1. Mission of the 12 Disciples
Part 1
Matthew 10:5-11:1
Mark 6:8-13
Luke 9:3-6
John (no reference)
Matt 10
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into
the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdomof heaven is at hand.
Kingdom of Heaven is about healing, physicalearthly problems amongst the
Jewish population.
No Gentiles v5 (Rom 10:9-16)
Houseof Israelv6 (Act2:36-38)
The messagev7 “the kingdomis at hand” not the death, burial, and
resurrection of Jesus (1Cor 15:1-4, Gal1:6-10)
Matt 10
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye
have received, freely give.
Special power given to 12 (Jewish number) men not all disciples, or all
Israel, or Christians (2Cor. 12:12)
2Cor 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wroughtamong you
in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
Whatmodern “healer” goesto a leper colony to prove they have the “power
of the kingdom”?
2. Mark 16:15-18 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall
they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover.
This healingis to be done without any connection to money (chargingor
receiving). : “…freely ye have received, freely give.”
Acts 3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expectingto receive
something of them.
Matt 11:4-6 4 Jesus answeredand said unto them, Go and shew
John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raisedup, and the poor
have the gospel preachedto them.
6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offendedin me.
“All the world…Hethat believeth and is baptized”
Matt 24:14-15 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be
preachedin all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then
shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation,
spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso
readeth, let him understand:)
Acts 2:5 And there were dwellingat Jerusalem Jews, devout men,
out of every nation under heaven.
3. Acts 2:8-11 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue,
wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, andMedes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in
Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about
Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the
wonderful works of God.
Acts 2:14 But Peter, standingup with the eleven, lifted up his voice,
and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at
Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Acts 2:16-17 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet
Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will
pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and
your old men shall dream dreams:
Joel 2:28-32 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will
pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams,
your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the
servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out
my spirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the
earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be
turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the
great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall
come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the
LORD shall be delivered: for in mountZion and in Jerusalem
shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the
remnant whom the LORD shall call.
4. Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a
man approved of God among you by miracles and wondersand
signsJoel 2:30 wonders in heaven
, which God did by him in the midst of you,
as ye yourselves also know:
Acts 2:37-38 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men
and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children Joel 2:28
“your sons and daughters
”, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the
Lord our God shall call Joel 2:32 Remnant
.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to
make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the
commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev 14:6-7 6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven,
having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on
the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the
hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven,
and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep
the commandmentsof God, and the faith of Jesus.
Deut 18:15-19 15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a
Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto
him ye shall hearken;
16 Accordingto all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in
Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the
voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any
more, that I die not.
5. 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which
they have spoken.
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like
unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak
unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken
unto my wordswhich he shall speak in my name, I will require it
of him.
DL Root, (http://preservedwords.com/tribsalv-pv.htm)
Salvation in the Tribulation is based on faith and works. Jesus,
himself, said that love towardGod, whom we can't see (faith); and
love toward our neighbor, whom we can see (works) are the two
commandments upon which hangall the law and prophets. (Matt.
22:36-40).
The Old Testament Jewish saints were requiredto obey God's
commandments to be and to stay saved. The Tribulation saints will
be requiredto have faith in Christand keep the commandments by
helpingtheir neighbors.
(Matt. 10:40-42; Matt. 19:16-21; Luke 10:25-37; Heb. 6:10; Heb.
10:24; James 1:22-27; James 2:1-9; 1Pet. 1:22)
God determines the disposition of the nations accordingto how they
treat the Jew during the Tribulation. (Matt. 25:31-46)
Faith will likely be the means of the believer initiallybeing saved, but
his faith must motivate the proper works for him to keep his
salvation, and "endure to the end."
Jamessaid, "Faith without works is dead, " and one shows his
faith by working.
In the Tribulationonemust show his faith and work to overcome evil
and clinging togood or else he won't make it through saved.
6. Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end,
to him will I give power over the nations:
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;
and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess
his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my
throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his
throne.
Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inheritall things; and I will be his
God,and he shall be my son.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the
word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
There arearound 200 verses in the New Testament that indicate
someone can lose his salvation—theymust fit somewhere— and
the Tribulationisthe place. Remember Matthew chapters24 and 25,
and Hebrewschapters3, 6, and 10? The Tribulationiswherethey all
doctrinallyapply: the "time of Jacob's trouble" (not the Church's
trouble). Again, someone in the Bible canlose his salvation, but it is
not a born again Christian.
Paul'sepistles compared toJamesexhibit contradictionsunlessthere is a
doctrinaldividing line. Jamesdoes say that works are required. Paulsays
just the opposite.
Therefore by the deeds of the law shall no flesh be
justified... [Romans3:20a]
Even as David also describeththe blessedness ofthe man, unto
whom God imputeth righteousness withoutworks. [Romans4:6]
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the
law. [Galatians2:16a]
Who has saved us...not according to our works, but according to
his own purpose and grace. [II Timothy1:9a]
Paulsays that faith (belief) justifies.
7. And by him all that believe are justified fromall things, from
which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. [Acts13:39]
...Purifying their hearts by faith. [Acts15:9b]
Being justified freely by his grace... [Romans3:24a]
For by grace are ye saved through faith...Not of works. [Ephesians
2:8a, 9a]
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth
the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. [Romans4:5]
Paul'sconclusion:
And if by grace, then it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no
more grace. But it if be of works, then it is no more grace:
otherwise work is no more work. [Romans 11:6]
Where is boasting then?It is excluded. By what law? of works?
Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man
is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. [Romans 3:27-28]
Paul'sconclusion is clear - salvationis "no more of works" (It used to
be!!) but now faith alone justifies!Jamesis just as clear as Paul.
