, the first thing that I went through my head was
that “I don’t want to leave AKB48.”
This is a place where my dear members, who I
spent my blossom of youth together, are. And it’s
unimaginable to even think about leaving the group
where I’m with so many wonderful and sweet fans.
I understand it’s wishful thinking, but if it’s possible,
I would like to still be AKB48′s Minegishi Minami.
This is all my fault.
I’m truly sorry.
I will leave my hereafter to the hands of Akimoto-
sensei and management.
Though I haven’t been able to tidy my mind up, but
I just wanted to tell my current feeling to you.
Thank you so much for listening to me.
(Deep Bow)
Despite shaving her hair and being demoted, there might be
a chance where fans are still not satisfied. The sad fact is that
by shaving, Minegishi unknowingly devalued herself as an
idol despite wanting to continue to be one in her statement.
It is unfortunate that young girls who wish to continue as
idols but wish to be engaged in a romantic relationship are
unable to do so due to the pressures of the Japanese idol
industry.

Initially scheduled to come out sometime in Spring 2013,
today Rockstar Games has issued an official statement
saying that Grand Theft Auto V’s release has been delayed.
It will arrive on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms
on September 17 instead.
Along with the announcement, Rockstar’s GTA Team posted
an official apology to fans, in which they promise that the
short delay will be “worth the extra time”.

Red Dead Redemption, GTA: San Andreas, and GTA IV
combined – the GTA team said that the game needed the
extra time for it to be polished to the standards that fans
expect of RockStar Games.
Dear all
Today, we have an official release date to share with
you: Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on
September 17, 2013.
We know this is about four months later than
originally planned and we know that this short
delay will come as a disappointment to many of
you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time.
GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game
and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the
standard we and, more importantly, you require.
To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our
apologies for the delay, and our promise that the
entire team here is working very hard to make the
game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help
ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations
come September – we thank you for your support
and patience.
Yours,

showcased last year). Aside from the trailer, the film’s official

The movie is scheduled to premiere on February 23 in Japan.
As we have reported, the first moviegoers to watch the
film will receive a free copy of To Aru Majutsu no Index:

The three videos lets you listen to Shining Star-☆-LOVE

Planning on watching One Piece Film Z (our review here),
but not entirely familiar with what the nine individual
members in the Straw Hat Pirates crew can do?
Here, watch this One Piece Kaizoku Musou 2 (Pirate
Warriors 2), which briefly shows off what the members in
the powered-up Straw Hat Pirates crew can do in this sequel.
Both the movie and game are set in the New World (second
half of the Grand Line) ocean route – basically the most
dangerous seas in the world of of One Piece, so the two aren’t
exactly unrelated.
In fact, gamers who pre-order the game in Japan will receive
a One Piece Film Z costume DLC for protagonist Monkey D.
Luffy. We’re not too sure if the pre-order bonus would apply
to Singapore and the rest of Asia at the moment.

The trailer also offers a sneak peak at the “Dream Story for
Pirates Log”, an extra mode – featuring an original story, to
boot – in which gamers can play through a series of dream
matches never before seen in the manga and anime series.
A similar “dream match” mode was also included in the
first One Piece: Pirate Warriors, but it appears that Pirate
Warriors 2‘s mode will focus more on Devil Fruit ability
users.
The Japanese version of One Piece Kaizoku Musou 2 is
slated to be released for the PS3 and PS Vita in Japan and
Asia (including Singapore) March 20, 2013.

Fate/Extra CCC’s 7th short
movie: Meltlilith has sadistic
tendencies
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/01/fateextra-cccs-7th-short-movie-
meltlilith-sadistic-tendencies/
By KarbyP on January 31st, 2013
Meltlilith (voiced by Saori Hayami) is the last of three
Sakura Matou lookalikes to be introduced in Type-Moon and
Imageepoch’s forthcoming PSP JRPG Fate/Extra CCC, and
in terms of personality she is the exact opposite of Passionlip
the pacifist.
Come to think of it, that much should have been obvious the
moment back when Meltlilith’s character illustrations were
first revealed – she’s got sharp, pointed needles for legs, for
cripes’ sake! Whatever the hell does she need that for?
“Do you feel like submitting yourself wholeheartedly to me?
I’m asking you, yes or no? Would you rather be in heaven or
hell?” Meltlilith asks in a cold, refined, and slightly holier-
than-thou voice
“Tell me. Depending on your answer, I may or may not think
about the fun things we’ll do after dinner,” Meltlilith she goes
on. There’s almost a tinge of nobility in her voice.
But her true colours only emerge when she gets to talking
about what she’ll do to an opponent. She lets her sadistic
intentions seep into her voice. You can almost hear ecstasy.
“To be able to utterly and completely obliterate a detestable
enemy, honestly I can never get enough of that senstation.
It’s like tearing off the wings of a little bird.”

You, too, can submit yourself to Meltlilith’s… sadistic
tendencies, when Fate/Extra CCC (PSP) comes out on March

A DLC pack containing both of the Snow Miku 2013 modules
(character skins) that Sega unveiled late last year for the
PS Vita’s Project Diva f will be released on the Japanese
PlayStation Store next Tuesday, February 5, to be sold for
the price of 300 yen.
This is the third DLC pack for the PS Vita rhythm game. Will
it come to Asia?
We don’t know for sure, but we’re guessing that it likely will.
The first pack made it safely onto Asian shores PS Stores, but
the second pack - featuring a collaboration between Sony’s
PlayStation mascot cats Toro and Kuro, and Sega’s Hatsune
Miku game – was sold exclusively on the Japanese store.
If the new pack is sold in Asian territories, we’re guessing
that the prices for it in Singapore and Hong Kong are S$5.45
will be HK$34 respectively, based on the pricing structure
set for the first DLC pack. Again, this is just speculation on
our part, and we won’t know for sure until we check the PS
Store on February 5 itself.
Project Diva f Additional Item Set
Pack (free)
Other than the release date for the Snow Miku 2013 DLC
pack, Sega also announced today that a “Project Diva f
Additional Item Set Pack” will be released for the Vita
version of Project Diva on March 7, the same day that the
PS3 port comes out.
This DLC pack is free to download, and will include the
following customise and Edit Mode items:
• Customise items (18 items; these are basically
accessories for the head, back, arms, etc)
• Special effects for use in Edit Mode (16 items)
February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone
9
• 3D stages for use in Edit Mode (51 items)
• 2D illustrations for use in Edit Mode (26 items)
• Hand items for use in Edit mode (21 items; I think
these are like poseable hands and fingers and such…
can someone clarify in the comments?)
• Dance motions for use in Edit mode (46 items)
In the PS3 version of the game, Sega has made some
enhancements to the Edit Data mode, which allows creative
players to make their own custom stages and promo videos
for songs – and not just for the ones featured in-game;
players can also transfer MP3 files of the songs they own
digitally into the Vita, and create stages for those tunes.
And so in order to ensure that all of the new Edit Data files
that players create in the PS3 version will be compatible with
the Vita one, Sega has decided to release all of the extra
content to Vita players for free.

This will be the third time the ladies performing in
Singapore, the first being at AFA X on November 2010, and
the second in Lasalle SIA Theatre on September 2011 as part

As with most Japanese artistes, they can’t resist the
allure of Singapore’s chicken rice. The ladies were
also mesmerized by the night scenery at the Merlion Park.
We are thinking it could be the view from the Merlion Park
facing Marina Bay Sands, where a periodic laser show will
beam from the top of Marina Bay Sands.
Look forward to Scandal performing all their new songs and
old favourites this coming March! Pre-order tickets are now

Sony has streamed a video which showed nothing but the
four signature PlayStation buttons being electrified, but
what makes gamers ecstatic about it is that at the end of the
video, the console giant has revealed that it will announce
something big on February 20.
So what will be revealed on the 20th? According to the
sources of The Wall Street Journal, Sony will talk about its
next-gen console on the PlayStation 2013 press event. The
upcoming gaming platform will be battling head-on with its
competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox, in the latter of 2013.

PlayStation’s manufacturer previously considered the
removal of the system disc drive in the effort to create a fully-

because of the issues on slow internet access and file size.
The new system will integrate social gaming features.
Furthermore, Sony will be more focused on changes in user-
machine interaction rather than hardware enhancements.

When Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home’s premise was
revealed last month, I kept on wondering what that -certain
item- was. Finally, it was shown in the TV ad streamed by
Pony Canyon in their official YouTube Channel.
In the video, we see Ohana opening a box that contains
a notebook. Suddenly, the scene shifts to what seems like
Ohana’s mom (in her younger years) about to run away from
home. I’m guessing that the notebook is connected to her
mom’s past.
The video also features Kage Fumi by nano.RIPE (the pop
rock band that previously performed songs for Hanasaku
Iroha’s TV anime).

The words uttered by Hyuuga Akito during the last scene

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is a side story of the original

protagonist is Hyuuga Akito, a young pilot and member

PlayStation 4: price and
release date rumours
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/playstation-4-price-release-date-
rumours/
By ellehaym on February 7th, 2013
Last week, we witnessed a video from Sony revealing that
something big will happen on the 20th, and according to
the sources of The Wall Street Journal, the Japanese console
giant will talk about PlayStation 4. The said event is fast
approaching and rumours about the price and release date
have been spreading.
According to the Asahi Shimbun, one of the leading
newspapers in Japan, Sony’s next-gen console will cost over
40,000 JPY (almost 530 SGD). If this is true, then it would
be cheaper compared to the cost of the PlayStation 3, which
was initially launched at 50,000 JPY (and 72,000 JPY for
the 60GB system).
The newspaper also claims that PlayStation 4 will finally be
out in Japan and the USA before 2013 ends. There is no
word, however, on a European launch date. Asahi Shimbun
also adds that PS4’s controller (currently unnamed), will
almost have the same shape as the PlayStation 3’s DualShock
3 with the addition of a touchpad.
IGN is currently waiting for Sony’s comment on the report.
Given that these rumours are true, will you purchase the
PlayStation 4 this year?
For now, let’s just hope that every question we have about
Sony’s upcoming console will clear up on February 20.

By weiq on February 7th, 2013
Dragon Quest’s official homepage had streamed
promotional videos for the remake of Dragon Quest VII:
Warriors of Eden. The live-action commercials are titled
“Town Square,” “The Mysterious Stone,” “The Adventure
Begins,” and a 56-second web long version that combines the
three titles together.
The live action ads features Prince Kiefer and Wolf boy Gabo,
in their amusing attempts to shake off the red-headed ritual
dancer, Aira.
Fans will remember Dragon Quest VII (or also known as
Dragon Warriors in the North American release) for its huge
game play, which can took hundreds of hours to complete.
With the remake for the Nintendo 3DS, visible enemy
encounters will be feature, instead of random encounters.
Currently released only in Japan, Warriors of Eden will have
brand-new 3D graphics, and players can wirelessly exchange
art with each other using the StreetPass feature of the 3DS.

