Swach bharat abhiyan
1. 1. MAKE A CALENDAR FOR SWACH BHARAT MISSION: Our PM urges that we spend 100 hours in a year which roughly calculates into 2 hours every week , 8 hours a month and 96 hours a year. Mark up the days you wish to take up the cleaning task. Please note summer seasons and festive seasons would need more frequent cleaning, so plan accordingly.
2. GARBAGE DISPOSAL: Before you undertake the task of cleaning up your neighb- horhood, decide what will you do with the garbage collected. Burning is not at all ad- vised as you will end polluting your own air. Segregation of biodegrabale waste from non-biodegradable is important. The biodegradable waste could be buried under ground while other waste could be kept for collection.
3. WEEDS REMOVAL: Do not remove any green ground cover, plants are not garbage they help in holding on to the soil. By removing roadside weeds, soil is set loose which will add to air pollution. If possible add a grass cover to any open areas.
4. SELECTION OF AREA FOR CLEANING: Do not select fairly clean areas to clean, this re- futes the spirit of the mission. Once an area is selected, keep cleaning the same area at periodic intervals to see your impact.
5. COMMUNICATE: Create a Facebook page and let your entire community know about the initiative. Post pictures and encourage others to join you in future. Write a blog.
