“Freedom in Christ – A Life of Faith
through Grace”
A Sermon Series on the Letter to the Galatians
“Two Different Paths . . . Only One to True Freedom”
Galatians 5
CHRIST WANTS US TO LIVE IN FREEDOM!
Christ has set us free for freedom. Therefore stand firm and don't
submit to the bondage of slavery again.
(Galatians 5:1)
True Freedom involves a total surrender of our lives to God.
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
(John 8:32)
2. Legalism happens whenever we place certain “human-made”
expectations and requirements on people to do things a certain way
in order to “truly become a Christian”
You were running well--who stopped you from obeying the truth? This
line of reasoning doesn't come from the one who calls you.
(Galatians 5:7-8)
Christian Freedom is not as the world would define it, but as God’s
Kingdom designed for it to be.
You were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only don't let this
freedom be an opportunity to indulge your selfish impulses, but serve
each other through love. All the Law has been fulfilled in a single
statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.
(Galatians 5:13-14)
Allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct your every thought and
action
I say be guided by the Spirit and you won't carry out your selfish
desires.
(Galatians 5:16 )
Two Different Paths . . . Only One to True Freedom

Prayer for Adult Children
Thursday, Feb, 20
7:00 - 8:30 PM
No matter how old are children are, as parents we care for them and
desire to see God's will accomplished in their lives. Join other parents
as we lift up our grown children to the Lord in a special prayer service
on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary.
We will worship the Lord in song, read scriptures and hear
testimonies. Rev. Larry and Audrey Eddings of Wind of the Spirit
Ministries will lead us in a focused time of prayer and forgiveness. We
will also gather in small groups to share and pray for one another.
Com and pray with the power of God's Word over our adult children. We
can rest in the providence of God as we turn our children over to His
care.
Questions? Contact Pastor Rick or Evelyn Carlson.
If you have a specific issue that you would like to see addressed in the
Prayer for Adult Children, please pass it along to the church. You do not
need to include your name.
We need your help.
5. Dr. Alan Kelley of Medical Teams Worldwide spoke recently about his
upcoming trip to Africa. He has a connection with a local African pastor
and his family, who feed 30 orphaned children in their home. You can
contribute to this cause by putting money (change, bills, checks) in the
container on the corner of the Information Desk in the foyer. Dr. Kelley
will take the funds with him when he goes to Africa at the end of the
month and give them to Pastor Sampson.

MacArther
Three major themes are seen in the Book of Nehemiah - careful

constant obedience of Nehemiah; repeated enemy opposition. Through
it all, God orchestrated the reconstruction of the wall of His city to
accomplish His purpose for then and now. Cost: $5.
Wednesday Women's Bible Study

Phyllis J. Le Peau. Broken marriages, shattered friendships, racial
divisions, war between nations -- we live in a fractured world. How can
the pieces be put back together? In Ephesians, Paul lifts the veil form
the future to allow us to see God's plan to unite everyone and
everything in Christ. Cost: $7.