For YouTube user Counter656 (Dali Taichung aka John
Huang in real life), action figures are more than just for
display in his room—they can be as dynamic as originally
seen in their respective anime series.
You don’t believe me? Then here are some videos created
and released by Counter656 Productions:
My personal favorite: Gundams getting owned by Fate
series’ Saber
For these videos, Huang uses figures that are highly
interchangeable and poseable (usually, the ones from
S.H.Figuarts) and Photoshop. A multitude of still photos are
edited and special effects are added. The final result is an
impressive battle scene of character/mecha figures.
Currently, Counter656 Productions is holding its “2013 Most
Wanted Stop Motion” video survey. Visit Huang’s blog and
vote for your favorite character (poll is located on the left
side of the page). The most voted character will be prioritized
for his next set of projects (just so you know, Dragon Ball
characters are leading the poll).

Magi’s dungeon clearing scenario sounds good for an action
RPG. And that’s precisely why the Arabian Nights-themed
manga by Shinobu Ohtaka will be released as a Nintendo
3DS RPG in Japan this month.
Three video commercials, including a full promo clip and
two short ads, have been streamed by Bandai Namco Games
in their official YouTube channel. Watch all three below:
Latest ad:
In this game, players plunge into maze dungeons and
explore them with a party of characters from the anime and
manga including Aladdin, Alibaba, Morgiana, Sinbad, Judal,
Cassim and more. During battles, players have the freedom
to switch between characters. Furthermore, the abilities of
the characters can be customized once a player has gathered
rukh.
According to the video commercials, the first copies of this
upcoming RPG game for the 3DS will have special items
including a three-sticker set with images of Sinbad, Masrur
and Jafar in chibi form and a download code to get Morgiana
wearing her Household Vessel.
The Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic game will be out in Japan
on February 21. This 3DS RPG is priced at 5,800 JPY (about
77 SGD).

It is two weeks to the release of Metal Gear Rising:
Revengeance, and Konami & its partners have released
more trailers introducing the various modes, enemies
and weaponry.
To further prove the point that there are elements of stealth
within Revengeance, Konami released a trailer featuring
Augment Mode, one of the abilities Raiden will be able to
use. See your enemies through walls and objects, allowing
you to use various strategies and tactics. In previous
Metal Gear games, placing Playboy magazines will distract
humanoid cyborgs; this time, holographic variants come to
play. Talk about moving with the times indeed.
Swords and katanas aren’t the only weapons Raiden can use.
Like the weapons the bosses used? Raiden can use it too, but
it is unknown as to how to obtain these weapons. I wonder
if Jetstream Sam’s blade is usable, enabling Raiden to dual-
wield the HF blades.
Konami also released trailers introducing the different grunt
variants; the normal foot soldiers and the Unmanned Gears.
There’s a Heavy Soldier wielding a hammer bigger than
Raiden’s body, but at the hands of a skilled player, the
hammer can be deflected easily.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will release for the PS3 and
Xbox360 on 19 and 21 February 2013 for the North America
and Japan region (PS3 only) respectively.
Kyary hits #3 in weekly

Perhaps it might be due to Crayon Shin Chan, but no doubt
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is gaining popularity amongst many
Japanese pop fans. The eccentric Harajuku Lady got 3rd in
the Oricon weekly charts for her latest single CD release.
Her latest single, Kimi ni 100 Percent / Furisodeshon is
currently the theme song of the wacky kid’s anime, and
released exactly a week ago on 30 January. At press time,
Kyary had about 21,000 copies of her single sold, ahead of
Coda’s BLOODY STREAM. Being among the top 3 artistes
to garner a spot within Oricon’s weekly charts is surely a
prestigious one, similar to USA’s Billboard charts.
Unfortunately, Kyary got very strong competitors from
both male and female idol groups, especially from EXILE
and SKE48. GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE gathered
72,000 in weekly sales for their single ANIMAL, while
SKE48′s Choco no Dorei topped off the rankings with over
530,000 copies sold.
It has been almost a month since Kyary came to Singapore
to film for variety show Catherine the 13th. Kyary’s
tweet caught a local fan’s attention, and managed to get
an autograph. Her upcoming world tour, while having
Singapore as one of the selected countries to hold her tour
concert, haven’t had any additional details such as date and
location as well as ticket prices.

And I thought that Studio Ghibli will finally have a
back to back release of their magnificent films this 2013.
Unfortunately, it has been announced that Isao Takahata’s
Kaguya-hime no Monogatari won’t make it to theatres this
summer. The movie is rescheduled for a premiere this fall.
Don’t be too disappointed, though. Hayao Miyazaki’s Kaze
Tachinu opens this summer in Japan as scheduled.
Here’s the statement released by Toho, the distribution
company of Takahata’s upcoming feature-length film,
regarding the delay:
We received a report from Studio Ghibli that the
storyboard has not been completed yet, though its
progress was almost as same as ‘Kaze Tachinu’.
After considering various situations, it’s been
decided to postpone the release to this fall. We
apologize to all of the fans who have been waiting
for the release of the movie, and please wait and
look for ‘Kaguya-hime no Monogatari’, which will
be even more attractive when it’s released.

Own a Xbox 360 and a Kinect? Finally, you have a legitimate
reason to literally scream out loud for help while playing
Dead Space 3.
Dead Space 3, which we had reviewed the demo back in
January, now offers players the ability to engage the game
using their voice, in both the Single and Co-Op with Kinect.

More than forty intuitive voice commands helps you
to navigate through the various game levels, interface
menus, and activating commonly used actions such as
Reload or Switch weapons. Pretty handy, while immersing
yourselves with the bone-chilling (literally) moments as the
Necromorphs comes running towards you in the dark. Or,
when your Xbox 360 controllers’ battery suddenly went
dead.
The PDF “cheat sheet” for the voice commands, which is
released by Electronic Arts, can be downloaded here, or from
the link below.
Sadly, “Auto-aim and shoot all the Necromorphs” does not
seems to be included in the voice commands.

Rayman Legends announced

If you have been waiting for Rayman Legends for your
Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, now is the time to rejoice! The
highly anticipated platformer of 2013, which was originally
announced for the Wii U, is also coming to the Xbox 360
and PS3. The game is slated for release on all platforms this
September.
Rayman Legends, a game being developed by Ubisoft for the
three gaming systems, is adored for its marvelous graphics
and cutting-edge gameplay. Just like its predecessor,
Rayman Origins, the fantasy appeal remains, with the
addition of new characters, environments, soundtrack and
tons of exciting gaming modes.
The story of Rayman Legends goes like this: While
wondering through an enchanted forest, Rayman, Globox,
and the Teensies come across a tent with a series of
fascinating paintings. They closely observe the paintings that
seem to tell a story of a mythical world. Suddenly, they get
sucked into the painting, and that’s how the adventure starts.
The whole gang must explore each world and unearth the
secrets of each legendary painting.
You can watch a sample of it’s gameplay here:
And here are some screenshots from the game:

Nintendo has taken a step towards protecting young
children from the dangers in and beyond the cyber world.
Within the last 24 hours, Wii U players below 12 years of
age are no longer allowed to directly send or receive friend
requests. However, they can still add friends outside the
Miiverse by exchanging Nintendo Network IDs with people
in their Friend List. The move is to prevent young players
from exchanging Nintendo Network IDs and 3DS Friend
Codes through the Miiverse. To sum it all up, this Wii U
update will only permit the young ones to be friends with the
people they know in Miiverse.
The Code of Conduct section of the Miiverse has also
received some updates:
• Mods will be stricter in terms of deleting posts that are
unrelated to the specific game of a community.
• Users can only add posts after every five minutes in
Miiverse. Previously, players can post as much as they
wanted to. The comments, however, are not included
in this update.
Here are the other small updates:
• Users will get a notification whenever there’s a new
follower.
• Users will no longer be notified if there are new
comments on a post, unless the comment comes from
the original poster. This update is in response to user
complaints of receiving too many notifications.

InuYasha concluded with a sweet and happy ending five
years ago, but its creator Rumiko Takahashi, with a big
heart, still has a story to tell. In Shonen Sunday’s 10th issue
launched last February 6, a 34-page one-shot special has

Aside from Takahashi, other Shonen Sunday mangakas
will revive their popular series for the Heroes Come Back
anthology including:

• Hiromu Arakawa (popular for Fullmetal Alchemist)
• Kazuhiko Shimamoto (popular for Honou no
Tenkouse)
• Fujihiko Hosono (popular for Gallery Fake)
• Masami Yuuki (popular for Mobile Police Patlabor)
• Kazuhiro Fujita (popular for Ushio to Tora)
The InuYasha one-shot special is part of the “Heroes Come

devastated areas caused by the Tohoku earthquake and

Concert-goers were asked to participate in a slew of activities
involving their smartphones, such as vigorously shaking it
up and down to light up Tokyo Tower, and waving it around
with an app that keeps the phone’s touchscreen lit up in a
bright, neon colour – like a glow stick – as Kyary performed
Ninjyari Ban Ban for the very first time.
Details on when Kyary’s new single will be released are due
to be announced at a later date.

character are you?”
However, tables are turned with the “joke web
service” ShindanMaker, which allows users to create
ridiculous (not to mention often anime-inspired) personality
test quizzes whose results are based on the name or
username entered.
In this particular one, you are an anime character and
the diagnosis/fortune-telling quiz gives you a name of a
Japanese seiyuu based on the name you typed in.
I played with it for a bit and got some interesting and crazy
results.
First, I tried typing in my nickname, and it generated a male
seiyuu (I’m a girl for goodness’ sake!).
Unsatisfied with previous outcome, I typed in my full name.
This time, I’m satisfied. I love Marina Inoue’s (Guren
Lagann’s Yoko) voice and it would be a great pleasure to be
voiced by her, if I was an anime character.
I also tried “ellehaym”…

…and got a male seiyuu again. Ugh!
I was curious about the other results generated by
ShindanMaker so I typed our administrator’s username:
According to ShindanMaker, sentinel011 will be voiced by
Daisuke Ono, the seiyuu behind Kuroshitsuji’s Sebastian
Michaelis.
I was having so much fun so I also tried our editor’s
username.
ShindanMaker says KarbyP will be voiced by Kazuya Nakai,
the seiyuu who lent his voice to One Piece’s Roronoa Zoro.
And so, if SGCafe becomes an anime and we have to hire
seiyuus, I would surely use this post as a reference.
Try ShindanMaker as well and share your results below!
Tiger & Bunny: Hero’s Day
features has time-limited
choices that might impact
the game’s ending

Unlike Namco Bandai’s Tiger & Bunny: On-Air Jack, D3
Publisher’s Hero’s Day lets you pick to play as any of the
anime series’ eight protagonists.
At the moment it’s not confirmed if each character in the
game will have his or her own individual ending, but at the
very least, the game’s developer have confirmed that Hero’s
Day will feature multiple endings – depending on the choices
you make throughout the adventure.
Choices in Hero’s Day largely falls under two categories:
adventure part choices, and time-limited “Battle Choices”.
Note that just because it’s called Battle Choices, doesn’t
mean that a fight against a supervillain will break out right
after you make a choice (although there are those as well).
For the most part, these time-limited choices are so-called
because they’re a battle against time.
Here’s an example of each.
Adventure-part choices

