Public Library:
Outreach
Every now and then we
have featured in our newsletter
a patron biography so that
you, the reader, can get to
know others who utilize our
services. But we have realized
that maybe not everyone
knows who is working behind
the scenes here in Outreach.
So, here goes.
Meet Meredith. You
may not have seen her out and
about on deliveries quite as
much as the rest of us but you
are sure to see her behind the
wheel of our Link Van
(pictured). Meredith, a native
of Westerville, is our Library Link
representative...the other part of
our Outreach services. While the
rest of us are out delivering to
senior centers, apartments, and
patron’s homes, Meredith is out
delivering to all the kids in the
school district. She visits every
Westerville City school and a few
other private schools within the
district. That’s about 28 schools
EVERYday– five days a week. In
addition she also helps out with
children’s story times at local day
cares. So, it’s safe to say
she keeps busy.
Meredith is an ace cook
and took top prize in the
Library’s first (employee) soup
and chili cook-off. When she’s
not at work, you’ll find her
chasing storms, riding her bike,
enjoying local music with her
friends or putting the finishing
touches on her latest painting.

Did you know that
this year’s Olympics
will be the 31st
Olympiad? This year
they will be held in
Brazil from August 5
-21, 2016.
Manager’s Corner
DID
YOU
KNOW?
Did you know
that we can deliver other
things besides books? The
Westerville Public Library
has thousands of music
CD’s, magazines, audio-
books and DVD’s, both old
and new, from which to
choose. Please note that
because of the popularity of
the DVD’s, we do need to
pick those up approximately
two weeks prior to your next
delivery date. There is an
exception! If you have a
“nonfiction” DVD, identified
by having a number rather
than a title on the spine la-
bel, those can be kept the
entire month! So you do not
need to return these on a
movie pick-up day unless
you are done with them.
You can always go on-
line and order your own
material or you can call us
with your requests. Please
note that new, popular
items may require you go on
a wait list.
*Julie Kerns is also a NOTARY and will be glad to come to your home to notarize items for you. Please call us
if you need this service. 614-259-5034.
Julie Kerns,
Outreach
Manager
Remember when story times
Do you like to listen to stories and
share your own? Remember When
Story Time is an interactive group
program based on an ever-changing
theme. This program includes not only
stories read aloud by a librarian, but
also music, pictures, props, and activi-
ties. Come interact and share memo-
ries based on common experiences
and topics. Some past themes include
summertime, cars, entertainment, and
holidays. Take a look at the popsicle
stick picture puzzles created for our
Art themed program! If you would like
to participate in this program, let your
Activity Director know or contact
Outreach at 614-259-5034.
