“We need a strong President to protect us.”
RESPONSE: We have a weak president who is making us less safe. And what about
protecting the environment, workers, consumers, students, and retirees on Medicare
and Social Security? These are protections that Democrats have instituted, fought for,
delivered, and constantly supported throughout history.
“We need tax relief.”
RESPONSE: Taxes are how we fund strategic investments that benefit all of us, with
dividends like the interstate highway system, the Internet, and health & safety
protections. Taxes are also investments in people, in businesses, and in a better future
for everyone, and we all must pay our fair share.
“We’re against abortion.”
RESPONSE: The Pro-Life mantra is just a ruse, because conservatives who are truly pro-
LIFE would support pre-natal care, post-natal care, health insurance for poor children,
gun safety legislation, and regulations that safeguard our air, water, and food supply.
Doesn’t it make sense for anti-abortion conservatives to support sex education and
contraceptives? The issue is really about women’s rights to control their own lives, and
who determines those rights.