In the images you see above, Antonio Lopez (Rock Bison) has
some time to kill, and is deciding whether to go hang out with
Kotetsu (Wild Tiger), or to go meet up with Fire Emblem.
Things don’t always go as planned in Hero’s Day, however,
so if you picked to go spend time with Kotetsu, what happens
is that Antonio ends up calling Agnes Joubert, producer for
Hero TV, by mistake.
Suffice to say, if you’re a fan who has to know everything
about your favourite characters in Tiger & Bunny, you’d want
to play through each character’s scenario multiple times to
see and learn everything.
Battle choices
Battle choices are a little more complicated than the regular
type. In some events, up to four possible responses will be
listed on the screen while a timer is counting down, and it’s
up to you to find the right answer to potentially diffuse a
complicated situation.
For instance, in the screenshots you see above, Kotetsu had
apparently made a promise to his daughter Kaede the night
before, but he can’t remember what the promise was, when
Kaede reminds him about it the very next day.
At this point, the following four choices appear on the screen:
• Which promise was that?
• Crap, I didn’t think Kaede would actually remember it.
• Ask about Kaede’s mood today
• Ah, I drank a little too much yesterday, huh…
To be honest, in this case I don’t see how things could go well
for Kotetsu regardless of which option he picks. I guess the
right option here would probably be to admit that Kotetsu
forgot about it (so probably the first option).
In any case, two screenshots depict what Kaede’s responses
to this scenario might be, depending on what you pick:
• … What kind of an excuse is that?
• … So this is how you’re plan on hoodwinking me into
thinking you remember, huh?
Fanservice
Outside of the main game itself, Tiger & Bunny: Hero’s Day
will also come loaded with oodles of fanservice.
One prime example of fanservice here is something that
the game’s developer is calling “eyecatch”. These are boot-
up loading sequences that feature character illustrations
along with a meaningful voice message from the character
depicted, that changes depending on what time it is when
you start up the game.
(Condition: have not played the game for over two weeks)
Yo, it’s sure been a while huh? How’ve you been
(Early afternoon) What, there’s a small test today? I didn’t
hear about it… what do I do now?!

The release of Namco Bandai Games and developer
CyberConnect2′s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle
has been dated. According to this week’s issue of Jump
magazine, the PS3 and X360 3D fighting game will be
released in Japan on August 29 this year.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: ASB will come in regular and
limited editions. The regular edition will be sold in Japan for
7,980 yen including tax, while the limited edition is priced at
16,980 yen, which is more than twice the admission price to
the standard version, but not exactly something fans would
likely scoff at – especially given what you’re getting in the
limited edition box.
The text in the scan we have is a little too scrambled for me
to make out all of the details, so I’ll have to furnish the full
details later, but at the very least you’re getting:
• A sculpted figure of Jotaro Kujo from Part 3
• A gold plate featuring an illustration drawn by JoJo’s
Bizarre Adventure author Hirohiko Araki
• Soundtrack disc
• (And a few other objects)
Apart from the price and release date announcements,
Jump magazine’s feature on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: ASB
also reveals that Part 8: Jojolion’s protagonist, Josuke
Higashikata, will also be included in the game as a
playable fighter (the headline for the feature reads “All-Star
BattLion”… har har, very charming, Shueisha).
In combat Josuke wields the stand Soft & Wet.

Earlier tonight studio Production I.G. held a Ghost in the
Shell: Arise event at nicofarre event hall in Roppongi,
giving its live audience – and fans watching at home via a
livestream – their first look at the upcoming four-part anime
film series.
A first trailer for the series, as well as what appears to be its
OP, was shared on the Web:
The new four-part series, with each part having a runtime
of 50 minutes long, will be made available to consumers on
Blu-ray and DVD.
In addition to the Blu-ray and DVD releases, the first part
of the series, entitled Ghost Pain (攻攻攻攻攻ARISE border攻1
Ghost Pain), will also be shown in cinema theatres in Japan
for two weeks, beginning June 22.
It is unclear at the moment if the remaining three parts will
also see theatrical releases.
Oddly enough, cinema-goers who head out to watch Ghost
Pain at theatres will also be amongst the first to own Ghost
in the Shell: Arise on Blu-ray, as the Blu-ray home release
for part one will be sold at theatres in advance of its general
sales period, which will commence July 26.
Apart from going to the theatres, from June 22 anime fans
in Japan will also be able to watch the film online via paid
streaming services like the Docomo Anime Store (d攻攻攻攻攻
攻).
In Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Maaya Sakamoto will voice
lead character Motoko Kusanagi, who’s younger now due to
the four-part series being a prequel to the rest of the GitS
anime franchise. Although Atsushi Tanaka had previously
helmed the leading role in past Ghost in the Shell anime
works, Sakamoto is no stranger to her new role; she had
previously played an even younger version of Motoko in the
first GiTS movie.
The rest of its cast revealed thus far are as follows:
• Batou - Kenichirou Matsuda (Prince of Tennis II‘s
Ryūji Tsuge)
• Togusa - Tarusuke Shingaki (Fate/zero’s Kariya)
• Ishikawa - Tomoyuki Dan (Japanese voice of Batman
in recent movies)
• Saito - Nakakuni Takuro
• Paz - Youji Ueda (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s
Speedwagon)
• Borma - Kazuya Nakai (One Piece’s Roronoa Zoro)
• Daisuke Aramaki - Ikkyu Jyuku

Slam Dunk is coming back…
as a social game
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/slam-dunk-coming-back-as-social-
game/
By KarbyP on February 12th, 2013
Put together the strongest high school basketball team in
all of Japan, by recruiting players the likes of Hanamichi
Sakuragi and Kaede Rukawa, in Slam Dunk ~Mezase!
Saikyo Team~ (SLAM DUNK攻攻攻攻攻攻攻攻攻攻!!攻), a social
game based on Takehiko Inoue’s popular manga and anime
series.
Launched today on DeNA’s Mobage games platform, the
new Slam Dunk social game was co-developed between
DeNA’s in-house team and KLab Inc., in conjunction with
Toei Animation, and is playable on Android and iOS
smartphones as well as good ol’ feature phones (which many
consumers in Japan still use today).
So how does one put together a solid basketball team in Slam
Dunk ~Mezase! Saikyo Team~? Like with the majority of
mobile social games in Japan, this task involves collecting
tons and tons of illustrated cards, and picking out those that
work well together in order to assemble an unbeatable deck.
Cards in this social game come in four varieties. First, at
the forefront of any deck here are Player cards featuring
characters like Sakuragi and Rukawa.
Complementing Player cards are Skill, Support (this is where
characters like Sakuragi’s love interest Haruko Akagi come
in), and Tactics (Coach Anzai) cards.
In an attempt to further infuse some of the real sport’s
flavour here, in this game it matters not only which cards you
choose to put into your deck, but also the positions in which
you placed them in. Depending on those card positions, a
variety of Skill Links (攻攻攻攻攻) – mirroring plays as seen in
the Slam Dunk anime series – may activate.
And you’ll want to activate as many Skill Links as you can, as
they are the key to winning matches against other players.

With each victory you covet, you’ll earn yourself a videotape,
an in-game item that’s actually quite useless all on its own.
I suppose in the context of the game world these videotapes
contain recorded match footage that you then sit down to
review in order to formulate your game plan for the next
match.
But collect enough of these tapes, and you’ll eventually
unlock something called Memorial Film, which are brief
clips or scenes taken directly from the Slam Dunk anime
series. You don’t really see that in a lot of social games, but
this is possible here thanks to Toei Animation’s involvement.
There is also apparently a story of some sort in this game,
said to be taking place in parallel with the main storyline
from the anime series. It’s not mentioned anywhere if Slam
Dunk author Takehiko Inoue has had a hand in the writing
here, however. So it’s best not to expect anything but the
most rudimentary of plotlines here.
Slam Dunk ~Mezase! Saikyo Team~ is free to play, with
optional paid content, and accessible now on the Mobage
games platform via your smartphone (iOS and Android) or
feature phone Web browser.
URL for use on smartphones: http://
sp.pf.mbga.jp/12012891
URL for use on feature phones: http://pf.mbga.jp/12012891
To play the game, however, you will first need to be
registered with Mobage. The registration is free and not
region-blocked, but you will need to go through a ton of
instructions written entirely in Japanese, and send an empty
e-mail from your phone.

Actor Osamu Mukai debuts as
a seiyuu in Doraemon
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/actor-osamu-mukai-debuts-seiyuu-
doraemon/
By ellehaym on February 12th, 2013
To us anime fans, Osamu Mukai is known for his roles
in the live-action adaptations of Beck, Honey and Clover,
Nodame Cantabile and Paradise Kiss. This time, he took on
the challenge of being a seiyuu.
It has been announced that the Japanese actor will lend his
voice for the TV anime, Doraemon. And you know what’s
interesting? Osamu Mukai will be playing Osaru Mukai, an
action star with monkey-like stunts (saru is the Japanese
word for monkey). Sounds like his name, right? Osaru
appears in the episode entitled “Saikyou! Korobashiya Z”
which airs in Japan on March 1.
Although Mukai finds voice acting challenging, he says that
he was happy to receive the role. The actor relates that he
has been watching Doraemon since he was young and he
never imagined that one day he’ll be given a role in the anime
series.
What he finds difficult about the voice acting is that
expression lies entirely on his voice. Whereas for acting, he
can freely express with his face and body.
Aside from the anime series, Mukai will also take part in Eiga
Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dougu Museum which is
slated for release on March 9. He is the third actor to make a
cameo appearance in Doramon films. Previously, Masaharu
Fukuyama and Shun Oguri were given roles in Doraemon:
Nobita and the New Steel Troops: ~Angel Wings~ (2011) and
Doraemon: Nobita to Kiseki no Shima ~Animal Adventure~
(2012), respectively.

Luna Sea kicks up a storm with its last leg of its concert tour
in Singapore, with suitable weather to match.
When LUNA SEA disbanded in the year 2000, many J-
Rock fans were devastated. With the disbandment, the
dream of seeing LUNA SEA perform live in Singapore was
diminished as well. However, a glimmer of hope came on
August 31 2010, when the band officially announced their
reunion and announced their first concert tour for the first
time in ten years.
Fast forward to 2012, LUNA SEA announced the aptly titled
concert tour “The End of the Dream”. Besides touring in
their native country, the band will also do an Asia tour
to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bangkok and finally on February
8 2013, their first ever concert in Singapore.
Singapore fans showed their love for LUNA SEA by going
to the Star Theatre as early as 7am to start queuing for
concert goods & merchandise. Local fans also took part in
the fan activities organized by the local fan groups LUNA
SEA Singapore Street Team and SLAVE Singapore. Many
fans signed & left their messages on the specially prepared
banners which were later presented to LUNA SEA personally
at the concert.
Much like their concerts in Japan, English rock music was
played through the PA system while fans eagerly awaited
the start of the concert. At around 8pm, the music suddenly
became louder and all fans stood up & cheered in excitement,
as this was a sign that the concert was starting. The lights
were dimmed and LUNA SEA members walked on to the
stage one by one and took their position.
LUNA SEA started the concert by performing LOVELESS, a
fan favorite opening song which got the crowd going crazy.
Throughout the two hour concert, LUNA SEA performed
many of their fan favorite hits such as End of Sorrow, True
Blue and STORM. Each individual member also dazzled fans
with their unique showmanship, with vocalist Ryuichi doing
a captivating dance during the song Gravity and Guitarist
Sugizo’s beautiful violin solo during the song Providence.
Even though this is the first time that LUNA SEA is
performing at Singapore, the fans were really “high” as
you could hear them singing along and doing the hand
actions throughout the whole concert. Some of the highlights
of the concert have got to be during the song ROSIER,
where bassist J did his signature “Mic throw” after his rap.
Drummer Shinya also did his signature Drum solo, which
had fans shouting out his name whenever he hit the drums.
For their encore, LUNA SEA performed I FOR YOU,
arguably one of their most famous song which was used as
the theme song for the very popular drama God, Please Give
me more Time. At the end of the concert, Guitarist Sugizo
said to the audience that he promised LUNA SEA will come
back again for another concert. If that wasn’t enough, he

ended his speech with an “I LOVE YOU SINGAPORE” which
made everyone go crazy.
With this concert, LUNA SEA certainly fulfilled the dreams
of many fans. It was truly “The End of the Dream”.

