Santiago, Chile FREE Something\'s not right on Alegre Island (in Canada) Young Jamie Brewster disappeared five years ago, and his body was never found. Is someone keeping a dark secret? And if so, who? Is it the mysterious stranger people claim is wandering the island? Is it the faeries his mother sees in the woods and the sea? Does the bitter Reverend Gosse know anything? Come to Alegre Island and find out. Summary of the story: The play takes place during a cold winter week on an island in Canada. The play is a mystery. Five years ago a young man, Jamie Brewster, disappeared. His body was never found. The island is getting ready to celebrate his annual memorial service. Jamie\'s mother will not go. She believes her son was taken by the faerie (hada) spirits of the island. Jamie\'s father wants to move on and accept his son\'s death. The Brewster\'s run the local bar and inn. Reverend Barry Gosse was the last person to see Jamie alive. The islanders don\'t trust him. He doesn\'t like them. He thinks he is better than everyone else. Stilts Petterson is the sexton (handyman) at the church. His wife Alice cleans houses. He likes to spend time in the graveyard talking to spirits. Alice is busy preparing for the memorial service. “Scrawnie” Connie Macpherson is a poor retarded boy who volunteers at the church. He was a childhood friend of Jamie\'s. Pru Brewster develops strong maternal feelings for “Scrawnie” Connie. He is married to Molly, a character in the play that is only spoken of, but does not appear. When you watch the play, think about the following questions: Where does each scene take place? How do you know? What do you think happened to Jamie Brewster, and what does each character know about his disappearance? Why do you think Reverend Gosse is such a bitter man? Why does Pru Brewster believe in faeries? What really happened to Jamie Brewster?
