2. Making Digital History: students as partners
in online learning, teaching and research
• HEA Digital Literacies in the Disciplines project at
Lincoln (2013-14)
• Students will use a tool called Xerte to create online
learning objects to teach others about historical topics
– 4 modules (Y1, Y2, MA)
– Individual/ group
– Knowledge and skills: alongside traditional essays; thinking about
form of presentation/ audience; developing technical skills
– Assessment: product or process (reflection)? Criteria?