JRPG maker Compile Heart, who just recently published
the controversial PS Vita moe card battle game Monster
Monpiece (that was met with an astounding sell-out success
during its launch weekend in Japan), announced today
that they’re about to launch yet another moe card battle
game. This time sporting one of its hotter properties:
Hyperdimension Neptunia.
Entitled Neptune Collection, the new card battle game
app for iOS and Android devices (limited to devices
launched in Japan only; also, not supported on Android
tablets) will feature over 300 illustrated cards based on the
popular JRPG and soon-to-be-anime series, and sees players
finishing quests in order to raise the share value of the
faction or world that they pick to be affiliated to.
Well, that and to collect cards with moe on them, of course.
Other key features of the game include interacting with
Hyperdimension Neptunia’s goddess characters in events,
and changing the costumes worn by card characters by
merging them cards together.
Players will also be able to equip goddess character avatars
on card decks to power them up , and customise these
goddess avatars to some extend.
Neptune Collection will be free to download and play –
supported by optional paid content – when it’s released for
smartphones later in February.
The game app will support Apple devices running iOS 4.3
and above, as well as Android devices (again, region-locked
to those from Japan only) running firmware 2.3 and up.

Perfume’s ‘Mirai no Museum’
PV features the techno-pop
group’s members as androids
from the year 20XX [Updated]
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/perfumes-mirai-no-museum-pv-
features-techno-pop-groups-members-androids-year-20xx/
By KarbyP on February 11th, 2013
Update: Universal Music Japan has shared a 15-second spot
for the new music video.
Original story: Production work on the music video for
Japanese techno-pop group Perfume’s 17th single, Mirai no
Museum, has been finished.
The newly-minted MV, a computer-generated animation
with the group’s members inserted via chroma-key,
was shown today for the first time to the Japanese
press. Hopefully that means we’ll get to see it on the Web any
day now. Fingers crossed!
In the meantime, Perfume fans may find it interesting to
know that the music video – described as a collaboration
with anime, which is said to be a first for a Perfume MV –
does not feature any of the snappy dancing or choreography
work that the Japanese techno-pop group is renowned for.
Instead, the video focuses purely on Perfume’s acting skills,
as the unit’s members Ayaka Nishiwaki (A-chan), Ayano
Omoto (Nocchi) and Yuka Kashino (Kashiyuka) play three
“human-type robots” from the year 20XX who travel back in

time to the 19XXs, where they meet a timid young box named
“P-ta” (P攻 in Japanese).
The trio takes P-ta out on an adventure, during which the boy
discovers something important to him, and inadvertently
changes his future fate for the better.
The boy’s name “P-ta”, of course, is a reference to
Perfume’s official fan club, PTA, as well as Nobita, the main
character from Doraemon. Heck, the entire scenario itself is
practically a parody of Doraemon which makes sense since
Mirai no Museum is the theme song to the 2013 Doraemon
movie, after all.
All of the acting in the music video had to be done in front
of a bluescreen, since apart from the members and the actor
playing P-ta, everything in the music video is CG animation,
which Perfume says they hope has brought out a different
side to them for fans to see.
“This time around there aren’t any dancing parts, so it’s
focused entirely on us acting! Furthermore we’ve finally got
lasers coming out of our eyes (laughs)!
“It’s the kind of development only possible since this [music
video] is a collaboration with anime, so we think it’s really
interesting, and that even kids might enjoy themselves
watching the video. So please do look out for it!” the
members of Perfume said.
Other highlights that fans can look forward to in the new MV
include the appearance of the costume Perfume’s members
wore back in their Spring of Life MV (released in April 2012),
as well as the ESP ability they were depicted using in the MV
for Spending all my time (August 2012).
Mirai no Museum‘s MV also ends with a cool comic book
page-flipping visual effect that caps off with a shot of the
book’s cover illustration – the very same one used for the
single’s limited edition CD jacket.
Perfume’s 17th single, Mirai no Museum, goes on sale on
February 28 in Japan. For more details on the CD single,

The Idolm@ster. It started out as a pretty cool idea for a
video game. Then came the anime (the one with robots in
it). Then the manga. Then more games. More manga. And
then another anime – a more literal take, this time without
robots. Then three versions of the same game, with different
original video animation episodes in them.

Just because you (and us) weren’t physically at the Wonder
Festival 2013 convention held in Chiba’s Makuhari Messe
this past Sunday, doesn’t mean there’s absolutely no way you
could pre-order anything that was shown at the event.
Take Good Smile Company’s WonHobby exclusives, for
instance. These figures – which include Nendoroid Snow
Miku and Homura Akemi (You are not alone version) – were
showcased at Wonderful Hobby Life for You! 17 booth at the
event, and available for pre-order on the Web through the
Good Smile Online Shop – they ship internationally!
February 16th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone

For more information, pictures, and pricing details on the
10 respective WonHobby exclusive figures, head over to the
online store’s Wonderful Hobby Life for You! 17 splash page,
where you’ll also be able to make a purchase directly.
Before you do, just keep in mind that all the merch you see
here will only be open to pre-orders until February 18 (next
Monday) at 9.00PM JST (GMT+0900 hours). You have until
then to decide!
International shipping (via EMS… the good sort of shipping)
from Good Smile Online Shop to your neck of the woods is
charged at 2,000 yen, which may sound like a lot at first, but
keep in mind that it’s 2,000 yen flat per order regardless of
how many items you order.
So find a few friends, pick out a few more extra items, and
split that flat shipping fee. It’s really quite a deal; I wished
more stores could do that.

Are your pockets ready for the upcoming figures this 2013?
The ones that will be shipped around the second half of
the year are already available for pre-order. Others had just
been revealed at the Wonder Festival held in Japan this past
Sunday.
If you are fond of collecting PVC figures of popular anime
characters, these are the ones that you might want to check
out.
Max Factory’s Sheryl Nome
While people are experiencing the cold winter weather
during the WonFes, Max Factory has revealed their hot
figure: a 1/7 scaled Sheryl Nome PVC. This figure sculpted by
Chieri was inspired by Sheryl’s sexy pose during her concert
seen in the Macross Frontier: Itsuwari no Utahime movie.
We have yet to hear about the release date of the Galactic
Fairy’s upcoming figure.

Alter’s Saber Lily
Alter has exhibited two Saber figures at the WonFes. The one
in bikini is not yet painted. On the other hand, the Saber Lily
Dress Code 1/7 Complete Figure is already available for pre-
order. This figure is so pretty, you might end up forgetting
that she’s actually a “king”. Alter’s Saber Lily PVC was
inspired by TYPE-MOON’s 10th anniversary illustration.
Figma Killua Zoldyck
The previously announced figma Gon Freecss finally has
a companion! And just like the Gon figure, figma Killua
Zoldyck will also be shipped in June. Pre-orders are already
available. So if you’re a Hunter x Hunter fan, don’t miss
these posable figures from Max Factory which allows you
to recreate the scenes from the anime. Now, if only they’d
make a Leorio and Kurapika versions, things would be more
interesting, don’t you think?

If you’re a mecha anime fan, you’ll probably enjoy this new
Super Robot Wars UX PV way more than I have - why, it’s
over 10 minutes long!
I’m really not that up to date with my Gundams
and my Mazingers. So the highlight of this brand
new PV for me is really just watching Hatsune Miku
(voiced by the lovely Saki Fujita in this game) go
“gyungyungyungyungyungyungyungyun… Heart Beam!”
and transform into Fei-Yen HD.
Someone needs to make a looped video clip of that; I could
watch it for 10 hours.
Only four more weeks to go before Super Robot Wars UX for
the 3DS comes out in Japan, on March 14!

Nintendo Direct’s February 14
US broadcast highlights

broadcast-highlights/
By KarbyP on February 14th, 2013
A release date for Luigi Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS), and its
multiplayer component detailed. Mario & Luigi RPG: Dream
Team (3DS) announced. Mario Golf: World Tour (3DS), as
well. Free Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC.
All that and more in the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast
for North American gamers. If you own a US 3DS or Wii U
(which are the sets commonly sold here in Singapore), you
don’t want to miss this.
Check this post again shortly for a brief summary of
everything announced in this Nintendo Direct broadcast –
the whole thing is, like, 37 minutes long, after all.
Nintendo Direct’s February 14
Japan broadcast contains a
tiny tidbit on Band Brothers

Unlike the 37-minute-long US Nintendo Direct livestream
broadcast that was going on simultaneously, Japan’s ND
broadcast was a lot shorter, coming in at just under 20
minutes. Although both broadcasts featured a lot of the same
info, there were a few pleasant surprises here.
For starters, only in the Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast
did gamers get to see Shigeru Miyamoto “cosplaying” as
Luigi (pictured above), complete with a vacuum cleaner
that’s… probably not the Poltergeist 5000 from Luigi’s
Mansion.
The same new game (and DLC) announcements were made
here for the most part. Like their American counterparts,
Japanese gamers were told that they’d get Mario & Luigi:
Dream Team (Mario & Luigi RPG 4: Dream Adventure, as
it’s called over there) and Mario Golf: World Tour on the
3DS this summer. Similarly, it was also announced that New
Super Luigi U, a major DLC pack for New Super Mario Bros.
U for the Wii U, would be arriving on the Japanese Nintendo
e-shop around the same period.
But what was completely left out of the American broadcast
was mention of the upcoming Daigassou! Band Brothers
game for the 3DS, which I suppose means that as with the
previous version on the DS, it’s quite unlikely that this new
Band Brothers would show up in English on Western shores.
No concrete information on the new game was given.
Instead, Nintendo showed a brief clip of Barbara chewing
out (via written dialogue contained within speech bubbles)
Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata and the rest of Nintendo
for calling 2013 the “Year of the Luigi”. She reminds Iwata
that they promised gamers a new version of Band Brothers
this year, but have yet to talk about it.
And so tonight, president Iwata shared a tiny tidbit for the
upcoming 3DS rhythm game: they are planning to make
it backwards compatible with player-created songs – some
9,000 tracks to date – from the older Nintendo DS version.
However, as all of the tracks from the previous version have
to be re-entered manually – by hand – into the 3DS version,
Iwata says that at launch they may only be able to convert a
portion of those user-created tracks, but that they will try to
include as many as possible.
Following that, Iwata took a moment to speak about the
Legend of Zelda MiiVerse community that will be added to
the Wii U console, as well as Donkey Kong Country Returns
3D for the 3DS – you’ll find the same info on both titles in
the English broadcast.
And that’s about it for the Japanese Nintendo Direct
broadcast.
Before bidding viewers farewell for now, however, president
Iwata did mention that next week there will be another
Nintendo Direct broadcast for Japan that focuses exclusively
on games that will only be released there. So if you own a
Japanese 3DS or Wii U, you might want to keep an eye out
next week for announcements.
In the meantime, watch the full almost-20-minute broadcast