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith
only.[James2:24]
What does a Christianwhodoesn't dividehis Bible do with that verse? Most
would say: "Well, forget what it says, this it what it really means..." An
honest Christianwilladmit tothe contradictionand obeythe Bible
command to"rightlydivide!”
James is doctrine for the Tribulation.Thecontext ofChapter Two
reveals what kind of works, coupled with faith, is needed to justify a man.
He beginswith:
The faith of our Lord Jesus Christ... [James2:1a]
8. James2:1-7 describesnot having "respect of persons" as one of the works
that helps to justify.
James2:8b...the royal law according to the scripture,Thou shalt
love thy neighbor as thyself... [James2:8b]
According toJesus thisis the second commandmentonwhich all the law
and the prophetsdepend. (Matt. 22:40) Ifa person does have respect of
persons, however...
James2:9b Ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as
transgressors. [James2:9b]
Thisis definitelythe law of Moses becausehe continues...
James2:10, 11a For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet
offend in one point,he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not
commit adultery, said also, Do not kill... [James2:10, 11a]
Jamesgoes on to ask a hypotheticalquestion.
James2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he
hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? [James2:14]
Yes, according toPaul; No, accordingtoJames.
James2:17 ] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being
alone. [James2:17 ]
Jamesgives two specific Old Testament examplestoshow the necessityof
coupling faith with works. He plainlystatesthat Abraham and Rahab were
justified byworks.
James2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when
he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? [James2:21]
James2:25b Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by
works... [James2:25b]
Now all works are done in the flesh. See the contradictionbetweenJames
and Paul.
9. James2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by
works was faith made perfect? [James2:22]
VERSUS
Galatians3:2-3Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by
the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the
Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? [Galatians3:2-3]
Jamessays that faith is madeperfect by works while Paulsays that works
can't makefaith perfect!There must be a division!
TheBible makes little sense when divisions arenot recognized.
Mark2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto
the sick of the palsy,Son, thy sins be forgiven
thee. [Mark2:5]
James5:14-15 Is any sick among you? let him call for
the elders of the church; and let thempray over
him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the
Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed
sins, they shall be forgiven him. [James5:14-15]
VERSUS
...Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities... [II Corinthians12:9b]
...Use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine
often infirmities. [ITimothy5:23b]
...Trophimus have I left at Miletemsick. [II Timothy
4:20b]
When the Lord healed that manwith palsy he first forgave
his sins becauseof the faith of others! Paulsays nothing
about sins being forgivenwhen theLord heals someone, but
see thesimilarityinJames(writtentothe twelve Jewish
10. tribes). Does your church anoint the sickwith oil? If so, are
they always healed? Aretheir sins forgiven too?! This is not
Church Age doctrine. Thegreatest apostlethat ever lived
had aninfirmitythat wasn't healed! And he recommended
medicinetoTimothynot that theelders anoint him and pray
for him. He left Trophimus sick. James is written
doctrinallyfor Tribulation Jews.
Examples of a doctrinal difference:
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my
name receiveth me.[Matthew 18:5]
VERSUS
As ye have therefore received ChristJesus the Lord,
so walk ye in him.[Colossians2:6]
I didn't receivethe Lord Jesus Christ by receiving a little
child. The context of that passageis conversion.
Matt 18:3 And said, VerilyI say unto you, Except ye
be converted, and become as little children, ye shall
not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
No one getssaved todayby receiving a child, but in the
Tribulation helping a child who believes in Christ is
doing a good work to be justified. See James2:14-20.
Jas 2:14-18 14 What doth it profit, my brethren,
though a man say he hath faith, and have not works?
can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked,
and destitute of dailyfood, 16 And one of you say
unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmedand filled;
notwithstandingye give them not those things which
are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even
so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works:
11. shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew
thee my faith by my works.
Here is another example.
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same
shall be saved.[Matthew 24:13]
VERSUS
...Waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye
may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus
Christ. [I Corinthians1:7, 8]
In Mat 24 the Israelite himselfmust endure to the end to
be saved. For The Church AgeChristiantheLord will
confirm till the end. These verses contradict unlessthere is a
division.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the
beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the
end. [Hebrews3:14]
VERSUS
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in
particular. [ICorinthians12:27]
For we being many are...one body: for we are all
partakers of that one bread. [I Corinthians10:17]
Heb. 3:14 is a warning to Jews in the Tribulationthat they
will only be partakersofChrist if they hold stedfast. The
next two verses say that all Christiansarepartakersnow.
Eph 5
12. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but
nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the
church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his
flesh, and of his bones.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.2 For with what
judgment ye judge,ye shall be judged. [Matthew7:1-
2]
VERSUS
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he
himselfis judged of no man. [I Corinthians2:15]
Jesus was speaking to Jews in Matthew. Paulwas
instructingChurch AgeChristiansinCorinthians. Those
verses contradict unlessthere is a division!
These next verses are glaring and irreconcilableifthere are
no divisionsin the New Testament. A certainruler comes to
Jesus and asks the most important questiona personcan
ask. He asks the right questiontothe right person.
...Good Master, what good thing shall I do that I
may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him...if
thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
21...and follow me. [Matthew 19:16-17, 21]
VERSUS
...Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said,
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and though shalt
be saved. [Acts16:30-31]
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of
13. works, lest any man should boast. [Ephesians2:8-9]
Jesus told this Israeliteruler to keep to commandmentsand
follow him. That isnot the plan of salvationfor the Church
Age. Church Agesalvationis not even partiallydependent
on good works, but thereare New Testament verses that say
works are necessary!Remember we are commanded to
rightlydividethe Bible.
2Tim 2
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman
that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word
of truth.