LovePlus Production’s new

This GREE social game from Love Plus producer Akari
Uchida and artist Mino十Taro, in which players collect, er,
Japanese beauties whose character designs are based on
the 47 different prefectures or cities in Japan, was officially
launched today. On Valentine’s Day.
Konami sure knows their target market well.
And that about sums up fun — er, I mean, Fu-Un! Nadeshiko
Collection.
Watch these trailers, then tell me in the comments what you
think.
It’s a GREE social game playable on smartphones and
feature phones anyway, so unless you already have a
Japanese GREE account (these things are region-locked),
you won’t be able to access it.
In Fu-Un! Nadeshiko Collection, a group of mysterious
female antagonists have turned things in Japan topsy turvy
– Osaka Castle suddenly made to appear in Tokyo, Mt. Fuji
transmogrified into a giant pudding. It’s an unprecedented
national crisis.
But not to worry! The prime minister has a plan!
Call forth the Nadeshiko! Japanese beauties who love their
homeland more than anyone, and are thus well-equipped
to… combat weirdness!
The art is appealing, and the game’s ridiculous plot is pretty
intriguing, the voice work stellar. I’m in love with it.
But damnit, I can’t play it!
Seriously, LovePlus Production: Go back to making New
New Love Plus, guys.

Fairy Tail Manga to Bundle
5th Original Animation DVD
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/fairy-tail-manga-bundle-5th-dvd-
poolside-anime/
By weiq on February 14th, 2013
Fairy Tail’s creator Hiro Mashima has announced on his
twitter account that the series will see a fifth OAD (original
anime DVD bundled as a bonus included with a manga
tankoubon release).
The animation will bring to life the series’ 298th chapter,
“Dokidoki Ryūzetsu Land,” and Mashima teases on his tweet
that it will be “sexier than the regular anime series.” The
story is set during the Grand Magic Games when various
guilds gather at the pool for some fun (and the chaos that
ensues).
Mashima has also posted an original concept sketch of Natsu
from the animation project, to demonstrate the care that
the project director is taking with drawing the characters’
faces. More details about the OAD will be provided in a
flyer included with 36th tankōbon when it hits the shelves in
Japan this Friday, February 15.

JRPG maker Gust may be

In this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine, Gust
is teasing fans with a silhouette of a female character who’s
wearing a miniskirt and holding in her right hand a magical
cane; she could very well be the star of the JRPG maker’s
next Atelier game.
The tease is a plug for Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival 2013,
which will take place once again this year in Akihabara’s
Belle Salle event hall (and expanding into the UDX building)
on March 17 and 18. All will be revealed at a “Gust presents
‘Atelier 2013′ presentation stage’ on the 17th.
Apart from explaining what the silhouette is all about, the
presentation will also discuss Atelier Meruru Plusjust before
its March 20 Japan release date, with Apprentice of Arland
trilogy’s character designer Mel Kishida (Red Data Girl,
Hanasaku Iroha) attending as a guest.
If the silhouette is indeed a tease for a new Atelier game, this
wouldn’t be the first time Gust has chosen to unveil their
next game at Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival. Last year they
pulled off a similar stunt, teasing fans with a silhouette of
an Atelier-esque character for a new game that was at that
point referred to as A14, before taking the stage at Dengeki
Thanksgiving Festival 2012 on March 18 to announce the
new this to be Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Twilight
Land, the 14th game in the long-running JRPG franchise.

Gears of War: Judgement is a prequel to the GOW trilogy, and stars former supporting characters Damon Baird and Augustus Cole as the new protagonists of the game. Outside of an engaging story campaign that will depict the events that happened in the Gears of War universe shortly after Emergence Day (when the Locsts monsters started attacking humanity), Gears of War: Judgement will also introduce two new multiplayer modes – OverRun and Free- for-All ‘Azurite Blue’, ‘Garnet Red’ 500GB PS3s to launch late February; ‘Ice Silver’ PS Vita in March Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/azurite-blue-garnet-red-500gb-ps3- late-february-ice-silver-vite-in-march/ By KarbyP on February 1st, 2013 If you’re looking to buy a brand new PlayStation 3 or a PS Vita console, you may want to hold out a little longer for these brand new colours – “Azurite Blue” and “Garnet Red” for the PS3, “Ice Silver” for the Vita – and be amongst the first in Singapore to own one. Azurite Blue, Garnet Red PS3s Inspired by the precious gems azurite and garnet, these PS3s are brightly coloured in deep hues, and well-poised to be the cornerstone the interior decor of any self-respecting gamer’s entertainment or living room.
  • 3. February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 3 Interestingly, unlike the Azurite Blue and Garnet Red PS3 models announced for the Japanese market, the units available in Asia will come with 500GB of HDD storage which is twice the amount packed into the Japanese edition (250GB HDD). Both PS3 colours will hit retail stores here in Singapore from February 26, to be sold for S$399. These colours will be available in retail stores for a limited time only. Product specifications:  Ice Silver PS Vita Ice Silver is the fifth official colour for the PlayStation Vita (not including limited edition specials, like the Soul Sacrifice set), and it is a colour exclusive to the Wi-Fi only model – at least for now. 3G/Wi-Fi PS Vita units will not come in Ice Silver. Product specs are as follows: AKB48 member Minegishi Minami shaves head as act of apology due to ‘sex scandal’ Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/akb48-member-minegishi-minami- shaves-head-act-apology-due-sex-scandal/ By sentinel011 on February 1st, 2013 As queer as Japan’s entertainment industry goes, AKB48 member Minegishi Minami shaved her head as an act of apology to her fans and management due to a recent sex scandal. As far as Japanese society’s rules go, the act of girls shaving their heads as an act of apology is nothing new. Young girls are usually made to shave their heads by their families to signify their sense of guilt and acknowledge the shame the girls put onto their family. For Minegishi’s case, the shame she brought upon would be to her idol management as well as the rest of AKB48′s members, as Japanese idols often had to sign contracts dictating that they are not allowed to have romantic relationships.
  • 4. February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 4 Fans of such Japanese idols often fantasize about their favourite idols, as such having such idols ‘untouched’ romantically (apart from segments done on variety shows or TV dramas and movies) would further drive the hardcore fans to continue to support the idols by purchasing tons of CDs and merchandise. When Minegishi was involved in the scandal, fans were angered and demand apology for ‘cheating’ them. To allay her fans and the management Minegishi took matters in her own hands through shaving her head bald. Her management has released the following statement in reply to the publication Shunkan Shinbun that released Minegishi’s scandal article and photos: This is regarding Minami Minegishi’s scandal that was reported on a weekly magazine that was released today. We decided what her punishment will be and so, I want to take this opportunity to inform the fans about it. We had decided to demote Minami Minegishi to become a member of team Trainee as her punishment for causing nuisance to the fans because of this scandal. This demotion will take effect on February 1, 2013. Moreover, we will give more information about her schedule as soon as details have been decided. This is a sudden announcement, and I apologize to all the fans. Please keep giving your support to AKB48. AKB48 Theater General Manager, Tomonobu Togasaki Minami Minegishi has a message to the fans, and you can watch it on AKB48’s Official YouTube Channel. The following is a translation of Minegishi’s statement: I’m Minegishi Minami from Umeda team B of AKB48. I’m very sorry to have caused enormous worry to members, fans, staffs, my families and a lot of other people with the article in the weekly magaizne that is published today. (Deep Bow) As the 1st generation member of AKB48, the group that has formed in 2005, it’s my responsibility to always behave as a good role model to juniors. I deeply regret what I did this time. It was a thoughtless deed and I was completely lacking self- awareness as a senior member. My brain blanked out and I’m still unable to figure out what to do, what I can do. But after I saw the magazine a little ago, I couldn’t help but doing something. And I decided to shave my head without consulting any member or staff at my agency. Although I don’t think I would be forgiven by doing this, the first thing that I went through my head was that “I don’t want to leave AKB48.” This is a place where my dear members, who I spent my blossom of youth together, are. And it’s unimaginable to even think about leaving the group where I’m with so many wonderful and sweet fans. I understand it’s wishful thinking, but if it’s possible, I would like to still be AKB48′s Minegishi Minami. This is all my fault. I’m truly sorry. I will leave my hereafter to the hands of Akimoto- sensei and management. Though I haven’t been able to tidy my mind up, but I just wanted to tell my current feeling to you. Thank you so much for listening to me. (Deep Bow) Despite shaving her hair and being demoted, there might be a chance where fans are still not satisfied. The sad fact is that by shaving, Minegishi unknowingly devalued herself as an idol despite wanting to continue to be one in her statement. It is unfortunate that young girls who wish to continue as idols but wish to be engaged in a romantic relationship are unable to do so due to the pressures of the Japanese idol industry. It will arrive on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms on September 17 instead. Along with the announcement, Rockstar’s GTA Team posted an official apology to fans, in which they promise that the short delay will be “worth the extra time”. • 5. February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 5 Red Dead Redemption, GTA: San Andreas, and GTA IV combined – the GTA team said that the game needed the extra time for it to be polished to the standards that fans expect of RockStar Games. Dear all Today, we have an official release date to share with you: Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013. We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require. To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience. Aside from the trailer, the film’s official YouTube channel also streamed two TV ads. The movie is scheduled to premiere on February 23 in Japan. As we have reported, the first moviegoers to watch the film will receive a free copy of To Aru Majutsu no Index: Endymion no Kiseki’s light novel version. You can browse our previous post to read the synopsis of the upcoming film. The three videos lets you listen to Shining Star-☆-LOVE Letter, Index’s image song sung by Yuka Iguchi (the CD will be released on February 6). Here, watch this One Piece Kaizoku Musou 2 (Pirate Warriors 2), which briefly shows off what the members in the powered-up Straw Hat Pirates crew can do in this sequel. Both the movie and game are set in the New World (second half of the Grand Line) ocean route – basically the most dangerous seas in the world of of One Piece, so the two aren’t exactly unrelated. In fact, gamers who pre-order the game in Japan will receive a One Piece Film Z costume DLC for protagonist Monkey D. Luffy. We’re not too sure if the pre-order bonus would apply to Singapore and the rest of Asia at the moment.
  • 6. February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 6 The trailer also offers a sneak peak at the “Dream Story for Pirates Log”, an extra mode – featuring an original story, to boot – in which gamers can play through a series of dream matches never before seen in the manga and anime series. A similar “dream match” mode was also included in the first One Piece: Pirate Warriors, but it appears that Pirate Warriors 2‘s mode will focus more on Devil Fruit ability users. The Japanese version of One Piece Kaizoku Musou 2 is slated to be released for the PS3 and PS Vita in Japan and Asia (including Singapore) March 20, 2013. Come to think of it, that much should have been obvious the moment back when Meltlilith’s character illustrations were first revealed – she’s got sharp, pointed needles for legs, for cripes’ sake! Whatever the hell does she need that for? “Do you feel like submitting yourself wholeheartedly to me? I’m asking you, yes or no? Would you rather be in heaven or hell?” Meltlilith asks in a cold, refined, and slightly holier- than-thou voice “Tell me. Depending on your answer, I may or may not think about the fun things we’ll do after dinner,” Meltlilith she goes on. There’s almost a tinge of nobility in her voice. But her true colours only emerge when she gets to talking about what she’ll do to an opponent. She lets her sadistic intentions seep into her voice. You can almost hear ecstasy. “To be able to utterly and completely obliterate a detestable enemy, honestly I can never get enough of that senstation. It’s like tearing off the wings of a little bird.”
  • 8. February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 8 You, too, can submit yourself to Meltlilith’s… sadistic tendencies, when Fate/Extra CCC (PSP) comes out on March 28 in Japan. Snow Miku 2013 comes to Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f (PS Vita) February 5; new Edit Data parts March 7 Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/01/snow-miku-2013-hatsune-miku- project-diva-ps-vita-february-5/ By KarbyP on January 31st, 2013 A DLC pack containing both of the Snow Miku 2013 modules (character skins) that Sega unveiled late last year for the PS Vita’s Project Diva f will be released on the Japanese PlayStation Store next Tuesday, February 5, to be sold for the price of 300 yen. This is the third DLC pack for the PS Vita rhythm game. Will it come to Asia? We don’t know for sure, but we’re guessing that it likely will. The first pack made it safely onto Asian shores PS Stores, but the second pack - featuring a collaboration between Sony’s PlayStation mascot cats Toro and Kuro, and Sega’s Hatsune Miku game – was sold exclusively on the Japanese store. If the new pack is sold in Asian territories, we’re guessing that the prices for it in Singapore and Hong Kong are S$5.45 will be HK$34 respectively, based on the pricing structure set for the first DLC pack. Again, this is just speculation on our part, and we won’t know for sure until we check the PS Store on February 5 itself. Project Diva f Additional Item Set Pack (free) Other than the release date for the Snow Miku 2013 DLC pack, Sega also announced today that a “Project Diva f Additional Item Set Pack” will be released for the Vita version of Project Diva on March 7, the same day that the PS3 port comes out. This DLC pack is free to download, and will include the following customise and Edit Mode items: • Customise items (18 items; these are basically accessories for the head, back, arms, etc) • Special effects for use in Edit Mode (16 items)
  • 9. February 1st, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 9 • 3D stages for use in Edit Mode (51 items) • 2D illustrations for use in Edit Mode (26 items) • Hand items for use in Edit mode (21 items; I think these are like poseable hands and fingers and such… can someone clarify in the comments?) • Dance motions for use in Edit mode (46 items) In the PS3 version of the game, Sega has made some enhancements to the Edit Data mode, which allows creative players to make their own custom stages and promo videos for songs – and not just for the ones featured in-game; players can also transfer MP3 files of the songs they own digitally into the Vita, and create stages for those tunes. And so in order to ensure that all of the new Edit Data files that players create in the PS3 version will be compatible with the Vita one, Sega has decided to release all of the extra content to Vita players for free.

This will be the third time the ladies performing in Singapore, the first being at AFA X on November 2010, and the second in Lasalle SIA Theatre on September 2011 as part of their Baby Action Tour. As with most Japanese artistes, they can’t resist the allure of Singapore’s chicken rice. The ladies were also mesmerized by the night scenery at the Merlion Park. We are thinking it could be the view from the Merlion Park facing Marina Bay Sands, where a periodic laser show will beam from the top of Marina Bay Sands. Look forward to Scandal performing all their new songs and old favourites this coming March! Pre-order tickets are now available through Sistic! So what will be revealed on the 20th? According to the sources of The Wall Street Journal, Sony will talk about its next-gen console on the PlayStation 2013 press event. The upcoming gaming platform will be battling head-on with its competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox, in the latter of 2013.

Finally, it was shown in the TV ad streamed by Pony Canyon in their official YouTube Channel. In the video, we see Ohana opening a box that contains a notebook. Suddenly, the scene shifts to what seems like Ohana’s mom (in her younger years) about to run away from home. I’m guessing that the notebook is connected to her mom’s past. The video also features Kage Fumi by nano.RIPE (the pop rock band that previously performed songs for Hanasaku Iroha’s TV anime). For more details on the upcoming movie, just read our previous post. While it has been announced that the second episode will be pushed back from spring to summer, Bandai Channel has already streamed the first PV. The channel has a region lock so viewers outside Japan won’t be able to see it. Fortunately, a concerned fan has uploaded the video on YouTube: Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is a side story of the original Code Geass series which takes place in 2017 a.t.b (when Zero, along with his Black Knights, has risen). The main protagonist is Hyuuga Akito, a young pilot and member of the W-0 unit. His superior is Leila Malkal, a former Britannian Aristocrat serving the E.U. Army as a military officer. The story is about a fight for freedom in order to have a “home” they can return to. Haven’t seen the first episode yet? Go ahead and watch it already! The story may have a simple premise, but it’s as promising and exciting as the original series. The said event is fast approaching and rumours about the price and release date have been spreading. According to the Asahi Shimbun, one of the leading newspapers in Japan, Sony’s next-gen console will cost over 40,000 JPY (almost 530 SGD). If this is true, then it would be cheaper compared to the cost of the PlayStation 3, which was initially launched at 50,000 JPY (and 72,000 JPY for the 60GB system). The newspaper also claims that PlayStation 4 will finally be out in Japan and the USA before 2013 ends. There is no word, however, on a European launch date. Asahi Shimbun also adds that PS4’s controller (currently unnamed), will almost have the same shape as the PlayStation 3’s DualShock 3 with the addition of a touchpad. IGN is currently waiting for Sony’s comment on the report. Given that these rumours are true, will you purchase the PlayStation 4 this year? For now, let’s just hope that every question we have about Sony’s upcoming console will clear up on February 20. • 20. February 7th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 3 By sentinel011 on February 6th, 2013 It is two weeks to the release of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Konami & its partners have released more trailers introducing the various modes, enemies and weaponry. To further prove the point that there are elements of stealth within Revengeance, Konami released a trailer featuring Augment Mode, one of the abilities Raiden will be able to use. See your enemies through walls and objects, allowing you to use various strategies and tactics. In previous Metal Gear games, placing Playboy magazines will distract humanoid cyborgs; this time, holographic variants come to play. Talk about moving with the times indeed. Swords and katanas aren’t the only weapons Raiden can use. Like the weapons the bosses used? Raiden can use it too, but it is unknown as to how to obtain these weapons. I wonder if Jetstream Sam’s blade is usable, enabling Raiden to dual- wield the HF blades. Konami also released trailers introducing the different grunt variants; the normal foot soldiers and the Unmanned Gears. There’s a Heavy Soldier wielding a hammer bigger than Raiden’s body, but at the hands of a skilled player, the hammer can be deflected easily. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will release for the PS3 and Xbox360 on 19 and 21 February 2013 for the North America and Japan region (PS3 only) respectively. The eccentric Harajuku Lady got 3rd in the Oricon weekly charts for her latest single CD release. Her latest single, Kimi ni 100 Percent / Furisodeshon is currently the theme song of the wacky kid’s anime, and released exactly a week ago on 30 January. At press time, Kyary had about 21,000 copies of her single sold, ahead of Coda’s BLOODY STREAM. Being among the top 3 artistes to garner a spot within Oricon’s weekly charts is surely a prestigious one, similar to USA’s Billboard charts. Unfortunately, Kyary got very strong competitors from both male and female idol groups, especially from EXILE and SKE48. GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE gathered 72,000 in weekly sales for their single ANIMAL, while SKE48′s Choco no Dorei topped off the rankings with over 530,000 copies sold. It has been almost a month since Kyary came to Singapore to film for variety show Catherine the 13th. Kyary’s tweet caught a local fan’s attention, and managed to get an autograph. Within the last 24 hours, Wii U players below 12 years of age are no longer allowed to directly send or receive friend requests. However, they can still add friends outside the Miiverse by exchanging Nintendo Network IDs with people in their Friend List. The move is to prevent young players from exchanging Nintendo Network IDs and 3DS Friend Codes through the Miiverse. To sum it all up, this Wii U update will only permit the young ones to be friends with the people they know in Miiverse. The Code of Conduct section of the Miiverse has also received some updates: • Mods will be stricter in terms of deleting posts that are unrelated to the specific game of a community. • Users can only add posts after every five minutes in Miiverse. Previously, players can post as much as they wanted to. The comments, however, are not included in this update. Here are the other small updates: • Users will get a notification whenever there’s a new follower. • Users will no longer be notified if there are new comments on a post, unless the comment comes from the original poster. This update is in response to user complaints of receiving too many notifications. In Shonen Sunday’s 10th issue launched last February 6, a 34-page one-shot special has been featured. Aside from Takahashi, other Shonen Sunday mangakas will revive their popular series for the Heroes Come Back anthology including: • Takashi Shiina (popular for Ghost Sweeper Mikami) • Hiromu Arakawa (popular for Fullmetal Alchemist) • Kazuhiko Shimamoto (popular for Honou no Tenkouse) • Fujihiko Hosono (popular for Gallery Fake) • Masami Yuuki (popular for Mobile Police Patlabor) • Kazuhiro Fujita (popular for Ushio to Tora) The InuYasha one-shot special is part of the “Heroes Come Back” charity project by the weekly shonen manga magazine. Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/anime-character-seiyuu-be-find- shindanmaker/ By ellehaym on February 7th, 2013 The World Wide Web is a great place to express your fandom and love for anime and games. And I would bet that you’ve tried quizzes such as “Which <insert anime/game title here> character are you?” However, tables are turned with the “joke web service” ShindanMaker, which allows users to create ridiculous (not to mention often anime-inspired) personality test quizzes whose results are based on the name or username entered. In this particular one, you are an anime character and the diagnosis/fortune-telling quiz gives you a name of a Japanese seiyuu based on the name you typed in. I played with it for a bit and got some interesting and crazy results. First, I tried typing in my nickname, and it generated a male seiyuu (I’m a girl for goodness’ sake!). Unsatisfied with previous outcome, I typed in my full name. This time, I’m satisfied. I love Marina Inoue’s (Guren Lagann’s Yoko) voice and it would be a great pleasure to be voiced by her, if I was an anime character. I also tried “ellehaym”…

I was curious about the other results generated by ShindanMaker so I typed our administrator’s username: According to ShindanMaker, sentinel011 will be voiced by Daisuke Ono, the seiyuu behind Kuroshitsuji’s Sebastian Michaelis. I was having so much fun so I also tried our editor’s username. ShindanMaker says KarbyP will be voiced by Kazuya Nakai, the seiyuu who lent his voice to One Piece’s Roronoa Zoro. And so, if SGCafe becomes an anime and we have to hire seiyuus, I would surely use this post as a reference. Try ShindanMaker as well and share your results below! Tiger & Bunny: Hero’s Day features has time-limited choices that might impact the game’s ending Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/tiger-bunny-heros-day-features- time-limited-choices-impact-game-ending/ By KarbyP on February 7th, 2013 Unlike Namco Bandai’s Tiger & Bunny: On-Air Jack, D3 Publisher’s Hero’s Day lets you pick to play as any of the anime series’ eight protagonists. At the moment it’s not confirmed if each character in the game will have his or her own individual ending, but at the very least, the game’s developer have confirmed that Hero’s Day will feature multiple endings – depending on the choices you make throughout the adventure. Choices in Hero’s Day largely falls under two categories: adventure part choices, and time-limited “Battle Choices”. Note that just because it’s called Battle Choices, doesn’t mean that a fight against a supervillain will break out right after you make a choice (although there are those as well). For the most part, these time-limited choices are so-called because they’re a battle against time. Here’s an example of each. Adventure-part choices
  • 34. February 8th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 10 In the images you see above, Antonio Lopez (Rock Bison) has some time to kill, and is deciding whether to go hang out with Kotetsu (Wild Tiger), or to go meet up with Fire Emblem. Things don’t always go as planned in Hero’s Day, however, so if you picked to go spend time with Kotetsu, what happens is that Antonio ends up calling Agnes Joubert, producer for Hero TV, by mistake. Suffice to say, if you’re a fan who has to know everything about your favourite characters in Tiger & Bunny, you’d want to play through each character’s scenario multiple times to see and learn everything. Battle choices Battle choices are a little more complicated than the regular type. In some events, up to four possible responses will be listed on the screen while a timer is counting down, and it’s up to you to find the right answer to potentially diffuse a complicated situation. For instance, in the screenshots you see above, Kotetsu had apparently made a promise to his daughter Kaede the night before, but he can’t remember what the promise was, when Kaede reminds him about it the very next day. At this point, the following four choices appear on the screen: • Which promise was that? • Crap, I didn’t think Kaede would actually remember it. • Ask about Kaede’s mood today • Ah, I drank a little too much yesterday, huh… To be honest, in this case I don’t see how things could go well for Kotetsu regardless of which option he picks. I guess the right option here would probably be to admit that Kotetsu forgot about it (so probably the first option). In any case, two screenshots depict what Kaede’s responses to this scenario might be, depending on what you pick: • … What kind of an excuse is that? • … So this is how you’re plan on hoodwinking me into thinking you remember, huh? Fanservice Outside of the main game itself, Tiger & Bunny: Hero’s Day will also come loaded with oodles of fanservice. One prime example of fanservice here is something that the game’s developer is calling “eyecatch”. These are boot- up loading sequences that feature character illustrations along with a meaningful voice message from the character depicted, that changes depending on what time it is when you start up the game. (Condition: have not played the game for over two weeks) Yo, it’s sure been a while huh? How’ve you been (Early afternoon) What, there’s a small test today? I didn’t hear about it… what do I do now?!

According to this week’s issue of Jump magazine, the PS3 and X360 3D fighting game will be released in Japan on August 29 this year. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: ASB will come in regular and limited editions. The regular edition will be sold in Japan for 7,980 yen including tax, while the limited edition is priced at 16,980 yen, which is more than twice the admission price to the standard version, but not exactly something fans would likely scoff at – especially given what you’re getting in the limited edition box. A first trailer for the series, as well as what appears to be its OP, was shared on the Web: The new four-part series, with each part having a runtime of 50 minutes long, will be made available to consumers on Blu-ray and DVD. In addition to the Blu-ray and DVD releases, the first part of the series, entitled Ghost Pain (攻攻攻攻攻ARISE border攻1 Ghost Pain), will also be shown in cinema theatres in Japan for two weeks, beginning June 22. It is unclear at the moment if the remaining three parts will also see theatrical releases. Oddly enough, cinema-goers who head out to watch Ghost Pain at theatres will also be amongst the first to own Ghost in the Shell: Arise on Blu-ray, as the Blu-ray home release for part one will be sold at theatres in advance of its general sales period, which will commence July 26. Apart from going to the theatres, from June 22 anime fans in Japan will also be able to watch the film online via paid streaming services like the Docomo Anime Store (d攻攻攻攻攻 攻). In Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Maaya Sakamoto will voice lead character Motoko Kusanagi, who’s younger now due to the four-part series being a prequel to the rest of the GitS anime franchise. Although Atsushi Tanaka had previously helmed the leading role in past Ghost in the Shell anime works, Sakamoto is no stranger to her new role; she had previously played an even younger version of Motoko in the first GiTS movie. The rest of its cast revealed thus far are as follows: • Batou - Kenichirou Matsuda (Prince of Tennis II‘s Ryūji Tsuge) • Togusa - Tarusuke Shingaki (Fate/zero’s Kariya) • Ishikawa - Tomoyuki Dan (Japanese voice of Batman in recent movies) • Saito - Nakakuni Takuro • Paz - Youji Ueda (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s Speedwagon) • Borma - Kazuya Nakai (One Piece’s Roronoa Zoro) • Daisuke Aramaki - Ikkyu Jyuku

Saikyo Team~ (SLAM DUNK攻攻攻攻攻攻攻攻攻攻!!攻), a social game based on Takehiko Inoue’s popular manga and anime series. Launched today on DeNA’s Mobage games platform, the new Slam Dunk social game was co-developed between DeNA’s in-house team and KLab Inc., in conjunction with Toei Animation, and is playable on Android and iOS smartphones as well as good ol’ feature phones (which many consumers in Japan still use today). So how does one put together a solid basketball team in Slam Dunk ~Mezase! Saikyo Team~? Like with the majority of mobile social games in Japan, this task involves collecting tons and tons of illustrated cards, and picking out those that work well together in order to assemble an unbeatable deck. Cards in this social game come in four varieties. First, at the forefront of any deck here are Player cards featuring characters like Sakuragi and Rukawa. Complementing Player cards are Skill, Support (this is where characters like Sakuragi’s love interest Haruko Akagi come in), and Tactics (Coach Anzai) cards. In an attempt to further infuse some of the real sport’s flavour here, in this game it matters not only which cards you choose to put into your deck, but also the positions in which you placed them in. Depending on those card positions, a variety of Skill Links (攻攻攻攻攻) – mirroring plays as seen in the Slam Dunk anime series – may activate. And you’ll want to activate as many Skill Links as you can, as they are the key to winning matches against other players.
  • 39. February 13th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 4 With each victory you covet, you’ll earn yourself a videotape, an in-game item that’s actually quite useless all on its own. I suppose in the context of the game world these videotapes contain recorded match footage that you then sit down to review in order to formulate your game plan for the next match. But collect enough of these tapes, and you’ll eventually unlock something called Memorial Film, which are brief clips or scenes taken directly from the Slam Dunk anime series. You don’t really see that in a lot of social games, but this is possible here thanks to Toei Animation’s involvement. There is also apparently a story of some sort in this game, said to be taking place in parallel with the main storyline from the anime series. It’s not mentioned anywhere if Slam Dunk author Takehiko Inoue has had a hand in the writing here, however. So it’s best not to expect anything but the most rudimentary of plotlines here. Slam Dunk ~Mezase! Saikyo Team~ is free to play, with optional paid content, and accessible now on the Mobage games platform via your smartphone (iOS and Android) or feature phone Web browser. URL for use on smartphones: http:// sp.pf.mbga.jp/12012891 URL for use on feature phones: http://pf.mbga.jp/12012891 To play the game, however, you will first need to be registered with Mobage. [Via 4Gamer] Actor Osamu Mukai debuts as a seiyuu in Doraemon Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/actor-osamu-mukai-debuts-seiyuu- doraemon/ By ellehaym on February 12th, 2013 To us anime fans, Osamu Mukai is known for his roles in the live-action adaptations of Beck, Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile and Paradise Kiss. This time, he took on the challenge of being a seiyuu. It has been announced that the Japanese actor will lend his voice for the TV anime, Doraemon. And you know what’s interesting? Osamu Mukai will be playing Osaru Mukai, an action star with monkey-like stunts (saru is the Japanese word for monkey). Sounds like his name, right? Osaru appears in the episode entitled “Saikyou! Korobashiya Z” which airs in Japan on March 1. Although Mukai finds voice acting challenging, he says that he was happy to receive the role. The actor relates that he has been watching Doraemon since he was young and he never imagined that one day he’ll be given a role in the anime series. What he finds difficult about the voice acting is that expression lies entirely on his voice. Whereas for acting, he can freely express with his face and body. Aside from the anime series, Mukai will also take part in Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dougu Museum which is slated for release on March 9. He is the third actor to make a cameo appearance in Doramon films. Previously, Masaharu Fukuyama and Shun Oguri were given roles in Doraemon: Nobita and the New Steel Troops: ~Angel Wings~ (2011) and Doraemon: Nobita to Kiseki no Shima ~Animal Adventure~ (2012), respectively. • 40. February 13th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 5 By sentinel011 on February 12th, 2013 Luna Sea kicks up a storm with its last leg of its concert tour in Singapore, with suitable weather to match. When LUNA SEA disbanded in the year 2000, many J- Rock fans were devastated. With the disbandment, the dream of seeing LUNA SEA perform live in Singapore was diminished as well. However, a glimmer of hope came on August 31 2010, when the band officially announced their reunion and announced their first concert tour for the first time in ten years. Fast forward to 2012, LUNA SEA announced the aptly titled concert tour “The End of the Dream”. Besides touring in their native country, the band will also do an Asia tour to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bangkok and finally on February 8 2013, their first ever concert in Singapore. Singapore fans showed their love for LUNA SEA by going to the Star Theatre as early as 7am to start queuing for concert goods & merchandise. Local fans also took part in the fan activities organized by the local fan groups LUNA SEA Singapore Street Team and SLAVE Singapore. Many fans signed & left their messages on the specially prepared banners which were later presented to LUNA SEA personally at the concert. Much like their concerts in Japan, English rock music was played through the PA system while fans eagerly awaited the start of the concert. At around 8pm, the music suddenly became louder and all fans stood up & cheered in excitement, as this was a sign that the concert was starting. The lights were dimmed and LUNA SEA members walked on to the stage one by one and took their position. LUNA SEA started the concert by performing LOVELESS, a fan favorite opening song which got the crowd going crazy. Throughout the two hour concert, LUNA SEA performed many of their fan favorite hits such as End of Sorrow, True Blue and STORM. Each individual member also dazzled fans with their unique showmanship, with vocalist Ryuichi doing a captivating dance during the song Gravity and Guitarist Sugizo’s beautiful violin solo during the song Providence. Even though this is the first time that LUNA SEA is performing at Singapore, the fans were really “high” as you could hear them singing along and doing the hand actions throughout the whole concert. Some of the highlights of the concert have got to be during the song ROSIER, where bassist J did his signature “Mic throw” after his rap. Drummer Shinya also did his signature Drum solo, which had fans shouting out his name whenever he hit the drums. For their encore, LUNA SEA performed I FOR YOU, arguably one of their most famous song which was used as the theme song for the very popular drama God, Please Give me more Time. At the end of the concert, Guitarist Sugizo said to the audience that he promised LUNA SEA will come back again for another concert. If that wasn’t enough, he

This time sporting one of its hotter properties: Hyperdimension Neptunia. Entitled Neptune Collection, the new card battle game app for iOS and Android devices (limited to devices launched in Japan only; also, not supported on Android tablets) will feature over 300 illustrated cards based on the popular JRPG and soon-to-be-anime series, and sees players finishing quests in order to raise the share value of the faction or world that they pick to be affiliated to. Well, that and to collect cards with moe on them, of course. Other key features of the game include interacting with Hyperdimension Neptunia’s goddess characters in events, and changing the costumes worn by card characters by merging them cards together. Players will also be able to equip goddess character avatars on card decks to power them up , and customise these goddess avatars to some extend. In the meantime, Perfume fans may find it interesting to know that the music video – described as a collaboration with anime, which is said to be a first for a Perfume MV – does not feature any of the snappy dancing or choreography work that the Japanese techno-pop group is renowned for. The trio takes P-ta out on an adventure, during which the boy discovers something important to him, and inadvertently changes his future fate for the better. The boy’s name “P-ta”, of course, is a reference to Perfume’s official fan club, PTA, as well as Nobita, the main character from Doraemon. Heck, the entire scenario itself is practically a parody of Doraemon which makes sense since Mirai no Museum is the theme song to the 2013 Doraemon movie, after all. All of the acting in the music video had to be done in front of a bluescreen, since apart from the members and the actor playing P-ta, everything in the music video is CG animation, which Perfume says they hope has brought out a different side to them for fans to see. “This time around there aren’t any dancing parts, so it’s focused entirely on us acting! Furthermore we’ve finally got lasers coming out of our eyes (laughs)! “It’s the kind of development only possible since this [music video] is a collaboration with anime, so we think it’s really interesting, and that even kids might enjoy themselves watching the video. So please do look out for it!” the members of Perfume said. Other highlights that fans can look forward to in the new MV include the appearance of the costume Perfume’s members wore back in their Spring of Life MV (released in April 2012), as well as the ESP ability they were depicted using in the MV for Spending all my time (August 2012). Mirai no Museum‘s MV also ends with a cool comic book page-flipping visual effect that caps off with a shot of the book’s cover illustration – the very same one used for the single’s limited edition CD jacket. February 13th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 10 Today at a “The Idolm@ster Music Festiv@l of Winter” concert held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Namco Bandai Games’s Yozo Sakagami (the producer overseeing the entire Im@s franchise) took the stage to announce that The Idolm@ster Movie, an anime film featuring a brand new storyline with never-before-seen aspects of the series characters fans know and love, is currently in production. A promotion video for the movie was then shown at the event, revealing that A-1 Pictures, the studio behind the recent Idolm@ster anime series, is back to helm production on the movie. The movie’s script will be co-written by Atsushi Nishigori and Tatsuya Takahashi. Nishigori will also be taking director and character design roles on the movie. No other specifics on the movie were given. For more on the movie fans might want to pick up the next issue of Megami Magazine (on store shelves February 28), which will feature a one-on-one interview with the movie’s director Atsushi Nishigori. Outside of the new anime film, Sakagami overall producer also teased that Idolm@ster fans can expect to see various other new developments for the game and anime franchise later in 2013. Source: Dengeki, Famitsu

Take Good Smile Company’s WonHobby exclusives, for instance. These figures – which include Nendoroid Snow Miku and Homura Akemi (You are not alone version) – were showcased at Wonderful Hobby Life for You! 17 booth at the event, and available for pre-order on the Web through the Good Smile Online Shop – they ship internationally!

Before you do, just keep in mind that all the merch you see here will only be open to pre-orders until February 18 (next Monday) at 9.00PM JST (GMT+0900 hours). You have until then to decide! International shipping (via EMS… the good sort of shipping) from Good Smile Online Shop to your neck of the woods is charged at 2,000 yen, which may sound like a lot at first, but keep in mind that it’s 2,000 yen flat per order regardless of how many items you order. So find a few friends, pick out a few more extra items, and split that flat shipping fee. It’s really quite a deal; I wished more stores could do that. • 49. February 16th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 4 If you’re a mecha anime fan, you’ll probably enjoy this new Super Robot Wars UX PV way more than I have - why, it’s over 10 minutes long! I’m really not that up to date with my Gundams and my Mazingers. So the highlight of this brand new PV for me is really just watching Hatsune Miku (voiced by the lovely Saki Fujita in this game) go “gyungyungyungyungyungyungyungyun… Heart Beam!” and transform into Fei-Yen HD. Someone needs to make a looped video clip of that; I could watch it for 10 hours. Only four more weeks to go before Super Robot Wars UX for the 3DS comes out in Japan, on March 14! Mario & Luigi RPG: Dream Team (3DS) announced. Mario Golf: World Tour (3DS), as well. Free Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC. All that and more in the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast for North American gamers. If you own a US 3DS or Wii U (which are the sets commonly sold here in Singapore), you don’t want to miss this. Check this post again shortly for a brief summary of everything announced in this Nintendo Direct broadcast – the whole thing is, like, 37 minutes long, after all. Nintendo Direct’s February 14 Japan broadcast contains a tiny tidbit on Band Brothers [Video] Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/nintendo-direct-february-14-japan- broadcast-highlights/ By KarbyP on February 14th, 2013
  • 51. February 16th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 6 Unlike the 37-minute-long US Nintendo Direct livestream broadcast that was going on simultaneously, Japan’s ND broadcast was a lot shorter, coming in at just under 20 minutes. Although both broadcasts featured a lot of the same info, there were a few pleasant surprises here. For starters, only in the Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast did gamers get to see Shigeru Miyamoto “cosplaying” as Luigi (pictured above), complete with a vacuum cleaner that’s… probably not the Poltergeist 5000 from Luigi’s Mansion. The same new game (and DLC) announcements were made here for the most part. Like their American counterparts, Japanese gamers were told that they’d get Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (Mario & Luigi RPG 4: Dream Adventure, as it’s called over there) and Mario Golf: World Tour on the 3DS this summer. Similarly, it was also announced that New Super Luigi U, a major DLC pack for New Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U, would be arriving on the Japanese Nintendo e-shop around the same period. But what was completely left out of the American broadcast was mention of the upcoming Daigassou! Band Brothers game for the 3DS, which I suppose means that as with the previous version on the DS, it’s quite unlikely that this new Band Brothers would show up in English on Western shores. No concrete information on the new game was given. Instead, Nintendo showed a brief clip of Barbara chewing out (via written dialogue contained within speech bubbles) Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata and the rest of Nintendo for calling 2013 the “Year of the Luigi”. She reminds Iwata that they promised gamers a new version of Band Brothers this year, but have yet to talk about it. And so tonight, president Iwata shared a tiny tidbit for the upcoming 3DS rhythm game: they are planning to make it backwards compatible with player-created songs – some 9,000 tracks to date – from the older Nintendo DS version. However, as all of the tracks from the previous version have to be re-entered manually – by hand – into the 3DS version, Iwata says that at launch they may only be able to convert a portion of those user-created tracks, but that they will try to include as many as possible. Following that, Iwata took a moment to speak about the Legend of Zelda MiiVerse community that will be added to the Wii U console, as well as Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D for the 3DS – you’ll find the same info on both titles in the English broadcast. And that’s about it for the Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast. Before bidding viewers farewell for now, however, president Iwata did mention that next week there will be another Nintendo Direct broadcast for Japan that focuses exclusively on games that will only be released there. So if you own a Japanese 3DS or Wii U, you might want to keep an eye out next week for announcements. In the meantime, watch the full almost-20-minute broadcast archived below: LovePlus Production’s new project revealed to be ‘Fu- Un! • 52. February 16th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 7 By KarbyP on February 14th, 2013 This GREE social game from Love Plus producer Akari Uchida and artist Mino十Taro, in which players collect, er, Japanese beauties whose character designs are based on the 47 different prefectures or cities in Japan, was officially launched today. On Valentine’s Day. Konami sure knows their target market well. And that about sums up fun — er, I mean, Fu-Un! Nadeshiko Collection. Watch these trailers, then tell me in the comments what you think. It’s a GREE social game playable on smartphones and feature phones anyway, so unless you already have a Japanese GREE account (these things are region-locked), you won’t be able to access it. In Fu-Un! Nadeshiko Collection, a group of mysterious female antagonists have turned things in Japan topsy turvy – Osaka Castle suddenly made to appear in Tokyo, Mt. Fuji transmogrified into a giant pudding. It’s an unprecedented national crisis. But not to worry! The prime minister has a plan! Call forth the Nadeshiko! Japanese beauties who love their homeland more than anyone, and are thus well-equipped to… combat weirdness! The art is appealing, and the game’s ridiculous plot is pretty intriguing, the voice work stellar. I’m in love with it. But damnit, I can’t play it! Seriously, LovePlus Production: Go back to making New New Love Plus, guys. 十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十十 Fairy Tail Manga to Bundle 5th Original Animation DVD Source: http://sgcafe.com/2013/02/fairy-tail-manga-bundle-5th-dvd- poolside-anime/ By weiq on February 14th, 2013 Fairy Tail’s creator Hiro Mashima has announced on his twitter account that the series will see a fifth OAD (original anime DVD bundled as a bonus included with a manga tankoubon release). The animation will bring to life the series’ 298th chapter, “Dokidoki Ryūzetsu Land,” and Mashima teases on his tweet that it will be “sexier than the regular anime series.” The story is set during the Grand Magic Games when various guilds gather at the pool for some fun (and the chaos that ensues). Mashima has also posted an original concept sketch of Natsu from the animation project, to demonstrate the care that the project director is taking with drawing the characters’ faces. More details about the OAD will be provided in a flyer included with 36th tankōbon when it hits the shelves in Japan this Friday, February 15. • 53. February 16th, 2013 Published by: VR-Zone 8 By KarbyP on February 14th, 2013 In this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine, Gust is teasing fans with a silhouette of a female character who’s wearing a miniskirt and holding in her right hand a magical cane; she could very well be the star of the JRPG maker’s next Atelier game. The tease is a plug for Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival 2013, which will take place once again this year in Akihabara’s Belle Salle event hall (and expanding into the UDX building) on March 17 and 18. All will be revealed at a “Gust presents ‘Atelier 2013′ presentation stage’ on the 17th. Apart from explaining what the silhouette is all about, the presentation will also discuss Atelier Meruru Plusjust before its March 20 Japan release date, with Apprentice of Arland trilogy’s character designer Mel Kishida (Red Data Girl, Hanasaku Iroha) attending as a guest. If the silhouette is indeed a tease for a new Atelier game, this wouldn’t be the first time Gust has chosen to unveil their next game at Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival. Last year they pulled off a similar stunt, teasing fans with a silhouette of an Atelier-esque character for a new game that was at that point referred to as A14, before taking the stage at Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival 2012 on March 18 to announce the new this to be Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Twilight Land, the 14th game in the long-running JRPG franchise.
